  1. For $3400, not acceptable. I'm a total amateur and mine are finished better than that. That was just plain lazy.
  2. If you order direcly from Caspian you can a lot more options. But there is a wait. Brownell's can get you what they have in stock.
  3. I kant tipe so I jus rit on th scren wif kraonz.
  4. Thanks. I'll google it. There's a nice outdoor range just west of Delaware but far as I can tell from their website, they don't hold any pistol competitions.
  5. I have a lot of friendly acquaintances. There are bloody few people I would trust enough to cal a friend.
  6. Wherever it is it SURE ain't Columbus, Oh. I'm having trouble find ANY sort of regular match around here.
  7. Silly? You think it's silly? Last year Puxatawny Phil saw his shadow... ON AN OVERCAST DAY! Not silly at all, says I.
  8. I didn't see "Minty" on the list and have always wondered if that meant "sorta like mint condition" or "I cleaned the whole thing with mouthwash so it smells really nice".
  9. Here in Ohio if they say we are gonna get 2-3" there is a mass panic with people rushing to the store to stock up on groceries and bottled water. I don't get it. We get 6" and the roads are clear in a day.
  10. They say ignorance is bliss. They all looked happy as hell.

    Which one?

Stripes (I have an interesting story about that) Manual transmission or Automatic?
  12. Looks pretty good to me. I say go with it.
  13. Not a fan of college football, but it was good to see the Bucs go all the way with what has happened over the last couple years.
  14. I agree with above sentiments. And if you ever want a drop in .45 barrel, there is no better.
  15. Don't forget tornadoes. I think it's just California envy and you should be glad you don't get sharknadoes like they do out there.
  16. Couple nights ago I had a dream that, for some reason, I had two of my pistols at work. Both in the hard case I transport them in. I was showing them to a co-worker and when I racked the slide on my beloved .45 there was rust everywhere. Then I noticed the case they were in was wet. Then I noticed that the filing cabinet I had put the case on was wet. Then I noticed water pouring from the ceiling on them. Then I saw my freshly built .38S was completely covered in rust. I woke up in a cold sweat and had to go check them to make sure they were OK before I could go back to sleep.
  17. I think you will probably get better reliability and accuracy from the CZ.
  18. "GOD! Why didn't I AIM?!" Rob Leatham.
  19. Ummm... He did post it in "1911 style Pistols". That might be a clue.
  20. Ctay, tell'em all to kiss you bass. Doesn't matter how you came to the decision to go the way you did as long as you are happy with the choice. "Read the forums" they say. Yeah there are at least 500 "What open gun should I get" threads here and in every one of them you'll get find a couple dozen "Get what I got. It's the best" replies. And after all of it you're still trying to figure out what's best for you. Ford? Chevy? Gibson? Fender? They all work. Which one is the best? Well you could look at what won the last USPSA match, but that would be a different gun every time too. So make a choice whatever way works best for you and be happy with the choice and don't second guess yourself because some guy on an internet forum tells you you were foolish.
  21. What grade did you get? 4A? That has the best grain, but also most expensive. This was 4A for the body top. Cost me right around 6.25/bf for 2x8x16" planks.
  22. WW231 is good over a light bullet. Not my favorite load, but if I tell you what powder I'm using everyone will want to try it and I'll suddenly find it hard to get. Ok, ok... I have been using AA#7 for years in my comped .45s and it gives me great accuracy and great comp performance. Just made a batch for my new .38S with 115gr lead bullets. Should be able to test them next week. This is for 5.5"barrels with no poppels.
