  1. As everyone said, it's not uncommon with what you listed as your recipe. Coming out of a 5" barrel, you're most likely going to load 4.0 grains and still be able to achieve minor PF.
  2. This is sound advice. Nothing beats a Hundo at this point in time. Pricier than the rest, but worth every penny if you value your time as well as want an AMAZING case gauge.
  3. I throw them into my dry tumbler with just some dry media no additives for 10 minutes and they come out nice and dry.
  4. I had the same issues with x-treme. I'm in the process of transitioning over to something else.
  5. 650 if you're not loading volume (3k+ per month). You'll get fast with it as you use it more. Although if you got the bread and it don't matter, then obviously the 1050 just because.
  6. I'm surprised people still don't get the case feeder. It's obviously not a must, but I don't know anyone who didn't think it was worth every penny. Love my 650 and welcome to the club!
  7. For the money, Limcat. Unless your buddy can do better.
  8. For 9 major, HS6 or Winchester Auto Comp under a 115 jacketed or 124 jacketed bullet is what I know most of the guys in my club use. They either buy from Montana Gold or Precision Delta.
  9. I didn't do it before, but I do it now because I had an issue where the case lube gummed up my magazines and they were jamming like crazy. They weren't covered in lube or anything, but there was enough that when I took the rounds out, the dust from the range was sticking to the side of the cartridge and that's when I knew.
  10. 3.1gr TG under 147gr blue bullet, OAL 1.10. PF was floated between 127-128 out of my G34.
  11. +1 for CR Speed Versas. If you're running bullets forward this is what I'd go with. If you want to try bullets out RLN Kydex makes a really solid product and gives you more magazine to grab than Ghost 360 pouches.
  12. Lim10 - ArmigerSolutions w/ BOSS Hanger and RLN bullets out adjustable kydex Production - BladeTech w/BOSS Hanger and Ghost 360 bullets out
  13. This is good. Gloves like mechanix, PIG, and more "combat" style gloves don't give you a tactile feeling of the trigger.
  14. I chamber check every time and guys will snicker about it, but there was an instance before where I didn't check and it destroyed my mental game which ruined the stage for me. Small things like this just helps to mitigate any variable that might become a problem. Victory loves preparation.
  15. Good on you for being responsible! I'm also very impressed that you went from a 6-7k gun to a 1k gun, but I also assume that's out of necessity. A lot of the guys I know in this game can't make the switch to a "cheaper" gun once they've tasted high end. Good luck with your endeavors, though!
  16. +1 on the Dawson ICE. I used S&A for a long time until I began to shoot USPSA and I switched all my single stacks over to Dawson ICE. If anything, I actually feel that the S&A get in the way more than no magwell with a decent bevel.
  17. In my opinion, it depends on your gun. I tried Wilson ETM's as well as Tripp in my SA 1911 Target and neither worked very well. I ended up trying the Dawson Precisions and they worked flawlessly, but when I let a friend try them in his STI Trojan, they were double feeding and was bullets were hitting his ejector.
  18. This is how I changed my pace and improved my game. The less you aim to look like a YouTube warrior, the better you'll actually get. Mikes and NS hurt your entire day and you are in complete control of that.
  19. I always advocate people who have never shot action pistol to just jump right in. My home range requires a 1 day clinic to get you acclimated with range commands, basic safety rules, and even properly drawing from a holster and reloading on the move. It's an incredibly great offering and the guys who run it are very very helpful and they don't get anything out of it besides wanting to help the sport grow. Being safe will always be the priority, but you will quickly learn to push the envelope.
  20. Thanks for all the help guys. Exactly what I needed to hear.
  21. I tried searching for existing threads on this matter, but I couldn't find an answer. So I use both the Blade-Tech velcro inner/outer belt with Tek-Lok magazine pouches and I really love the setup, but I'm having issues between the inner and outer belt where the magazine pouches meet. They entire left side of my outer belt is loose because the mag pouches take up a good amount of what used to be the velcro outer belt and now it just slides up and down when I go for reloads(extremely annoying). I understand most if not all people use adhesive velcro strips(?) to remedy the problem, but I wanted to know exactly what kind of adhesive velcro I should buy. I googled around and see a lot of different choices, but my main concern is a good adhesive that will last long(enough) and not peel after a few times of taking the belts on and off. Reviews after reviews for all the products I looked at seem to point at the adhesive not holding up to anything heavy duty even though the description of the adhesive is "industrial strength". Basically, I'm looking for first hand experiences of what worked for you and what didn't(brands or companies that worked). Is there another way to remedy this issue besides adhesive velcro? Thanks all!
