Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Sorry I haven't posted up here in a couple of days but I have a friend of a friend hopefully coming by tonight to try and help me sort out the issues I'm having. I figure another set of eyes would be helpful in trying to take care of the issue. I called Dillon again and they think the primer issue was a bent part so I'm waiting on that to show up but they still have no solution for the sizing issue.
  2. I'm just about to give up on this press. luckily a friend knows someone close by who has a 650 who can hopefully come by and help me out.
  3. If you watch your primers advance the arm has a curve on the bottom which allows it to come out of the holes and move to the next one to advance the primers. In my case the arm won't lock into the next hole to align the next primer
  4. I switched to the RCBS die I had and it seemed to run okay but I only got a short run done tonight after I got off work. But I had three times the rounds fail to case gauge. Now the primer feeding system is hanging up unless I push down on the advancing arm to make sure the wheel turns. I did try and tighten the shell plate a bit to insure it was not the issue. I also orded my press as a 9mm and haven't tried running anything but 9 mm on it.
  5. Yeah I didn't even think of that since I bought the press brand new and its been doing this since I unboxed it and set it up
  6. hmmm...maybe thats my issue...i didn't know about that being the possible cause I will definitely check that
  7. jrn1975's picture looks a lot like mine...I wish I could get a photo of mine but I'm at work at the moment....sometimes it feeds fine and other times it doesn't...but it will damage several cases in a row for me so I don't think its the shell plate that is bad. I've already used the alignment tool and that didn't help but primers feed fine, and the rest of the stations are good to go
  8. ChuckS if that part is broken on my press then Dillon has a huge problem with that part. I've only loaded maybe 1000 rounds with my press that I purchased brand new but I will go ahead and check it when I get home.
  9. I also received the same advise from Dillon to use their dies and am debating doing just that. jrn1975 I had a few alignment issues with the lnl press but they were few and far between. In several 1000 rounds loaded I had maybe 1 or 2 that I had to adjust the alignment. with my Dillong it seems like every couple of cases will have this issue.
  10. I'm sorry if this is a repeated question but I've been trying to weed through all the posts and get an issue resolved with my press with no luck. I have a Dillon 650 set up for 9mm and had been using an EGW die on my Hornaday LNL press prior to getting the 650. I have noticed with the 650 I'm having issues with the cases getting crushed while attempting to size the cases. I normally catch it but sometimes it does damage the case to the point I just have to toss it. I have tried re-aligning the press per Dillon's instructions with no luck. I have also attempted to adjust the case slide by raising the rod all the way so the slide can slide all the way into the press but I still have the issue. I shoot USPSA and prefer to use the EGW Die but I have been told I may be better off just using the Dillon sizing die. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm about to throw in the towel on the Dillon press because this die worked on my Hornady and I was able to get alot more rounds done prior to switching over, but my buddy uses the EGW die without problems on his 650, but he had no idea why it wasn't working on mine.
  11. I'm shootin 147 grain coated bullet. I really like tarans front sight I really dont want to give it up
  12. I just have a quick question in reference to the sights on my Glock. I've been running the Taran Tactical sights on my gun since getting back into USPSA. I have never actually zeroed my sights after changing them out and have been doing pretty well in matches. I did however notice during a practice session the other day shooting plate racks at 25 yards I was having to aim low to hit the plates. I'm gonna take some time to zero my gun to figure out exactly where I am hitting but I was wondering at what distance to you zero your sights of USPSA. Also If the sights are off what sights would you suggest I switch too since the Taran tacticals aren't adjustable, and I am unaware of any different height front sights that they offer.
  13. So I missed ordering just the die for a Dillon powder check from this site for different calibers. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could order just the die so I can just switch the rod and buzzer to different tool heads.
  14. B_Rad why not just pick up the Mark 7 for the 650
  15. I have recently started using case lube while loading my 9mm loads to make things go a little smoother. Today I found some cases I didn't get to load during my last session and had already sprayed with Dillon case lube. I noticed the cases seemed to feel sticky and gummy. I now have a fear that my loaded rounds are probably in the same boat as I didn't tumble my loaded rounds. I have two questions: 1. Is this normal or am I using too much case lube. 2. Whats the best way to clean the case lube off without damaging the coating on The Blue Bullets? I know people tumble their loaded rounds I just don't want to expose the lead on these bullets
