  1. I own a G34 gen 4 and I hate the plastic oem release. If I get an aluminum mag release that is stock length would that be legal? Are there any other options besides the one it comes with?
  2. Are the ZEV aluminum mag releases production legal? I hate the plastic one on my G34 Gen 4
  3. Fixed it all tonight. Turns out that the trigger spring was connected but it wasn't settled into the groove of the cruciform. Once I put it in place everything worked fine. Thanks for the replies
  4. Thanks guys for the help, and especially to larry! I'll take a look tonight and report back
  5. Sorry I'm really new to this platform, but how would I use the pad exactly? Thanks for your help
  6. Mine isn't orange though it's clear
  7. I have one of those base pads that come with the Ghost Glock tool. Is that what you're referring to?
  8. Just did the $0.25 polish job with a dremel and although everything feels smoother the trigger won't reset consistently when manually racking the slide. This happens every other time I rack the slide. I'm very new to Glocks (Sig guy normally) so I'm not sure what part of the trigger assembly isn't grabbing. Did I overpolish something? Does the safety plunger grab the top of the trigger bar when the slide comes forward or is it the striker?
  9. I'm the only one in my orientation class (12 ppl) and in 3 matches that has shot a Sig. Everyone seems to have a Glock, or CZ for Production. My guess is a combination of the DA/SA and price tag. There are also less aftermarket options. For my P226 no one but Bruce Gray makes a target rear sight. I had to cut out a piece of black electrical tape to cover the dots as I hate standard 3 dot systems. I have however purchased a Glock 34 that I plan on using very soon. I prefer the consistency of the trigger pull and I find I am actually more accurate with it.
  10. Choose the one you're most comfortable with and least likely to have problems. If a mag doesn't fall freely that's going to cause a snag. But then again if it's your first match who cares, just don't DQ!
  11. Thank you all for the feedback. I think I will try Limited minor, despite the points. I know I'll never be able to compete with the scoring system, but clearing out a stage without having to reload sounds too damn fun
  12. Wow, good to know I'll need to buy another gun if I ever want to try limited lol
  13. Sorry I should have said barrel/slide. They're plenty of them on Gunbroker. Would something like this work? Sorry I'm a Sig guy and to convert up/down you just need said barrel/slide/mags. I assume it's the same way for glock?
  14. I purchased a G34 for production and was wondering if there are rules against using a G34 w/ a .40 barrel conversion in limited? I know in production I can't go G35 --> 9mm
  15. Ended up going with the blade tech OWB sting ray for gen 4. The main reason being price and I can switch between offset and standard by simply adjusting the mount. We'll see how it goes, pick up the gun on Tuesday ie: forever from now
  16. I store all my ammo in a generic tool box from Walmart that I purchased for $10. I can fit about 2.5-3k in there. As long as you keep it from moisture and extreme temperature changes it should be fine in any type of sealed plastic
  17. I won a gift card at work for $50 so I'd like to use that
  18. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0093XOSJO/ref=ox_sc_act_image_2?ie=UTF8&smid=A30DGGRQPDAP9Y Is this the one? Looks like you can unscrew the attachment and raise it for IDPA
  19. Do you have a link to the blade tech with DOH? The 1st link I posted I believe doesn't have the attachment
  20. Just purchased a Glock 34 for Production and was deciding between these two: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008D70HVY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1400345875&sr=8-1π=SX200_QL40 http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B009SBXPXQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?qid=1400345875&sr=8-6π=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70 Does anyone have experience with either holster? The international is twice the amount but I like how it sits further down from the waist.
  21. ^^This I have a pair of yellow prescription sunglasses made specifically for low-lighting situations. Indoor ranges and overcasts. Works great
  22. . I'm pretty new to some of these manufacturers. Are tangfolio based off CZs?
  23. Good buy Jakobi. The Gen 4s definitely make it easier to find the right grip for you. They also add a nice beaver tail too. Just put a down payment on a G34 Gen 4. Now the long road to waiting begins...
  24. Agreed. Especially if you're going to be using your EDC I think IDPA is a good start. They're based on 'real world' scenarios and would be fairly cheap to get into considering you need far less equipment
