  1. Bladetech makes great stuff for the price.
  2. I sold a bunch of other things from other hobbies to buy my first 2011. Not easy but totally worth it.
  3. I highly recommend JP barrels. I run a 16” and an 18” JP barrel in 3 Gun competition. You will not be disappointed with a JP barrel. I have a code to save you some cash at JP Rifles as well. code: 68SS0717 It will save you 10% on JP parts and 5% on complete rifles.
  4. I realize this thread is a little old, but if it helps get you into a JP light contour barrel, I have a JP code you can use on your order. code: 68SS0717 It will save you 10% on JP parts at JP rifles.
  5. Check out the matches at the York Izaak Walton in Dallastown, PA. Big match in June. 7 stages in one day. Totally worth the trip.
  6. To weigh in on the 16 vs. 18 question - I have a 16” JP-15 and an 18” JP CTR-02. Both rifles shoot better than me. For accuracy, it would be hard to find a better barrel than the JP supermatch barrels. Personally, I prefer the 18” gun. Both can easily handle the occasional 500 yard shots we see locally here in the PA/WV/VA/OH area. I just like a little heavier gun, it might help mitigate recoil a little better, it might be mental, but it works for me. JP code: 68SS0717 will save you 5% on complete JP rifles and 10% on JP parts
  7. I’ve gotta agree with Phil. My JP GMR eats whatever 9mm I put in the Glock mags. It’s super accurate, incredibly reliable, and a blast to shoot. In fact, it is one of my favorite guns to shoot. plus...code: 68SS0717 saves you 10% on JP parts or 5% on complete JP rifles.
  8. Think Vortex Spitfire. Perfect red dot for limited gun. Etched reticle, bright dot, lifetime warranty. Done.
  9. Love my DeWalt portable fan at matches in the heat. Clips right onto my cart and IT IS AMAZING. I will be using it tomorrow.
  10. Cheap baby jogging stroller off of Craigslist and some four wheeler gun racks.
  11. I have actually been thinking about this a lot lately. I’ve gotten “busy” and run out of time at the end of the day to fit in dry fire. I’ve been noticing minor things at matches like my dot moves a lot more and I just don’t feel as comfortable with my footwork, etc. to combat this...I’ve been trying to squeeze in a couple minutes a few nights a week to get my hands on my guns even if it is only a few sight pictures and trigger presses.
  12. JP all day. in my opinion, F-1 has really engineered the appearance of the AR....while JP has really engineered the performance of the AR.
  13. I like the ACE skeleton stocks. Moderately priced, light weight, comfortable, and fit me well. Just make sure they have QD sling sockets. additionally, I would recommend checking out as many stocks as you can before you buy one.
  14. I’ve shot the top end models of both rifle companies. They are both nice rifles, but as stated previously, my vote goes with JP - for research, innovation, and long-standing proven results. I have not shot a rifle that I like more than my JP CTR-02. shameless plug - Code: 68SS0717 will save you cash when ordering parts or complete rifles through JP.
  15. There are some great ones out there. One of my favorites is simply placing two targets (steel or paper) on the same plane about ten yards apart. They can be 10 yards away or 50 yards away. Break one clean shot on the first and focus on moving your eyes to the next target while you bring the gun and the sights to it. Break a clean shot on the second target and repeat. I might do a 10 shot string and then move the targets closer or further away. You can also vary the target distance, I.e. one target at 5 yards and one target at 20 yards. And don’t forget to have fun with it!!
  16. Good point. I’ve seen the belts crack where the binding was attached..
  17. Has anyone purchased the Briley Match Trigger for their m2? If so, thoughts? Worth the money? My M2 trigger isn’t bad but considering making the upgrade.
  18. I’ve seen a bunch of shooters using the ratchets on their belts. I have always been a little concerned about it pulling apart or breaking during a stage. Any issues with breakage?
  19. Have you checked out the Invictus Practical one yet? Solid hanger...great company.
  20. Another vote for the JP 18 inch light contour barrel truly hard to beat - even at a higher price point.
  21. Something to consider....which optic company supports 3 Gun the most? Honestly, I’ve tried all 3 and I bought the Razor and I would do it again. Solid optic ....and Ive been throwing mine in barrels more than once a week for years.
  22. verla has provided some solid advice. I would recommend the same. It might take a little bit longer to save up the cash, but it is worth it. My Razor 1-6x is the best optic I have ever owned.
  23. Go shoot a major or a couple majors. My first 3 gun or any type of action shooting match was a major.
