  1. It looks great but where did the serial number go?
  2. GADPA state's match was one of the best in the country and a must attend if you were looking for a technical match that would really test your skills. This is going to be a big loss for IDPA. I just hope GADPA continues to put on that one big, must attend match of the year. You just described most of the major 3 Gun matches around the country. They seem to do fine despite going it alone.
  3. Take the grips off and try again.
  4. I have taken it to mean readi-mags or coupled magazines are out but about anything else should be okay.
  5. Are there different sizes for the different grip modules or is this one size fits all? Any other P320 goodness on the way?
  6. I am hoping to see things pick up very soon. With the release of the P320 and some cool enhancements right around the corner 2015 should be a great year for Sigs in competition.
  7. You can check out Peacemaker National Training Center which is about an hour and a half away. They do some long range as well as 3 Gun (starts back up in March I think). http://peacemakernational.com Lots of pistol shooting in the area as well. More information about those can be found here: https://www.codyhasammo.com/Articles.asp?ID=250
  8. The airport itself is for sure in Virginia and all of the airport hotels are in Crystal City which is also in Virginia. The metro goes directly from the airport to Rosslyn but make sure you don't get on the wrong metro line or go one stop too far because then you are in DC. There are also some good hotels at Rosslyn and as long at you stay on the correct side of the Potomac you won't have any problems. Any idea what matches you would like to shoot? Some clubs shut down for the season.
  9. Reagan (DCA) is still in Virginia. It isn't a problem to fly in and out with properly checked guns. If you stay then just make sure to book a hotel in Virginia as well.

    PO Nine

    Beautiful!
  11. I have a bunch of 7/8 ounce light recoil slugs that will only function about half the time in my A5 unless I really have it pulled into my shoulder.

    CZ 75 Upper?

So buying a SP01 and removing the plunger safety would not be legal because it is disabling a safety. What about putting an SP01 slide on a Shadow frame? It seems like it would be legal to leave out the plunger safety when replacing the slide assuming it's going on a Shadow lower. I am speaking about USPSA Production rules of course. Not sure how IDPA would work.
  13. What did you learn about shotgun versus pistol on optional arrays? I would love to do the type of drill you are describing to figure out the tradeoffs.
  14. I kocked some steel sideways and so did anther guy on my squad. They really need to weld a small line on the back of those stands to ensure the plates don't spin like that.
  15. The UnGlocking Continues – Point of Aim After Area 8 and the FNH 3 Gun Championship (which ended well by the way and an after action report should be coming soon) I took a short break to regroup but have since started up with again with regular dry fire sessions and a bit of live fire range time. Last week I found a few minutes to run to the range to test fire my new M&P 15-22 and practice my pistol skills. Although I found the practice worthwhile and I gained some insights during the session I do feel I could have been much more organized and more effective. New goal: always have a detailed plan about what I will practice during live fire. In other words I want to know ahead of time which drills to run, and track progress for those drills. This session wasn’t nearly as bad as the days when I would just throw rounds at the paper without even taping or having no idea what was happening in detail but, again, I could have done better. I think I have a tendency to try to assure that the people at the bay next to me understand that I am capable of group shooting before I start squirting rounds around the C zone but I need to leave my ego somewhere else and just get the work done. I practiced a lot of drawing and firing two shots into a single USPSA target. My draw speed and first shot have definitely gone down this year because of all of the dry fire. Where 1.1 to 1.3 was pretty common I now find myself mostly in the .90s. My hits on those draws, however, started out low, at the bottom or just below the A zone. Unlike before when trigger control was to blame, this time when I came up for a flash sight picture I was only seeing the rear sights with my front still below my view. My theory is that all of those years of Glock shooting are still affecting my point of aim making me naturally point the muzzle lower than needed so it’s time to work that out of my system. Back to basics again with dry fire. Instead of coming out of the holster for a quick trigger pull I have been focusing on coming out and just getting a good sight picture. I am also spending a lot of time starting with the gun just below where my hands come together during my draw stroke, and just coming up for a sight picture on different targets like simulated plates and poppers. I know that I need to be able to immediately look at and move my gun to any spot with my sights already aligned because right now I regularly find myself hunting for the front sight because its view is obscured by the rear and I am not perfectly in line. I am using a pretty narrow rear sight which doesn’t help my current situation. The next time I set up a gun I would like try a wider and deeper rear notch.
  16. What about the CZ P09 as an affordable option that you can easily find in stock. I have seen a few start building those up for competition.
  17. List option is just shoot Limited and trash the Classifier stage when you get there. I seem to be doing that lately whether I intend to or not.
  18. ...or you need 5 minutes to cut down your full sized grips.
  19. L10 is a good idea. If you want to load up the mags Open minor might be an option. Of course you really wouldn't be nearly as competitive there as you might be in L10.
  20. Nothing prevents you from playing USPSA from concealment. As a matter of fact you can technically do more including using appendix carry in USPSA. for example,

    Just got a P-09....

As long as the hammer and trigger themselves are OEM then you should still be Production legal. If the hammer is custom then you could always swap it out for the perhaps legal OEM CZ UB Comp hammer http://czcustom.com/p07p09czubcomphammer.aspx
  22. I have 3 set up like this. One locks the slide back, the other two do not. I haven't taken the time yet to diagnose why. I have measured them in the gauge to ensure they were legal length.
  23. Just realized I was dropping an "e" from your name Mr. Kelley. My apologies.
  24. How are you getting 23 rounds and still staying in the 140mm limit? I was looking at extensions for my SP-01 and the short extension only adds 2 to the 18 round mags. You need the new CZC followers and springs to get full capacity out of these mags. The basepads alone won't help that much. I am easily at 23 in TS and 22 in the 75 (18 round mags plus extensions).
  25. Why not just put the front sight past the gas block and just behind the muzzle break? I think Patrick Kelly just set one up like this.
