  1. I’ve never met a single person who though that an expensive gun would make them shoot better though. This whole argument is a fallacy that most of the time is perpetuated by people that want to always announce to the world that they “beat people with fancy guns all the time with my stock glock”. It’s some kind of complex that these people have if you really dig deep into the behavioral psychology of it. Yes it’s absolutely true that expensive guns will not substantially improve your shooting ability and especially not so to the degree that these guns cost above your average gun. Meaning that yes a 2011 with a great trigger will give you marginal improvement over a glock but no way in hell does it improve your skill 10 times for 10 times the price. But I circle back to my point, no one is spending $6,000 on the gun for that reason. They simply WANT IT because they like it and can afford it or even those that can’t afford it still DESIRE IT or save up towards it. I’ve never heard of anyone making this bogus claim that they will become a much better shooter because of the gun. I respect all the offers of advice that are aware of this and just suggest that the money could be spent towards things like training or ammo that could improve your ability as long as the person asking the questions said that was their intent to become better. I can’t respect when people are dismissive of someone else’s desires and especially not when they feel the need to interject how great of a shooter they are with a stock gun tooting their own horn. No one asked you about your shooting ability! (Not directed to Dranoel)
  2. I agree is why I bolded the applicable parts of the rule. Just playing Devil’s advocate at the same time, not necessarily to prove it right or wrong from the other side but at least to try and understand their rationale behind it. I’ve grown to hate props at my match because of all the REF. Going to spend the off season trying to perfect a few that I can get reliably to trigger 100% of time.
  3. Definitely set up wrong. The targets far left and far right along the walls up range should have been blocked from view. It’s likely those targets weren’t aligned with he back of wall or tucked close enough to wall.
  4. I’d like to know what the WSB said to be certain but I think it falls under REF as per 4.6.1. It’s possible the WSB could be written in a way that technically might not make it REF. If it said only “Door handle activates drop turner”. Because it’s not saying that opening the door activates it. Someone would be a jerk to be that harsh. I have seen in IDPA before where they knew there was issue with props and specifically said “You have to really pull on this to activate the target” during the briefing because they weren’t going to give you REF because you didn’t pull the activator hard enough to trigger it. Different sport but concept makes you think if it would apply if it was a different type of activator, would 4.6.1 still stand? 4.6.1 - “Range equipment must present the challenge fairly and equitably to all competitors. Range equipment failure includes the displacement of cardboard targets, the premature activation of metal or moving targets, the failure to reset moving targets or steel targets, the malfunction of mechanically or electrically operated equipment, and the failure of props such as openings, ports, and barriers.”
  5. See 2.3.1.1 B , Forbidden Actions can only be to maintain safety and specifically can not force or prevent movement. They mentioned it was a tight shot that some would take while exiting but not yet touching the ground. There may be more to this but on that aspect it’s not a legal forbidden action. In this case your best bet is to first ask “why can’t we leave the shooting area?” And then listen to the response to determine if it’s safety related and a valid Forbidden Action. However, as an MD myself, we make mistakes and I am sure if you pointed out the rule to him privately he would be receptive. I have had too many shooters attempt to point out legality of things during a match or in a group setting in a less than tactful way and sometimes turn out to be wrong. It can get frustrating when someone points something out almost as if they are glad you messed up versus trying to point something out that is incorrect, but in a tactful way in an effort to make us all better at applying the rules.
  6. Someone posted in another thread that they called in today and they said December. The wait is grueling!
  7. I assume loading because Ammobot posted a picture of the CPL2000 at the DIllon factory running an ammobot having processed over 1.5 million cases and that was beginning of October. Would be silly if they weren't making rounds on the RL1100 to test it in the same manner considering thats what it will be used for. Im tracking this post as I am really anxious to get one of these and automate it.
  8. I agree, if we ever did run one again this is exactly the way that I would do it. Lessons learned but at least I got a few ROs out of it. I just wish we had more interested for me even to consider running another.
  9. I’ve scheduled and hosted a RO class prior to standing up my USPSA club. I was told that most clubs just stand up and worry about the RO class down the road after the 1st year so that they can qualify for the free new club offering for an RO class. I was surprised that is the standard and it was suggested to start up a club without having the MD or regular shooters there certified ROs. I didn’t feel comfortable being the match director and not being an RO myself or having other qualified people prior to starting a match. So we even paid the cost for all of our club members who wanted to take the class. Had about 22 attendees with about 10 being members of our range. We had only about 5 people who passed that would go on to be regular shooters at our match. Multiple failed and didn’t return and others were out of state people who traveled to get the cert. We simply don’t have enough interest to meet the minimum attendee requirements to host another class and we definitely won’t be fronting the cost of the instructors travel and lodging knowing that people didn’t take the course seriously enough last time. If I had 10 guys who were interested that were regulars at my match then maybe I would try to fill the other spots with shooters from the section who may be willing to travel to attend, but I’m not going through all that trouble for shooters who don’t attend my match. 10. it wasnt super easy but not crazy hard either. I definitly have never had to trim material. I change my from SAO to double action quite often as I use it with magwell and SAO for 3gun and then standard for production USPSA. All the advice about removing the disconnector is not necessary what so ever. you can leave it as is. You need to just get used to the install for the spring portion. It took me a lot of youtube video views and just personal trial and error before it became easier
  11. I have used fluorescent watch paint for the M&P front sight. It glows crazy. I got it on ebay it was high end stuff like $20 for the bottle. I havnt explored anything though for day time usage

    CZ TSO holster

Red Hill Tactical is great. I have a few of theirs. I use theirs on my TSO when shooting 3gun, but for USPSA there is appeal to the DAA ALpha X race holster. To be honest I dont know that its all that much faster than a Red Hill Holster. It's just the upgrade game you get caught up in. You should 100% pair that RHT holster with a Boss Holster hanger from benstoegerproshop. I personally hate the springer precision style holster hanger that RHT was offering for quite a while. I dont know what their default hanger is now. Did you look into that yet?
  13. I think the cajun guys would tell you that on a new shadow 2 probably not much, although some guns are better from factory than others. The intent with their bushing is more of the long term reliability of their part not wearing down like the inferior OEM bushing not being as hard. The bushings make a noticeable improvement on guns that might have 20k rounds through them, where the OEM bushing is worn bad. With that being said, I install them on all my CZs right out of the box because I am an upgrade junky lol.
  14. I have this magwell and may have been one of the first in the US with it a few years ago. I had the magwell and CZ UB specific basepads imported by a friend in the EU. The basepads I used are the MAGWELL Specific CZ UB ones. They also make non magwell varients, neither add capacity. When I use the gun in 3gun I use CZC base pads to bring the mecgars to 140mm. I LOVE the CZC base pads by the way due to being tool-less. If you plan on trying out any others, try them. Ive had the tarans for other guns before but the tool-less is really convenient for cleaning dirty mags post stage.

    CZ TSO Buffer

I went back and forth with the buffers. I'll tell you that I really couldnt tell the difference. Supposedly it does ease some of the force on the internals of the gun more than it will change your perceived recoil effect. But they definitely did cause me a few issues for me a few times which made it easy for me to toss them in the trash. When I was new to the platform it was overwhelmingly recommended across the forums to ditch them for what its worth.
  16. This seems to be the standard reply from CZ when you question anything about the TSO. They did same to me when I had issues with my trigger pull weight. My TSO doesnt have excessive wear at those spots for what its worth
  17. This might still pop up from time to time even if the nitrofin was issue. I had to file some material from inside my frame near the magwell and also I had a magazine with a burr on it near the catch that I had to smooth out. I think it was more of a fluke that an issue. Maybe a little extra heavy coating on the polycoat and just beat up mag.
  18. For the club where I am MD I would try to find a certified RO to fit that squad even if it meant moving someone and asking a favor. Although sometimes my match might not have 50 shooters and we had only 25 and it just wasnt possible, there wasnt enough ROs. At that point we would at least have guys who have shot USPSA before and they will be designated as the RO. If they all declined being able to do it then I would split the squad and they have to join another or go home. I think its a culture thing, but in my area in north east all shooters run tablets and timers as there is rarely enough certified ROs. As Match staff if you anticipate this happening then you need to offer a RO 101 type of class before the match to help get these guys somewhat comfortable and knowledgeable.
  19. I have never seen or heard of anything doing that! Shooting Minor 9mm in Limited puts you at a big point disadvantage unless your very accurate while maintaining top speed. The only rationale I could see someone shooting Shadow 2 in minor would be the following... I own a shadow 2 that sometimes I will put a magwell on along with SAO trigger and use 140mm magazines because I love it as my 3gun handgun. If you had a gun set up that way and didn't want to reload often then this setup could definitely be fun to shoot. Although still it will not be competitive for 99% of people. I end up changing my gun back to production each time I use it for USPSA.
  20. I havnt shot or owned the TANFO but I do own a TSO and I tell people time and time again its the best value for your money Limited gun out there. You can find one for around $1,650 online and even less used. I just bought an expensive 2011 that I do think will be a better gun but no way in hell is that gun going to be 3-4 times better. Maybe .5-1 times better but thats about it. I love that TSO. There is literally nothing you need to do to it other than take it out of the box. Even if you wanted to do anything after market there isnt really much available, which tells you there isnt much to improve at all. Mags are cheap, reliable, solid heavy gun, accurate, light trigger, all the things you can ask for. Hope that helps!
  21. these surveys have been invaluable guidance at least for a starting point for gear or bullet weights etc
  22. I’ve never had an AD/ND either. BUT, it just isn’t needed to be that light to be effective. Being at .5 vs 1 or 1.5 doesn’t give you any speed or accuracy advantage. I just don’t prep the trigger anymore. It likely makes me a little slower bc I’m conscious of it always. If you dig into my comments above, I lost faith in CZ warranty when they told me it’s normal to be this light at 1/3 pound. That’s just not correct. Yes it’s a competition gun with a light pull but I don’t think if we had the head of engineering for the TSO on the forum they would agree that they intended it to be that light. Maybe 1 pound yes but not 1/3. I’ve never seen another handgun with a pull that light ever amongst thousands of shooters and Guns. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I don’t think that is what is going on here... at least not with my post. My trigger pull is 1/3 of pound. As in .333 1-2 pounds is acceptable but something well below 1 pound is not.
  24. As you said, no one is buying a new expensive gun because they think they will shoot better. We buy fancy guns because that is what makes us happy. Not saying your trying to talk anyone out of that but I do see it often. It’s the same as any hobby with wanting the next newest or coolest thing, and there is nothing wrong with it. I think this mindset should bc encouraged rather than discouraged. Get what makes you happy. It’s how we push manufacturers to develop the next coolest thing. If we all kept buying glocks imagine how boring that would be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
