  1. I tried the K2+ just to try the different angle. With the K2+ my middle finger his the corner of the trigger guard so it's not comfortable and I like the larger size of the Ergo Deluxe. I went back to my Ergo Deluxe since it is the most comfortable and allows me to control the gun during reloads and other one handed operations much better. The K2+ is way better than the factory plastic stuff but I'm sticking with my Ergo.
  2. Not a Glock but something to consider, I purchased an F5 50 rd drum for my MPX to try out. The drum was damaged in the shipping because the place I bought it from just tossed it in a bubble pack but in looking at it, it was built like a tank and so it was very heavy. The 50 round drum weighed the same as my 30 round factory mags with TT plus 11 base pads and loaded. So my loaded 41 round mag was the same weight as the empty drum magazine. I gladly sent it back and did not replace it.
  3. This made me get mine out and check what it is now that I have used it awhile. I have the HyperFirer Eclipse and it pulls 1 3/4#. I do run the shoe at the bottom and the engagement surfaces were lubed with AeroShell when I put it together but it's been a long time since the trigger group was taken out and cleaned.
  4. I thought I would bump this up with my findings. I bought some gen 1 20 rounds mags to try out for practice. With my truncated cone lead coated bullets loaded to 1.100 COL I got an occasional misfeed. They were a little better loaded out to 1.150 but not 100%. With my FMJ 124 gr loaded to 1.150" the gen1 mags were perfect. My gen 2 mags run every thing I put in them. It looks like the gen 1 mags can be made to run in a gen 2 gun with the right length and bullet type.
  5. My PSA 9mm broke it's firing pin the first 500 rounds. I replaced it with a Wilson Combat and it has been working great the last 2K rounds
  6. I went with the TTI and I'm very happy. First, I refuse to pay $120 for a plastic printed magwell so I ordered the TTI. I took it out and ran some reload drills and was getting great shot to shot reload times. The TTI fit was perfect, I wouldn't change a thing. OK, I would change one thing, it would have looked cool if it was red to match my Oden mag catch. ?
  7. Or put another way 2% failure rate. ?
  8. If you are like most of us using HyperFire triggers you installed the heaviest hammer springs to get the lightest trigger pull. The extra pressure it takes to reset the hammer with the heavy springs may be slowing your bolt down to where it doesn't cycle as far back on occasion. You may have to retune your buffer system to make up for the change. You could try putting in the weaker hammer springs to test. Maybe lighter buffer, less quarters or lighter buffer spring.
  9. They probably do it for liability to keep some numb nut from installing a .223 brake. The numb nut they are protecting may be their assembly people.
  10. My first 929 had glass bead media inside when I pulled the side plate. New break in method. ?
  11. I saw something similar happen to Elliot in a match, I think it was in Vegas. Turned out the double action sear was getting stuck back in the hammer. A little cleaning and maybe a little deburring of the slot the sear rides in would take care of it if that's it. Tell the wife the new MIM sears with all the extra clearance aren't prone to this failure and you need the 8 shooter. Just noticed the date on this, I guess it's been resolved ?
  12. You should be getting 40 to 50 more fps from the 5" gun. Your 225 @ 840 is 189 PF if you got 40 fps more from the 5" gun that would be 198 PF. I don't know what you are using for powder but usually a slower burning powder will help with extraction problems. Have you run the 5" gun on the chrono? Does the 5" have a regular or short cylinder? Try a slower powder down around 170 PF.
  13. I spent a bunch of money on my AR9 changing and experimenting with different buffers, weights and springs and finally thought it felt pretty good and ran flat. Then I got an MPX and the difference is amazing. When I shoot one on a day and then the other another day it's hard to compare but when I take them both out and run them side by side there is no contest, my MPX is softer and flatter shooting. I have had no issues running a range of different power factor rounds. I have run about 2500 133PF rounds through the MPX without a malfunction. At this point I would dump the AR in a second except I have too much tied up in it. The MPX ran right out of the box, that has value right there. I did dump the crappy factory trigger and installed an Eclipse. I'm waiting to see if any of the terrible stories about the Hyperfire trigger failing come true but so far so good but I'm still pretty low mileage on it with just 2500 rounds so I'll have to wait and see how it holds up. I have cleaned the MPX twice just to check it out but nothing to note. I guess I should run it till it starts to fail just to see how long you can go in between cleanings. I think everyone has to figure out their own cleaning schedule since the cleanliness of your ammunition is a big factor.
  14. It's just sad what has happened in some of the states. I used to jump through the hoops and read all the rules to travel to some of those matches but I decided I would no longer leave the free states to go to competitions. It's not worth the risk and hassle and it just takes all the fun out of it so there is no point since I only did it for fun.
  15. I am also loading the 124 Ibejihead bullets I mentioned above to 1.10" OAL as well. Since my AR9 is a PSA as well with the really short throated chamber I went to the CN FB 124 bullet which helps with the PSA short throat chamber. When I got my MPX I just feed it the same ammo to see and since it ran flawlessly in it as well I saw no reason to monkey around with a different load. The power factor is just a few points higher in the PSA with the little bit longer barrel. It runs clean and feeds reliably.
  16. I have been running the Ibejihead 124 gr in my AR9 and MPX with no problems at all. I have been shooting Ibejihead bullets in my revolvers for years and have gotten better accuracy from them than shooting MG bullets. I haven't bench tested my MPX yet for accuracy but I have had very good groups in my revolvers. The Ibejihead 124 feeds flawlessly in my AR9 and MPX. https://www.ibejiheads.com/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=36&osCsid=dcf674e849fd016cee405ef22cf6fc14 I have done a lot of comparisons and measuring of a lot of different bullets and brands over the years and found that the only thing that matters is how they shoot out of your gun. Sure the jacketed bullets usually have slightly less weight variance but when I have shot for groups I have found that those slight variances didn't keep them from shooting some great groups. Plus with the Ibejihead I can specify .356, .357 or .358. in the 9mm bullets. In the past when trying to get the most out of some revolvers I asked Alex with Ibejihead if he could make a special size that he didn't have listed and he quickly sent me some of the custom diameter that I had asked for. I have been very happy with the service and the products.
  17. Well I got curious so I grabbed a random batch of 500 and sorted through them checking the jackets and found 8 more. Not very scientific but that comes out to 1.6% If I get time and it quits raining I'll try to shoot some from a bench just to see if it makes much difference. For jacketed bullets they are fairly cheap so probably not a bad deal, may want to sort for a match and shoot the culls in practice.
  18. I got some of these Everglade 124's. I don't know how often these defects happen since I didn't sort through the box yet, just grabbed a batch to load a few and try them out and found that some of the jackets have been crumpled up in the back. I'll have to sort through some to see how often it happens.
  19. There are a lot of different stock options on an MPX that may change this. The factory I beam stock on mine was very uncomfortable and had no good place for a cheek weld so I put a regular AR buffer tube and stock on mine which raised my head a lot from the stock configuration. I'm also running a 510 optic
  20. With most Chinese stuff that is this cheep it's always a crap shoot, you may be able to order the same one and get a good one. The dog thinks it's really cool. ?
  21. I bought the bottom one and while it's pretty bright it will not hold any kind of zero. At 20 yards it moves 5 to 6" with every shot. It's a cheap toy but not of any real use on a rifle.
  22. I have rapidly shot through four 40 round mags in just a few minutes and not had any problems with my 9mm minor loads. I think the 5.56 rounds would be much hotter but I don't see any problems for 9mm. I'm happy so far.
  23. I just snatch the bag off, it takes less than a second to pull it off its detent. I pull the bag off and drop it in my cart, show clear and insert my flag. It's a lot less work than being a brass chicken.
  24. There is a lot of adjustment to the bags mounting point so even with a C-more mounted over the port there is enough adjustment to make it work.
