  1. I have the DW CCO (which has a 4.25" bbl). Its my EDC. The only issues I had were the front strap stippling and the grip panels. No issues if my hands were completely clean and dry but not so much if my hands had any sweat on them. I switched out the panels to something more aggressive and put a strip of the Talon rubber grip tape on the front strap. Its perfect now. Accuracy is less than an inch at 10 yards and I've only tried 2 different types of ammo in it. DW is coming out with a new model that has 25 LPI checkering on front strap and mainspring housing but its expected to be more expensive. I got the CCO from Bud's for less than $1300 shipped a few months ago. Seems like their price changes almost everyday from slightly below to slightly above $1300.
  2. Factors that I can think of: Recoil spring weight Mainspring weight Firing pin stop: square or beveled? Slide to frame: how tight is it? The length of the brass can also make a difference. Shoot a 9mm and 38Super/SC at the same PF out of the same pistol and the 38 brass will fly out a lot farther.
  3. I've had a couple of issues here but they are in vast minority. 99% of the members are GTG.
  4. I sent mine back to Vortex and they fixed it up. Its still stiff enough so you'll never have to worry about it drifting under recoil, but it made a huge difference.
  5. I have 2 9mm limited pistols with the same schuemann barrel. One shoots all of the x-tremes (I've tried all weights except for the 160 grain) very accurately, less than an inch at 18 yards. The other only shoots the larger diameter .356" and .357" 147's well. The lighter .355" bullets are closer to 3" at 18 yards from that pistol. I don't have time to do any load development so I only used them with one powder at the same OAL. Experimenting with different brands and OAL might make a big difference.
  6. Can't speak directly on the AC variable but a local shooter didn't care for how his dot tracked on his trubore with the T2 comp until he drilled side ports in all three chambers. The difference in price is negligible so I'd get the cuts done.
  7. You can put whatever die you want in there if you're not actually swaging the primer pockets. If you're swaging the pockets, you need something to push down on the brass (against the swage) or you'll probably crack the shell plate after a while.
  8. Someone said they made major with it a while back. I couldn't come close with a completely full case. It's great for 38SC. The only drawback is that it is reverse temperature sensitive. Colder = more FPS.
  9. You can't load enough 105 in 9mm to blow it up. I used 105 with 125 grain bullets at about 169 PF out of a shorty with 4 small barrel holes (brazos pro sx). That same load produced 175 in a full length pistol without bbl holes. So, unless you're using a hybrid bbl with a bunch of large bbl holes, you can make major with 105 in 9mm.
  10. I had 2 G35's and I wouldn't buy another Infiniti. They have a lot of sizzle and reliability (never left you stranded) was great but they cheap out on certain aspects/parts/warranty work. The only dealership in my state made it an art in avoiding warranty work. My wife had a Acura TSX for 9 years. The only thing that went wrong were the power door locks (widely known issue). I'd go with the Acura, hands down.
  11. Every tube is different and even if your tubes are tuned and you have the right guts, you still might not get 22. I've gotten 22 in a Rescomp tube with Bolen (TTI) guts and 3mm pad but it was so tight that I couldn't lock the mag in. Even if I were able to lock it in, I'm sure the grip would start cracking around the mag catch hole eventually. With a stock STI tube and the right basepad and guts, 20 rounds would be a good result, IMO. 21 would be an excellent result.
  12. Yup. My bud just got a trubore and several stock STI mags. I was impressed with the mags. They're MUCH better than they were several years ago. I wouldn't spend the $ to tune the new ones up.
  13. You can also push a q-tip through the primer tube with the plastic rod. I do this every year (along with my primer pick up tubes) and it usually comes out pretty black.
  14. There is a primer slide stop at the rear of the press. I'd loosen/tighten the allen bolt holding it in place as It might be short stroking or going too far. Pull the primer tube out and check the plastic primer guide at the bottom for burrs/damage. The other thing I would do is place a very light bullet (or some kind of weight) on top of the plastic primer rod. That will help 'push' the primer into the primer slide.
  15. Chuck/the guys at SC wouldn't make that up. If they did get them converted by someone afterwards, the price would be a lot higher. They've gotten VIPs in 38 super, also. IIRC, you can get special runs from STI as long as you order 10 minimum (although that may have changed).
  16. I used the x-treme 220's in a 5" and loved it. Recoil was very soft and I didn't notice any sluggishness. Accuracy was so-so with Solo, and Titegroup but was excellent with WST. YMMV.
  17. If your pistol won't shoot factory rounds with 100% reliability, send it back to the factory or the smith who built it.
  18. I have them in all of my pistols I use for USPSA. Very easy to fit and you never have to worry about it losing tension, etc.
  19. There might be some differences between the different powders. I load 9 very long (~1.2" with 124 grain) and I've noticed closer to +8-9% when going from 9 to 38SC (at 1.24"). You'll need a smidge more powder for Super (compared to SC) so I would bet that you'd be closer to +10%.
  20. All at 1.24" OAL with SPP 4.25 grains TG 171.8 PF 4.3 grains WST 174 PF 4.45 grains SOLO: 175 PF 4.3 grains of Clays: 169 PF
  21. I use then for everything also. The 223 wouldn't fit on my RL 1050 so I bought at super 1050 for the die, LOL.
  22. They shoot very soft. I have some data at home but loaded very long (1.245"). I'll post some tonight, if I remember.
  23. Slow Jet glue? Is that slow setting super glue? But does it come of when you're ready for it to come off? I've never had to take it off so I'm not sure if the glue comes off with the tape. I only use a few very small dots of it along the edges so even if it doesn't come off, there won't be that much to worry about anyway.
