  1. You might even try a little less than 10 grains and see if you get the same velocity. With so many holes and how slow 3n38 is, you're only going to get so much burn... I'd wager 9.8 will get you something very close to the same PF.
  2. OAL is 1.268". I'm not saying that that's your issue but 1.268" is long. I'd try loading your rounds at something closer to 1.235" and see if the issue goes away. If you do shorten the OAL, you might also consider lowering your powder charge a couple tenths and re-chrono.
  3. What is the OAL of the rounds? If they're too long, that can cause them to drag.
  4. Titegroup is a relatively safe powder to use despite the narrow window. Its in a different class compared to n310, clays, etc. However, it burns very hot. Its one of my last picks for lead and some moly coated bullets as you'll get a LOT of smoke. Powder availability seems to be improving. You might consider other powders around the same speed as titegroup.
  5. Does the limited pistol have an STI frame? Did the SV mags drop free with the original (I'm guessing polymer) grip? STI and SV cuts their frames differently. The SV has a little bevel where the magazine seats into the bottom of the frame.
  6. x2 I would consider a v4 or a v6 at most with a mid to full length barrel in 9mm.
  7. My newest 1050 is about 1.5 years old and it came with the rubber tube. I like the idea of the brass bushing, though. I'll ask about getting a few with my next dillon order.
  8. I tried this combo and only get 28 reloadable. If I go to 29 I get a follower tilt. Any recommendations? I tried the ISMI/Dawson follower combo a while back. I couldn't get 29 with it in an STI tube either. It was consistently half a round to a full round less than the grams or bolen/TTI guts in both STI and SV tubes. Try the grams guts. They are rock solid reliable and the springs last much longer than any other I've tried and I've tried them all (bolen/TTI, ismi, stock STI, stock SV, first gen MBX.) I have 3 mags set up with grams but I keep getting rounds sliding by the follower. I tried the Dawson follower and it seemed to help. I'll try the grams again. Is it at the very bottom when the mags are close to/fully loaded? With STI tubes, the ribs don't go down far enough and you might have to use a spacer like the the one arredondo makes.
  9. Zero. Things to check: 1. Make sure that the rubber tube on the back of the primer slide bar is undamaged and hasn't elongated at all which will create a little drag. 2. Make sure that the primer slide bar is going back far enough for the primer to drop into it. There is a stop held in with an allen screw that you can make adjustments with. 3. Check the primer tube's plastic funnel tip for wear/damage. 4. Pull the primer tube and push a q-tip through it with the plastic rod. It'll probably come out a little dirty and that can cause a little drag.

  11. I'd go with the 5.4" with a short dustcover. Longer sight radius and its probably going to balance fairly close to a 5" with a LDC. If its too light (hard to imagine with the steel grip) you can always add a tungsten rod.
  12. I shot open a couple of matches ago because I didn't have any loaded ammo for my limited pistol. The open ammo was loaded about 4-5 years ago and the case lube was very sticky. I was somewhat worried but had zero issues. I never worry too much about the cleaning the bore but I do try to keep the chamber clean. (I have a nylon bore brush chucked into a cordless drill and run that in the chamber for 10 seconds or so when cleaning the pistol.) There is a noticeable difference in the 'plunk' test between a fouled and a clean chamber. There's no reason you shouldn't try to keep the chamber clean, if only to eliminate this factor. If you're not having any issues with the same barrel in a different slide, the extractor is where I would look. I've never had a stuck case but get yourself a plastic squib rod and you should be able to tap that case right out. It would be much easier than trying to grab the rim.
  13. i always found that it took +.2 or .3 more n320 v. titegroup.
  14. Powder Valley has 4 lb jugs in stock. Even with hazmat and shipping, it'll be a little less than $40/lb. Order a few more lbs and/or some primers and you'll be far ahead. I love n320 but there are several other powders that works just as well for a lot less $.
  15. The extra weight of the barrel makes a big difference in feel. Some smiths are adding tungsten sleeves to their barrels. If you're worried about it being too heavy, go with a short dust cover (especially in 9mm). You can always experiment with lighter/heavier guide rods to change the balance/handling. You can also do a large ball or plunge cut in the rib to reduce more weight, if needed.
  16. I put a piece of contact tape on the guide rod head and go up in weight until the reverse plug doesn't make contact (or just barely) with the head of the GR. I then back down a pound and run that spring. Like Bob, I like the feel of heavier springs but I don't want to mess with short stroking. I don't seem to keep my pistols long enough for it to really matter but this ensures that the frame doesn't get battered at all.
  17. Arredondo makes an insert that sits in the basepad that gets rid of that step: http://www.arredondoaccessories.com/category.cfm?cid=1001,2013&PID=fc25l4900rdqps&GID=INS
  18. Yes. No issues with the plate/tumbling/etc. Wasn't quite as accurate as Zeros or MG's but accurate enough for practice. You can also drop the powder charge as they're much faster than jacketed.
  19. If I was gonna do it again, for the same money or less as a DVC I'd get an Apeiro in 40 (have one in 9). The slide lightening on the DVC is very slightly more than the Apeiro. So really all you get is a better out of the box trigger and the modified grip. The hard chrome on the DVC is a plus, imo.
  20. Check your right thumb, also. My grip is so inconsistent that my right thumb will rub against the cocking serrations from grip to grip.
  21. You might be thumbing the slide?
  22. No vertical pin hole. Here's a pic I sent to DP.
  23. Called Dawson and emailed pics of the slide/sight to them. Just received a reply that they are willing to make a sight for me but it'll take about a month as they're slammed. I definitely appreciate their willingness to help. I'll keep you guys updated.
