  1. Just curious if anyone knows what happened to Matt's website? I had it bookmarked and then one day the link no longer worked. I googled his website and the link that I came up with didn't work either.
  2. Hey that's not right, I never made fun of your squad. Back to the thread. I hate it when someone isn't treated respectfully at the range. I hope it doesn't get to you as the sport always loses when good people walk away.
  3. Are you looking for Kim Eveland or someone else. I can pm you her contact number if that is who you are looking for but she doesn't work for Beretta. Their PR stuff is contracted out.
  4. That is wrong on some many levels that it defies logic. Reading this thread it makes me greatful for the wonderful working realtionship I have with the guys at EGW.
  5. Novak EGW Cylinder and Slide Don Williams Ted Yost Ten Ring Precision Apex Tactical Jim Garthwaite Karl Sokol Choose your poison. All do outstanding work.
  6. All of the above but mostly I like the people involved with IDPA here locally. I have had the fortune to shoot at a fair number of clubs here in the NE and 99.9% of the people who I have encountered have been really nice people. You get the odd jerk here and there but while it's fun to participate in a sport you love it's even more fun to do so with good people.
  7. Does this mean the end for the 45 gap in the XD? No. Since the 45 gap fits the current XD frame so well I doubt that it will go away. Not everyone has hands big enough for a 45 acp XD. I do know that I'll be buying one of these bad boys as soon as they come out.
  8. I have to go with hate at this point in my life. Since I tore up my knee in 1995 I no longer ski. To me nowadays snow is nothing more than a serious road hazzard. If you could promise me that snow wouldn't fall on the road ways I would go with like.
  9. Unless things have changed very recently Kart doesn't make a bull barrel.
  10. If they are going to make both versions then they should offer the version without the magazine safety to civilians. I have no fear of getting locked in a death struggle with a bad guy over my sidearm. To me the feature is 100% totally useless. I just wonder why if the feature is so popular amongst LE agencies why they are even bothering to offer the gun without the mag safety to them.
  11. I am curious as to why they would offer the gun to LE without the magazine safety if they see a future in that market. I just wish those of us who have no need ofr it would have the option to order one without it.
  12. A couple of weeks ago I picked up a 2011 frame from Chuck at shooters connection. When I get around to it I will send it off to Virgil Tripp to build as a limited gun. I was wondering of those of you who have built a limited gun on a 2011 frame which bull barrel do you pick.
  13. I shot the Ct. State IDPA match with a couple of the Smith & Wesson shooters. In between stages I asked Tom Yost and Jim Dalton about the M&P and they were very bullish on the gun chances of success in production. They both mentioned that the trigger would be very easy to tune. I have been shooting a Glock 35 in production but if this gun is as hot as everything I have read and heard about it I'd be willing to switch.
  14. IMHO you are not PC but 100% correct. When my great grandparents came to the states the first order of buisness was to learn the language and integrate themselves into society. They correctly recognized that the chances of success for their children were tied directly to their ability to assimulate the American culture while retaining some of theirs. In todays society we seem to have the tail wagging the dog. We don't want to hurt anyones feelings so we no longer expect children to actually master the language. While it is somewhat understandable for the children of immigrants to have difficulty with the language (up to a certian point) there is no excuse for a child born and raised in this country to have the same issues. It really is sad when you get right down to it.
  15. Is the 41 ounces with or without an empty magazine? Two ounces is going to be har to come by legally. It is too bad becasue I doubt CZ would import the Combat II just to satisfy IDPA shooters.
  16. I guess if you are trying to simulate a situation where you are carrying at night and suddenly faced with a threat it would make sense to start with the flashlight stowed. After all who walks around with their flashlight in their hand when they are out at night and trouble isn't at hand? At the Ct state match in October they had two low light stages. The first had you standing in the shower with your unloaded gun and flashlight in the bathroom vanity drawer. At the beep you had to exit the shower, don a bath robe, retrieve your gun, load it, grab your flashlight and then find and engage the threats. The second stage had you standing at a door with a briefcase in your strong hand and your flash light stowed. At the beeb you dropped the briefcase, drew weapon and flashlight, opend the door and engaged the threats. IMHO it makes sense to have stages where you have to do both.
  17. If it were me and I had next to no trigger time on the platform I would buy a Springfield Milspec and shoot the heck out of it. Nothing worse than spending money on features that you don't need or don't work well for you. Once you have a feel for the gun start to figure out what you like and don't like about the gun. Change the things you don't like and leave the things you do. In the end you end up with a gun that is just right for you. Nothing more and certianly nothing less.
  18. Thanks Matt. My interest in the Combat II has more to do with the fact that it seems like it would make wieght. If the tactical does with the three rail cuts my interest in the Combat II is moot.
  19. Jake is there any chance you might be able to weigh that bad boy with an emprty mag to see if it makes weight for production? Matt, do you know if CZ is going to import the gun that Adam Tyc used at the WS? I called CZUSA yesterday and they had no clue what I was talking about. I am in the market for a new production gun.
  20. Much like golf you can't win the match while on the course you can only lose it.
  21. I neglected to mention that I am left handed and the right most target is the last one that I engage.
