  1. I would like to use federal small pistol. I just bought a revolver which needs them. I have loaded small rifle primers too but I can’t remember if I had the same issues. I’ve put an order in for a new shell plate, primer punch, primer punch spring, primer arm/cam springs, updated primer slide and more primer tube tips. Apparently the primer slide has been upgraded twice in recent years with different primer hole and a brass roller. I live in Australia so postage kills me if I have to make lots of separate orders to try and troubleshoot things. L
  2. yep seen that, thanks though. I don't seem to have a problem with primers dropping into the primer slide, maybe 1 in 1 thousand have no primer at all So I have ruled that out. The sideways crushing happens to maybe 5%. I ran 100 through last night and pulled them out the back after priming and I got 4 crushed primers. The machine didn't feel unusual before it happened that I could tell. I'm going to order a new primer punch. Sometimes my primers have marks towards 1 side. I can't visually see that it isn't flat but someone else was the same and it helped.
  3. Yeah I think I've read everything which is why I've replaced the parts that I have. Most of the problems people have seem to stem from 9mm cases not getting swaged right. Swaging isn't my issue, the primer punch looks ok and my shell plate is straight. Primer tube magazine tip is new, the rubber hose has been replaced, the primer slide tray is silky smooth. I was hoping someone could point out something Ive missed.
  4. I offloaded my year old 650 and bought a second hand 1050. So far I am not happy. I always end up pulling apart 30-40 rounds that have primer problems When I load a 1000 round batch. They are usually stuffed in there side ways But I'll get the occasional one missing or upside down. I have ensured it is spotless, new primer mag tip, new slide rubber, solid bench. I dont know what else to check. I used federal small pistol primers and starline 38 super brass with no crimp. I removed the swage station and stuck a Lee decapping die in number 2 to ensure everything was being deprimEd. Any help appreciated. I've done a ton of reading to no avail.
  5. Nope. it's all the same. I use no p for major.
  6. Got a new trojan a month or so back. It has been piercing federal primers with some consistency which were fine in my old trojan. It had a trigger job done and the firing pin spring was shorter so I replaced it with a new one which helped a little but it is still doing it. Tonight I measured my firing pins and my new one measures at .59" while my old one is .67. A quick google tells me .67" is the right diameter. Would a smaller diameter cause piercing? Thanks, Dan
  7. Where are you putting them? I just pour them from the separator into the tumbler.
  8. It takes 20 seconds to move the mbf dropper between tool heads and set it up. I just have 1 dropper die. You raise the ram and screw it down until a bullet drops. Then hand tighten the lock ring.
  9. I'm having flipped and crushed/sideways primer issues and I have removed the swaging bits. I load 38 super Starline brass with no crimp. New rubber tube, new plastic tip, cleaned well, correct primer tube, federal spp. I getting sick of using my bullet puller. Any tips?
  10. Crisis over. Strain screw must have loosened up.
  11. I hope our local distributor has them in Stock. I'll be annoyed if I paid an extra $400 for nothing. especially now that the gun is broken. The firing pin isn't doing anything. I shot 100 rounds this morning and getting 2-4 light strikes per clip. Now it won't fire at all. The pin isn't even coming out of the frame unless I dry fire it then push on the hammer.
  12. Thanks guys. I'll do some experimenting this weekend.
  13. This weekend I want to tackle my depriming problems. I'm getting primers not decapping no matter what I try. I've used several different standard pins, new decaying rods. Had anyone got photos of how they have profiled their pins to help stop the primers sucking back in? At the moment I've removed my swage rod and have a Lee decapper in station 2 picking up the slack. Brass is non crimped 38 super.
  14. Thanks, I wonder if S&W are still selling the factory supplied caps or if I'm getting the run around from my gun dealer then. I spent an extra $400 buying new because the used one she had didn't have the end cap. I'll see what Dillon say then get in touch with Bob. I live quite far away so I'm used to gettng shafted with postage but $110 is the most I have ever been quoted for postage. I needed some decapping pins anyway so it's not the end of the world.
  15. Thanks guys. I put an order in for a daa racemaster yesterday. Hopefully it's better than the one I had for my Trojan. I tried to order a North mountain clip holder but they wanted $110 postage. I've requested a postage quote from Dillon who stocks it also. My jm springs, extended firing pin and tk clips should be here this week. Looking forward to giving it a run in icore. Does anyone know if the 929 end cap fits the 627? Mine was missing and the dealer said she ordered another one but I wouldn't have thought they would be abailable anymore.
  16. Tactical solutions makes them. I think brownells stock them. http://www.tacticalsol.com/22lr-conversion-magazines/2211-10-round-magazine
  17. The racemaster insert swap won’t work for me. I’ve got it on my IPSC open rig so I’d either need to remove the mag pouches to fit the moon clip holder each time or move the holster to a separate belt each time and swap out the inserts. When we shoot bianchi matches we shoot 1 match straight after the other so I’d need to swap things around in between which is something I want to avoid. Any idea which bladetech model will work? They list models for 627’s but specify a 5 or 6 inch barrel length. I’m not concerned about dropping the gun, moreso the price. I’ve got around $600 AUD into my other 2 rigs and am hesitant to spend that much again.
  18. Thanks guys, what holsters are everyone using ? I use a Safariland and DAA racemaster for my single stack and open guns but thinking something like a bladetech might be the go. Can I get one to suit any 5 inch or 6 inch 627 given that it is a bit longer?
  19. Do you have a better photo of the slide stop? Did it happen with he original slide stop fitted? If I switch over slide stops between my edge and trojan the trojan gets hard to rack. The new trojan in 38 super I bought 2 weeks ago needed 10 rounds to run it. Cases would only fall out of the gun until my 2nd mag then it was like normal.
  20. I finally picked this gun up yesterday and got to shoot a few hundred rounds at a plate rack. It seems pretty accurate with my 1911 minor PF load using 125 grain coated lead conicals in .356 diameter. It will clean a plate rack at 25 yards without any problems. I'll try and shoot some groups this afternoon but I reckon it might be fine for my needs without working up a 2nd load. I like my first revolver. Now i need to invest in more clips and a rig.
  21. Can you take the plate out of both case feeders and compare the differences.
  22. Looks good. You can get different mounts for optics on the ts kit. Mine is a cheely Mount. I usually shoot it on my single stack because double stack mags were even more expensive.
  23. After a bit of a googling I read that the android bluetooth "is too smart" for the app and shotmaxx so it isn't reliable. I sold mine and bought a CED to record multiple strings instead.
  24. Let us know what it is like. I can't seem to find any information about the different pockets it has. I've had a couple of eberlestock packs and the quality is excellent but none had enough pockets to use as a range bag. This one looks pretty good and I want to get something bigger than the 5.11 Rush 12 with add ons that I've been using.
