  1. Buy them all like I did, you will get something out of each one.
  2. So guys, many yall know me and this isn't Tanfo porn but had to share. I traded off my G19 yesterday to put a smile on my 5 year olds face. He's wanting to shoot Alphas like his dad;-)
  3. You have to get the small frame grips from EG to fit a Tanfo with a magwell
  4. Cool, I thoroughly enjoy both my 9mm Stock II but when I chronoed my .40 Stock III last weekend I had forgotten how soft it shoots in minor. I want to add a Limited to the herd one day
  5. I've shot my Stock III in .40 in both major and minor PF using 180 and 155 grain bayous. I prefer the 180 especially in minor as the recoil is very soft. The sights almost seem to stay stationary. The 155 were bit snappier and after shooting about 100 rds each I've stuck with 180's. I have got to find some of my load data but I do know I chronoed 180's at a 1.140 OAL using 2.8 grains TG and this was the results below Also here is some load data from a friend that may help For major I'm loading 3.9 grains of TG but I can't find chrono results but I know makes major. The 180's were the most accurate of the 2. Hope this helps. If I find my other load data I'll get it to you. Gump
  6. Yea, it was too much crimp. I had the Lee FCD set wrong. I fixed it and my Dillon is squirting out perfect rounds now. Hardly any fail case gauge and if they do its just barely so I throw them in the practice bin. It's taken many nights in my reloading cave to get my 9,40, & 38 super loads correct but now that I do, it's a 15 minute quick change to a different caliber and loading is easy
  7. I know it's a long shot but does anyone have an extra set of EG grips to fit a Gold Custom with the magwell? I took the pair off my Stock III and have no grips on it now. I have a pair of Silver EG grips (large frames) that are basically brand new or a few pair of large wooden ones. I'd prefer any color EG for trade but also will trade wooden for set of small frame wood grips. Thanks Gump
  8. I've got one in both but thinking of switching back. I really liked at first but you do need long fingers
  9. I'd say they are like cousins, maybe brother/sisters. They both have a lot of similarities between the stock II and CZ. Both great guns. Cz triggers I think are better but I think the ergonomics and just all around feel of the Stock II can't be beat but Atlas may say I'm a little biased:-)
  10. I know of a Stock III that may be up for grabs in .40 if it tickles your fancy. It's the black one in this picture.
  11. The magnetic block for the DAA Racemaster is AWESOME!!! That holster fits like a charm and I don't see me having to fit it whatsoever
  12. I have both. My 2 Stock II's in 9mm are favorite but I do wish I had one in .40
  13. Well we are nearing completion. DAA Racemaster holster came today. I am gonna polish the slide racker to give it a stainless look and get some black EG grips so I can put these back on my Stock III. Planning on running Open in November since there's a lull for me between majors.
  14. It shot well I think. Can't really compare to anything since only other load I shot out of it blew the head of the grip screw off, LOL. I am still shooting production for now. Once I finish the Gator Classic and finish all the tweaks and get all the accessories for open gun I'll test some different powders. I NEVER thought I'd say this but if I enjoy this open gun as much as I have the few times I shot it I just may have to sell one of my 9mm Stock II's and get another Gold Custom:-)
  15. I put the EGW Lee sizing die and the Lee FCD on my 650 and that has fixed the issue it looks like. Loaded about 30 or so last night and all case gauged perfectly. No rings or cases looking bad upon inspection
  16. So with a Tanfo Open, is s certain amount of crimp optimal? These are fresh made .38 super now that I installed my LEE sizing and FCD......
  17. I am enjoying mine the few times I've shot it. Once I get the load right and parts I want on it I will like it more. Now those beside or behind me may not feel the same. I chronoed at the local range last Saturday under a covered metal shooting line and I think a few non competitive shooters pooped their pants after the first shot, lol. It's a LOUD BEAST!!!
  18. I like my Stock III but would have liked another Stock II in the fortay instead. Stock II just are awesome
  19. Beer, I was able to get some chrono done today. This was the second load as the 7.2 grains of AutoComp was not even close. Chrono Tanfo Gold Custom .38 Super ---124 Bayou, 1.240 OAL, 7.4 Autocomp 1) 1295 2) 1317 3) 1324 4) 1322 5) 1320 6) 1325 7) 1326 8) 1314 9) 1312 10) 1307 - Avg 1316 -Hi 1326 -Lo 1295 -SD 9.0 -ES 31.0 - PF 163.2 I'm thinking 7.6-7.7 will make Major
  20. The more I worry about moving up the more classifiers I tank. I should've had the mindset all along as treating it as just another stage but it's hard to do. I've come to the conclusion that I'll move up when my performance says I should. I'd much rather be a C class shooter being competitive with other C class people than an A class getting whipped every match. Whether right, wrong, or indifferent that's my thinking
  21. I shot .40 minor out of my Stock III and it was soft. I think .40 minor out if a Stock II would be nice but I think 9mm is the way to go. I've got 2 stock II's in 9mm and I love them. Atlas: what's a CZ again? ;-)
