Not right now but if I keep enjoying open like I have then I may have to part with another one to get a backup Gold Team, lol PM me if you decide. These things are harder to find then a needle in a haystack. Haha LMAO, yea they are harder than needle in hay stack. It's more just luck and being in right place at right time usually

The Limited is a fine gun, that's what I'm planning on shooting the next few months along with some open for my kinda so called off season. Unless of course Santa delivers #6;-)

Sweet! I would like to install a *thumb rest [generic]*! 2 good looking guns

Well the rumor is that when Santa squeezes his fat behind down my chimney this year he is coming with a Tanfoglio 1911 to add to my collection. Does anyone have any experiences with these particular pistols? If so what mags are you using? I am one of the few people in this world who DOESN'T nor ever has owned a 1911 so a total noob to this. Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated. Gump

I put both the Extrem hammer and one piece sear in both my Stock 2's and believe they are worth it. I didn't test out individually installed but did it all at once. The one piece sear seemed to be smoother and the extreme hammer is supposed to be a tad heavier or so I was told and therefore strikes the firing pin with greater force and with a lightened trigger job that's always good. Again just my own opinions but since putting those in along with having to fix someone else's mistakes, I haven't had any light strikes since.

SPOTTED: Unicorn of all unicorns for sale.....

I've got a Stock III in .40 and I like it but it's my least favorite of the 5 Tanfos I have. The Stock II is still in my mind the best one for Production. -

Akai is an awesome builder

The FPB could be the culprit, let me know how things progress and hopefully can get it worked out easily and quickly

It sometimes takes the springs a little while to set or did in my case. The Henning FP is a tad longer that the EG and ever since I went with it I haven't had a light strike with the EG light hammer spring and firing pin spring. No coils cut off, nothing. Course I had the light strike bug for months so maybe the shooting gods gave me a reprieve for now, LOL

EAA/Tanfoglio Chop Shop - NO SELLING OR TRADING

Well I got a hold of a mag gauge this weekend and this pic below is good, plenty of room in gauge. This is a Shockbottle that someone made. The regular aluminum stock ones on the big EAA mag is way too long. Here's a little comparison between the one that was made for me and the regular Tanfo Shockbottle base pads -
I really like the looks of the open guns but I don't shoot open and not sure if I ever will. I would like to shoot one though. Now the limited gun is one I could get behind if I hadn't bought a custom MCG-M2i limited gun. Although I could use one as a backup gun, hmmm.... I thoroughly love my V12. I've shot some custom open guns and won't deny that they're much nicer but for the price I couldn't be happier with getting an open gun with everything for somewhere around $2100-$2200 total give or take. I plan on shooting it more but I just love my Stock II even more, lol

I honestly have never had a jam in any of mine, few times it was mag or not case gauged ammo. They make a more powerful extractor spring, couldn't hurt if you're having these jams on more than one occasion

I thoroughly enjoy my Limited. I had a stock 1 previously and it was like the limited pro as it didn't have the full dust cover and I sold it because I like the heavier pistol such as the Stock 2. Just my opinion but the full dust cover guns seem to have easier recoil management

EAA/Tanfoglio Chop Shop - NO SELLING OR TRADING

I ordered it from EAA, it's a large frame mag. I don't know if they carry small frame cuz never needed to ask. -
EAA/Tanfoglio Chop Shop - NO SELLING OR TRADING
bayougump replied to kneelingatlas's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
Well, a little update. I ran the big stick with the factory base pad (think makes it too long but for practice who cares) and 29 stuffed in ran perfect. The other big stick with the shock bottle pad (I believe this will be within limits but gotta get on mag gauge first) ran perfect with 27 rounds stuffed. Having to use the floor plate on the grams spring to keep the base pad on loses some extra capacity but I will keep testing different combos. Regardless, I'll take 27+1 any day for a reliable big stick but more would be even better:-) -

Aw man it's no biggie. If I can make them work with the right spring combo and anyone's interested in some then maybe I can get some more made -

This is a Shockbottle base pad that's been shortened height wise considerably. It's the only one I'm aware of unless others have modified one. Thanks, I'm anxious to see how this setup works -

Well I still gotta measure or find a mag gauge but optimistic this may work for big stick as far as being within legal length. Using the floor plate I'm sure will give up some capacity but we'll see. When I had the factory aluminum base pads that came with gun along with a grams spring and follower I was able to load 28 rounds easily and 29th round would go in with some effort. We'll just see what happens once I can test these more -
What gun did J.J. Racaza shoot at Worlds?
bayougump replied to Gurkha's topic in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
You have to be basically at the right place at the right time or just damn lucky to get the Stock II in 9mm right now. That is essentially how I got my pair of them. They are truly awesome guns -
Do you need to use the Sprinco in order to use the 8# recoil spring? I finally cleaned my Gold Custom last night since getting it and first off it was unbelievably dirty, still haven't gotten all the carbon out but did remove a lot. I also want to change out sear spring, recoil spring, FP spring, and plunger spring just since I do not know how many rounds were shot thru it before I purchased it and like to start out with fresh springs so I can kinda keep track of the round count using them.

Go to Ben Stoeger pro shop and they've got everything you need. I know this as I've spent as much money on parts and extras and spares and so on. I got a list posted somewhere. Also if you want those EG grips then I'll sell them as no one seems to have any to barter. Tell them Gump sent ya and Tim will take care of you at pro shop. My personal must get list: EG Front sight 2.5mm wide Henning XL Firing Pin Henning guide rod EG hammer and FP spring (light) One piece sear I think Eric hammer worth it but will need to do some fitting with sear and safety but if brave enough to go for it now then do it. 6-8# recoil spring Any questions I'll be happy to help along with rest of forum Gump

So just a .223 shellplate and a locator and I should be good to go?
