  1. I have had zero issues with my CMC 3.5# flat triggers.
  2. apoc said it all. If you are an experienced USPSA shooter then you already know safety and all that. With CO in SC you will be drawing from the holster in the surrender position. You do not need to keep your gun in the holster or mags on your belt. Most shooters come to the box with their gun in a bag and the mags in pouches (not on belt). But some load up like a USPSA match as that is how they are more comfortable. if they are doing 4 official stages of SC then you will get classified in CO when the scores are submitted. Just have fun and be safe.
  3. Well, I am, but I don't know what barrel the previous poster is running/looking to run. If I was building/buying an AR-V for home defense then I would certainly be testing different ammo types in the barrel for reliability.
  4. Had to look at your profile, but I know you too:
  5. Interesting ask... have not tried HPs as all my rounds are RN. It probably depends on which barrel you are using. I have not heard anything about Taccom barrels (since they have the "superfeed" option), but I know that Wiland recomments not using the Federal Syntech 150gr as it doesn't feed well. That ammo is not HP but FP and I imagine it would be similar. I can't speek to the factory barrel as I built my AR-V from scratch and for a specific purpose.
  6. I'm going to be working on a couple of new builds over the winter and with how much I shoot RFRO and RFRI this might be an awesome solution. .22LR is dirty, no matter who makes it. After a couple of competitions the rifle needs a cleaning. I'd love to see what everyone thinks of this as the next step forward in the 10/22 market... https://www.fletcherrw.com/product/opentop-11-22/ https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2021/10/04/fletcher-rifleworks-11-22-opentop-review/ ETA: doesn't look like this will work with the Wiland chassis as the rail sticks out too far...
  7. or if you are interested in 9mm I have a 986 7-shot for sale in the classifieds...
  8. First: I agree 100% Second: Which system? the 3-stage or the DBS?
  9. this was taken at East Coast Steel Challenge Championship by Trenton Mitsouka... love this pic
  10. If you are on FB, look for some of the pictures Trenton Mitsouka took this past weekend at the East Coast Steel Challenge Championship. Lots of great stuff that shows how much gas is coming out of rimfire comps...
  11. This was very well written, thank you. For me, I'm fortunate enought that my AD shoots SC so I'm fairly certain he would represent those interests. One thing that does keep coming up is the RO SC endorsement. I am with the others that think there should be an SC-only RO course for those that don't want the full monty. This is something that should be looked at really hard.
  12. While I only shoot Steel Challenge and PF is not a consideration, I still like knowing my PF of my loads just for reference. ^^This^^ is right on the money. I love having the Taccom in my PCC knowing that IF I decide to shoot a USPSA match I can chrono my pistol and know that the load will be very similar in my PCC since the actual barrels are within an inch of each other.
  13. How about these: https://www.kingshooters.com/bullets-pc-bullets-not-ammunition/80-9mm-3014/pc-9mm-122-grain-flat-point-sized-356-30147126
  14. I would think it woulf have to go on a section of rail and have to use the standard mount. That's how I have it setup on my rimfire pistol open gun.
  15. 1 - thank you for the birthday wishes. 2 - I would love to shoot more in the winter, but money and time don't allow it. Plus after being out at 1 competition or another every weekend for the last 6 months, winter is when I spend quality time with the family and save up for the next season.
  16. I'm using the Holosun 510c on most of my guns. I prefer the 2MOA dot. It's bright, defined and I just like it better. Have used 8MOA and 6MOA dots in the past. For the the 2MOA is great. Kind of an "aim small, miss small" mentality for me.
  17. Another vote for the Taccom. I have the XLW in my AR-V and it's just awesome.
  18. Just wondering if anyone is thinking of shooting this match. I did a few years ago and said I wouldn't go back. But now I'm reconsidering just to get one more sanctioned match in before I shut down for the winter. Looks like low numbers for registration.... https://www.obsteelchallenge.com/nj-state-2021-registration
  19. Recently I have changed the CMC 3.5# flat trigger with a PSA Custom 3.5# curved. I have a "BAD" lever on my 15-22 and found the flat-faced trigger didn't leave much room between the lever and the trigger face. But the PSA 3.5# works just as well as the CMC (which is now in my PCC)
  20. So you have had your PWS back off as well? I looked at the Fortis, but at the time couldn't justify $55 at the time. Although the PWS isn't that much less now that i look at it. If it happens again, I'm going to look at the Fortis K2
  21. Excellent clarification. Thank you for this.
  22. Yea, I looked at that when I got home and made sure when I cranked it down that it's in a good spot.
  23. So as a follow up on this. I spoke with the AD where this particular club is located and he stated that the "high muzzle" rule is a club rule and can be enforced but NOT as a DQ. Basically if you are warned for a muzzle infraction and do it a 2nd time then you are banned from the club grounds for a month. Since you are BANNED from the club you can't be DQ'd from the match, so you get a DNF. Apparently there is a loophole in the rules...
  24. Interesting add to this discussion, this past weekend was Area 7 Steel Challenge Champs. First stage something didn't feel right. Looked down and my PRS ratcheting castle nut had backed off. A significant amount too where the end plate was loose. No one had a wrench so every stage i'm cranking on it with my fingers just to tighten it up. Kind of got in my head and I didn't shoot as well as I would have liked in PCCO. Of course I have a small wrench in the basement, which does me no good on the range. I now have a castle nut wrench in my range tool kit. I hope the PRS doesn't keep backing off...
