  1. Let me ask this question: when you got into this sport, did you keep or sell all your gear/guns which didn't have a home in USPSA? I only started shooting USPSA last September and when I did I sold roughly a dozen guns to make room for the avalanche of new stuff I knew was coming.
  2. I was talking with a revolver shooter shooter at a match who had the shiniest rounds I'd ever seen on his belt; he said he tumbles his loaded rounds with polish and they slide into the cylinder much nicer, he continued: "I would imagine you auto guys would benefit from smoother rounds too, after all, less drag as the round strips out of the mag and when it extracts out of the chamber". It makes sense to me. I for one don't like super light recoil springs because the slide seems to bog down as it strips the next round. If nothing else, a nickel case with a MG bullet shiny as hell would look pretty awesome!
  3. What have you been using as a backstop for your tests? I keep thinking these would be a great Open minor round but I wonder if they would break up when they hit steel targets or ricochet all over the place?
  4. Super dude, did he studder? Voodoo or not, it can't hurt to try the experiment and see for yourself. I'm separating out a few pieces of nickel brass right now!
  5. I'd quit being such a Nancy and order some Captains of Crush!
  6. I haven't had cable in four years, my 73" TV plays only Disney's finest. #dadlife
  7. Hey Frank, wanna sell your #2.5 for $20 shipped?
  8. The large frame bar is not going to work for you, but it won't hurt to put in the parts pile! No, I have never heard of anyone cutting the bar but people do crazy things, myself included...
  9. Oh, and you can definitely polish that sear, just try to keep from rounding it off.
  10. Did you find the broken part of the trigger bow? Was it clearly broken? Or could it have been cut? If you don't want to buy a new one just yet, that one would probably work fine in your SAO pistol.
  11. I would say yes, they should fit in the Production box (227.01mm x 152.40mm x 41.28mm) because they were designed for the IPSC box (225mm x 150mm x 45mm). If you want some, I have one random one to sell you and e-mishka has four in the classifieds for sale.

    "Shadow Line"

Terry, If you're shooting high you need a taller front sight, .260" is 6.6mm, the stock front sight from a Tactical Sport is 7.5mm tall, that should get you dialed in.
  13. I recently shot a match shoulder to shoulder with a GM and I was amazed that he didn't shoot any faster than anyone else, the difference was the way he moved: no wasted steps, no hesitation and he exploded between arrays. That what I was missing, the little voice in my head screaming "move your ass!"
  14. Any 9mm 2011 should shoot factory ammo just fine. I wouldn't know fist hand because I'm a CZ guy. If I were you I wouldn't buy a 2011 without first shooting a Tactical Sport. It's a fantastic pistol, but don't take my word for it.
  15. There are no 2011 pistols on the Production list. The place for a 9mm 2011 would be Limited Minor.
  16. See that's the thing, I do sell guns. When I first started shooting USPSA, I knew what was coming, so I sold about two dozen guns, including a Colt Anaconda I bought for $800 and sold a few years later for $1,700 (I thought it was a crazy asking price, but I had five buyers in ten hours who obviously didn't). I don't pretend my hobby is profitable overall, but I've got a good eye for bargains an cash to jump on them when I see them. It helps take the sting out of the consumables.
  17. I know, I'm like a drug addict, "sure I've got $20K tied up in guns, but I could covert that to cash any time I want..."
  18. When you buy a new gun for $5,000 you don't have an expense of $5,000, you merely converted one asset (cash) into another (guns); consumables and depreciation are the only real expenses.
  19. I've never shot a major match, so I can't comment if it's appropriate there, but I would have bought a mulligan yesterday! The part which worries me is only one mulligan per squad on any stage; I understand the time crunch if everyone uses the mulligan on the same stage or all the unused mulligans get used on the last stage, but I'd be pretty raw if I never got a chance to use it because someone used it ahead of me.
  20. Like gng alluded to, the best minor load in your major gun will be the same powder, she charge, but with a lighter bullet. The won't be 125 PF, but they should shoot pretty soft.
  21. I use my CR Speed WSM II for my CZ Tactical Sport with a thumb rest no problem.
  22. +1 on 9 minor, if it shoots flat with factory ammo, compete with factory ammo.
