  1. How about a little market research for the OP? How much would you be willing to spend on this setup for: -a new build? -to replace your current optics?
  2. All my Tango barrels have been fairly tight right there (some more than others), but try rotating the barrel as you pull it past the breech face. Once you get the right angle it will come out.
  3. I like the wonder finish on a blued frame: But it's like stainless, but a little more gray so I imagine it would clash with a stainless frame.
  4. I would send it back on account of the wonder finish alone. I don't think they'll do anything about the other two issues. The WF slide must look strange in your chrome frame.
  5. Which Tanfo was it? I just got a Hunter and when it came into the shop my FFL was blown away by how little I paid for it. The fit and finish was as good as a Les Baer he had behind the counter (although the trigger is horrible out of the box).
  6. Really? I had always thought the spring should go solid just before the slide hits the frame so that the slide stop takes all the beating? And that shock buffs or the head of a plastic guide rod serves to save the slide stop. I don't have any high round count pistols, nor have I ever broken any of these components, so this is all speculation on my part. I trust you experience Cha-lee but this is news to me?
  7. With stories like this and the insane costs of 2011 pistols/components, why don't more people try Tanfoglios and CZs? My Tactical Sport is tight, runs like a sewing machine and costs half what an Edge does. I even have 2011 guys telling me how great the trigger is. Other shooters come us to me at matches and ask what that is on my hip?!? I just don't get it.
  8. I try not to use the term "bull barrel" when referring to Tanfoglios because there was a time Henning sold bull barrels to replace the cone barrel which comes in the Limited. The factory large frame barrels are either "cone lockup" (Limited, Stock II, Gold Team) or "straight" with a consistent 15mm OD the entire length of the barrel (Limited Pro, Hunter, Match, steel, etc.).
  9. I don't see any reason a Limited conversion wouldn't work on your Limited Pro. Have you tried your Limited Pro slide on your Hunter or Match?
  10. You shouldn't have a problem converting any of your 10mm pistols to 9mm changing only the barrel; I have done the same with no issues.
  11. I'm pretty sure the long slide conversion kits come in matte blued and wonder finish ($10 more for the WF), although if you don't specify it's a roll of the dice. The good news is that the long slide conversions come with the super sight. Also, if you simply buy a long slide 9mm conversion kit, it should fit all three of your pistols. You can also order a Limited 9mm conversion for an up charge which will come with a chrome finish, super sight and a cone lockup barrel. Your Hunter has the same frame as the Limited, only in a shiny blued finish.
  12. If your current slide has the little adjustable sight then no, it would have to be cut.
  13. Mike,I've got a shorty Tanfo project you can compare to my full size Tanfo when I'm done with it.
  14. Not according to the manufacturer's website. Since it's a 6.5" barrel and the ports are at the end, you could have the barrel cut and recrowned and the Wiegand sight base cut into the rib and installed. Probably would end up with a 5-5.5" barrel. Considering you can pick up the Taurus for under $600, might be a good deal. Of course, I could see one of our enterprising revolver smiths setting up this as a specialty service Do my eyes deceive me? Or am I reading S&W guys consitering shooting a Taurus?!? Maybe big things have changed in the past few years since I bought a brand new Taurus which still didn't work right after it's trip back to the factory for 'post consumer quality control'.
  15. When I started reading this thread, the first idea which popped into my head was "burn it out". I wouldn't like the idea of melted nylon in my barrel either but it sounds like you've tried everything else.
  16. Cajun Gun Works trigger return spring, 11.5# hammer spring (long spring like a CZ) and a super light trigger plunger spring (I don't know the poundage because I picked it up from a hardware store but it's much lighter than the lightest one Henning sells. I have a Huenning roller plunger I haven't tried let as well as a ball bearing plunger on the drawing board.
