Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. I have tried a bunch of combos as well and overall I usually only shoot American Eagle or WWB. The Jaeger with the extended tip and the glockworx three spring kit has been a very reliable combo for me. In the last three years I have only had two rounds not go off in my Gen3 34 shooting about 60 different matches. lawdawg
  2. I put a "dot" connector in my Gen4 17. It smoothed out the hard break just a little bit. It's still a terrible trigger compared to the late Gen 3's. My trigger pull gauge has it just under 6 pounds. FYI Lawdawg
  3. It runs great with 40 grain FMJ CCI mini-mags. I was also able to get warren tacticals on mine with a little bit of file work on the rear sight. Remington golden bullet works in one lot for me and works terrible in another lot. 36 grain CCI mini-mag hollow points work pretty good as well YMMV
  4. Ben- Sorry for the confusion, apparantly the bottle I have is older. I got it from a bullseye shooter some time ago. The new name is Firm Grip Powder and is made by Cramer products out of Gardner Kansas. When checking for the new name, Mueller ball handling adherents and Mighty Grip were two other names that came up that were recommended. Amazon.com has some of them. Here is a link for a site that has Cramer products. http://www.collinssports.com/products/searchResults.asp?sec=48&ssec=70&lc=SB Rob
  5. Have you tried the powder stuff called Adhere II. It's what they put on athlete's skin before they put the pre wrap on. It can get a bit sticky if you use a lot of it over the course of a long hot match, but our league night was really steamy last wednesday and it will definately keep your hands dry for about two stages in bad heat/humidity before you have to put it on again. YMMV. Rob
  6. Ok, I have it on a standard Gen 3 and it does have the finger grooves.
  7. Is it legal in production to use a Houge slip on grip sleeve on a G34? According to 21.4 you can use slip on grip sleeves as long as they are within the area as defined by E5 in the back of the rules book. I am hearing both yes and no, and need a final anwser if anyone can help out I would appreciate it. Lawdawg112
  8. I hope your arm gets better. The season is going pretty good, starting to get some good weather finally. Hope to make a holmen match soon. Going to the glock shoot this month and then Area 3 and the state sectional are about all I can fit in this year. Good to hear from you.

  9. Hey Rob, I'm doing ok, I decided to take this year off in the hope that my tendonitis will heal. Anyway that's my story, good to hear from you mang.

  10. Mark, how are you? Hope all is well. PIPS misses your single stack skills.....

  11. 2 Alpha all day

  12. I know Charlie Vanek makes a great product, but I like my recipe better and it's cheaper. I used a V2 glockworx connector, 3.5 lb wolff and a 3.5 ghost along with a 5.5 stock Gen 3 connector. I'm wondering if this G17 has a bad trigger with trigger bar or the housing is messed up. I purchased it new this last winter for my Dad and it only has about 200 rounds of WWB and Fed A.E. through it.
  13. I measured the trigger pull on the Gen4 with the lone wolf, ghost and Glockworx 3.5 lb connectors that I had lying around and they all made it feel way heavier and it measured heavier. Like I said before a stock 5.5 connector from a gen 3 worked out the best and that got me down to about 6.5 lbs. It seems like the new trigger bar doesn't go well with the old connectors. Has anyone tried a trigger w/trigger bar from Glockworx. They want $80 bucks for it, but if it takes up a lot of the pretravel, it might be worth it.
  14. I'm curious about building my own trigger starting with the glockworx trigger with trigger bar that has the "welded tab" behind the trigger that limits pre travel. Has anyone tried these? How much does it limit the normal pre travel amnount?
  15. It doesn't seem like the 3.5 lb connectors work in the Gen4's I have come accross, it makes them way heavier. I'll try a Gen3 trigger/with trigger bar and see if that is the problem.
