  1. Update on the 6": I stroked it! 0.134" increased stroke, I'll give a range report once I get around to loading some 40
  2. My CZs will cycle with anything from an 8# to an 18#, there's a lot of room for experimentation in there. All I'm saying is that if you find yourself waiting for the front sight to return, a few pounds heavier might help.
  3. I'm not suggesting you use such a heavy spring you need to add powder to get the slide to cycle...
  4. I've got a plan for Gump's spare Gold Team barrel, my Stock II slide and my drill press Here's a sneak preview: Instead of the V12:
  5. Good point, the springs are an integral part of the 'feel' of the recoil impulse. When people say they're "waiting on the gun to cycle" with heavy bullets, I suspect if they were running a heavier recoil spring their front sight would snap back on target faster. I know I personally have felt 147s were a little "sluggish" when I didn't change my springs with the load.
  6. If you can get most of your brass back (or can afford to lose it) just shoot Limited with 10mm. With the additional case volume you could run heavier bullets with faster powders than .40 without seeing overpressure signs.
  7. Are you using recoil buffers? What do the FTF look like?
  8. After a little searching, I'm not going to waste my time with 'Lil Gun: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=836 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39472 I guess, if it's not a popular Open powder there's a reason why... I do have lots of SP2 and a pound or so of CFE Pistol, WAC, 3N38, N105, HS6 and Longshot to play around with so I'm better off than most. The only other powders I'd like to try if I ever come across them are AA #7/#9, Silhouette and N350.
  9. Yes, a regular long slide conversion will fit on your Limited
  10. The added difficulty with a full dust cover is that when the slide unlocks the barrel moves back ~1/4", so the sight block would need to fit between the frame rails.
  11. Yes, a Limited Pro already has the slide you need, you would just need the barrel and sight block.
  12. You mean something like this? The Limited Custom slide is for a cone barrel, so you would have to make your sight block with a cone like a Gold Team comp; the easier way to do it is to use a Match , Limited Pro or conversion kit slide and a 6" straight barrel. What caliber are you looking for, I may be able to help out...
  13. There is a guy with 'Lil Gun for sale locally, but I don't really want to buy 8# just to play with, is it good for anything else?
  14. Has anyone ever tried rifle powder like 'Lil Gun or even Varget in a pistol for steel loads? I suspect you would blow a bunch of unburnt powder out of a 5" barrel and you wouldn't make much velocity, but the gas volume should be awesome right?
  15. Edge is 37.6oz on STI's site and TS is 41.9oz on my scale (45.3oz on CZ USA?) The difference is all in the grip.
  16. The nice thing about the TS is you can buy a base pad, spring and follower from CZC, it fits 21 reloadable right out of the gate, fits in the gauge and runs like a top with no fuss (at half the price too!) The only downside (besides the cheesy checkering on the frame) is the pickyness with OAL and bullet profile. ETA: one of my older mags fits 22 reloadable
  17. Don't waste that stuff in a Production gun !?! trade it to an Open shooter for some Titegroup, Clays or something else at the faster end of the chart: http://www.hodgdon.com/burn-rate.html
  18. Yes to all. You can get a large frame .40 long slide conversion for your .45; I did the same to my first Witness: Rich at Canyon Creek has a weld on/glue on mag well for that frame as well: http://www.shop.canyoncreekcustom.com/product.sc?productId=16&categoryId=3

    SP01 Combat ?

No, I went beat a definitive answer out of Amidon a while back: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=196284
  20. That's the $3,000 question Given the choice of any Tanfo for Production I'd pick the Limited Pro 9mm.
