  1. I suspect your doubts come for it not shooting as flat as you expected it to? A lighter bullet, slower powder or a different comp would all help that gun shoot flatter. 115s with HS6 would be a big improvement, 3n38 better still (but twice as much money).
  2. What makes you say that? What's your load? and what comp are you using?
  3. Do you remember the number of ports in the barrel? Or the type of comp?
  4. I'm talking mostly out of my ass, but my experience leads me to believe faster powders are much harder on your pistol (and your joints) than compressed, slower powders at the same PF. I've been stuffing more than 9gr of SP2 in 9x19 cases for three years now and I've gone as high as 10gr. The only issue I've seen when packing that much powder in is more powder resulting in less velocity, not even flat primers.
  5. Dan, do you know the details on Brad's gun/load.
  6. I have a lot of CZ/Tanfos and they all run any factory load I've tried, the only bullet profiles which require shorter than SAAMI spec loads are MG JHPs and some TC bullets. With RN bullets Xtreme bullets they can all load at least 1.160". With RN 115s they can load 1.190" which is longer than the mags can handle. That's 9mm, I reamed the chamber of my TS 40
  7. Yes! The "load as long as you can" comes from 2011 shooters who need to load long to get reliable feeding. If the pistol cycles, roll with it; less powder is a good thing with a non compensated pistol.
  8. They're shaped a little different at the rear of the slide, it'll work, but won't line up cleanly.
  9. CZ Custom, hands down. Order through Stuart (stuart@czcustom.com) he's a forum member, a USPSA shooter and a great guy!
  10. That's why I asked For a guy with a safe full of guns you'd be surprised how few are assembled and ready to shoot at any given time!
  11. Like Hallz, I have no problem racking the slide with the rear sight, but I added the racker to keep it up off the thumb rest. I added the thumb rest when I tapped the frame for optics: The gun hasn't shot Limited in years
  12. I've tried it, but using 115s I could only get to 164pf before velocity starting dropping off with heavier charges. 124s would probably be OK depending on how fast your barrel is.
  13. I prefer consent in all me social and economic intercorse Vlad, it you don't want to use Bitcoin, I'm not trying to force you to. I never said I WANT people to agree with me, I want to see WHO shares my preference, which is clearly not you and that's OK.
  14. That's funny right there I didn't start this thread to argue with members not using Bitcoin, but rather to see which member share my enthusiasm for it.
  15. You can get most back at indoor matches, but outdoor its a real hassle to get more than half back. I have both and won't shoot 38 outdoors if I can avoid it.
  16. See that's the thing Dave, it was volatile while people were looking at it like a commodity, thinking you could get rich day trading it; now that acceptance has grown (Amazon, Overstock, CVS and Expedia are the most notable) and people are actually using it as money, the exchange rate to USD has remained pretty stable for the past 10 months.
  17. Eli, I've never heard of those two and I'm sure they're also cheap, easy ways to transmit US Dollars electronically, but the difference is that with those methods you're trusting Chase or Square Cash with access to your bank account and giving them the right to cancel or revoke and transaction. I like to describe Bitcoin as a language: if you and I agree to speak English we can have a conversation, likewise, if you and I agree to use the Bitcoin protocol we can transmit value, there doesn't have to be a third part involved. I'll agree as a means of transferring USD bitcoin's advantage over any of these similar services is marginal, but I'm primarily interested in BTC as an alternative to fiat currency altogether. I challenge anyone with even a cursory understanding of central banking to defend it as a rational, moral system of exchange, but inertia is a powerful force so it's hard to convince anyone there's any reason look for alternatives.
  18. The hinge trigger feels a little different than a 1911 trigger, but out of the box a TS trigger pull is under 2# and with a race hammer and minor polishing sub 1.5# is attainable with a VERY short reset. I had a sweet 17oz trigger on one of my 2011s, but after maybe a thousand rounds it started to slam fire, so I changed the spring and now it's crap (as crap as a short travel sub 3# trigger can be ), whereas my TS trigger has remained perfect and unchanged for thousands of rounds. Back to your question, if we're comparing a box stock 1911 to a stock TS, forgetaboutit!
  19. The irony is: how much do we know about the production of the Federal Reserve Notes in our wallets? Coinbase a respectible brokerage for BTC I use so I copied this from their FAQs:
  20. 3.5gr of Clays under a 135gr Xtreme plated RN at 1.135
  21. Bill Sahlberg posted a topic about PayPal in the classifieds which disappeared pretty quick, but it got me wondering how many Enos members would be interested in using bitcoin as an alternative to PayPal gift. More broadly: how many members are familiar with crypto currency?
  22. I have some load data if you're interested, which bullet are you using at what OAL?
