The match is 2/3 the way full with more than a month to go....if you want to shoot great Porter style stages I suggest you get those entries in quick.

I never am that precise....I just sit down and pull the handle until I am tired. Usually between 500-1000 rounds.....I guess that is why I have WAY too much ammo loaded.
I mostly use Fiocchi primer which are packaged in 150 counts flats for some reason and just throw them into my RF100 so I never just have 100 in a tube.

I just won a LnL at Area 3 and have it setup for .40. I have loaded 3-400 rounds through it but so far I say it is on par with a 650 without a doubt. Very well machined and the primer system is far easier to deal with than the 650.

The match is September 25th at the Double Tap Ranch in Wichita Falls, TX. 8 stages with 237 rounds.
I have updated the entry form to have that info.....it was on the NTX Section Home page but the link provided was to the Entry form which did not have that info.

The Greenfield's (and Chris Davies!) did one helluva job. Great stages with a mix of up close and personal and 20+ yard shots on the move. Thrown in with a few quickie stages made for a GREAT match.
Thanks to ALL the staff who helped put the match on. We will be back next year for sure.

Edit: Almost forgot about Chris, sorry...)
Slide cut back to 4.6", Barsto 9mm barrel cut to 4.8" and threaded for cone Brazos Thundercomp with the last port cut off. Meant for a 9 Minor steel gun but we will see how it shoots with minor and major. Gonna put SV Ambi-safety, D&T mag release with Brazos Cyclone button. I will also clean up some rough spots and when done breaking it in I will send it off for Cobalt plating.
I gave my gunsmith free reign to do whatever serrations and front slide cuts he wanted. I think it turned out pretty sweet.
Lee
Uh not quite....did you notice the availability of a 38 oz Aluminum frame/grip Open gun with S7 tool steel rail inserts?
others to come soon as well...
Lee
Nic and I are leaving now...fly to Chi-Town, grab a hotel, get up and drive to range to video a bit and watch some action, chill Friday night and get up and shoot Sat morning! Woo hoo....our 3rd Area match this year!
Lee
An IMM Open gun slide is already a shortened slide with a big hunk of metal removed for the barrel lug.
What are you trying to accomplish by lightening it more?
Lee
Nik, EXACTLY.
I was certainly speaking as runing a local match, not specifically at a Level II+ match.
I would expect all offical match RO's at that level not to have missed an egregious 180 voilation as I had previously described.
