  1. If you have trouble registering through Practiscore, let us know. They have been updating the system and it's sorta goofy right now. We're going to start the ICORE Regional match at 9:30 AM. This will allow those who live a couple hours away time to drive that morning. But show up earlier if you want to walk stages and get some tips from Rich Wolfe. Those who arrive on Friday are welcome to come out to the range and check it out.
  2. Not possible, wasn't in the script. So you're saying Rich Wolfe might have been paid to throw the match? ;-)
  3. I enjoyed seeing the Revo Nats episode of Shooting USA. I thought it was interesting (not bad, just interesting!) that the coverage focused so heavily on the top three finishers. What would they have done if one of the other top shooters had pulled off an upset?
  4. Mike have you used any of the 147 weight bullets? Any problems with them?, I see that most are using VV powders, which I have none but I do have quite a few other maker powders, BE-86 Bulleye, Power Pistol, Auto-comp, Longshot,Red Dot,and 231/HP-38, all of which work well with the 38's the 9's and the 45's that I have been shooting. I would hope that I can get one or two of these powders to work well with the Long Colt/Short Colt if I switch. My favorite bullet was the Zero 150-gr. jacketed RN in .356". Notice I said "was"--they don't seem to be making that bullet anymore. I am now running the MG 142-gr. pointy bullet. It's working OK.
  5. I have probably installed a hundred Weigand blades. They're OK. They would be better if they were made from steel instead of aluminum.
  6. I switched years ago from switching hands to keeping the gun in my strong hand the whole time, and I have never looked back. You can make an argument that switching hands may create the potential for slightly more speed--as Jerry says, you can keep both hands workin' that way. However, other than raw speed (if you hit it perfectly), there is no other advantage to switching hands. Every other possible edge goes in favor of keeping the gun in the strong hand.
  7. I've had no problems--accuracy or otherwise--with my Short Colt loads in any of my guns. I don't even bother loading .38 Special anymore--well, except for Sam's Marlin carbine, but that's another matter....
  8. I've heard Mike speak about L10 several times and he always says that is was a division created to solve a problem that no longer exists ... it's pretty obvious what he plans to do when he talks like that .... Not so simple though right? he will need majority of the board to go along with that decision to make it happen. Anyone have any idea if there is BOD support for removing it? I heard the podcasts too, he clearly wants to kill L10 and would probably kill revolver if he thought he could get it done but he also said based on sitting in on bod meetings that it is very clear the BOD is loathe to taking anything away from the membership. I think the rules or bylaws or something say they can only make one division change every 2 years? That 1 change will be the presumptive addition of carry optics/prod I would assume, but it will be a new el prez an partially new BOD making that vote which mike seems to also have disdain for so who knows. I am troubled by this post. I don't believe Mike Foley has ever said one word that suggests he would favor eliminating Revolver Division.
  9. Very true--not to mention the fatigue factor. I know I would shoot Revo Nats better if it weren't the day after SS Nats. But I really like both divisions and would never willingly miss a Nats in either one.
  10. This is the point in the conversation where I ask what kind of reloading machine was used to make the ammo. The answer is almost invariably the same--a Dillon 550, which of course is not auto-indexing. While it is certainly possible to double-charge a case with any progressive press, the machines that auto-index make it far less likely.
  11. Milletts haven't been manafactured in some years. While I suppose there could be some "new old stock" Milletts sitting around here and there, I would be surprised if anyone has a meaningful quantity of them left.
  12. The Apex hammer does not employ a longer hammer throw or different geometry. I know Randy has experimented with that concept(a la Colt Python), but didn't go that route with the production part. You can confirm that with a side-to-side comparison with a stock hammer. The Apex hammer is not magical, it is a very nicely finished part that is simply lighter than the stock hammer.

  14. At the 2014 USPSA Nationals, 22 ladies competed in Open, 17 in Production, and 17 in Limited. Only 10 juniors competed in Open, 4 juniors in Production, and 4 juniors in Limited. Let those numbers sink in for a minute, folks. The extensive media coverage of our female and junior shooters is completely disproportionate to the actual participation numbers--which are very small.
  15. Seems like everybody is now stealing the concepts I stole from Randy Lee!
  16. The self-funded US Revolver teams have won every World Shoot team event in recent history! When I was named for the Revo team for the World Shoot in Greece, I wasn't even so much as offered a free shirt. In fact, the people at Tech-Wear even made me pay for a shirt that I never received when I was forced to back out due to work conflicts. Meanwhile, competitors in the sponsored teams were given $3000 apiece to help cover expenses. I acknowledge that Revo Division has far fewer shooters in the US. But there are more wheelgunners than ladies and juniors, by a good margin. Divisions should always receive support ahead of categories.
  17. Yes, but let's not forget that those are CATEGORIES. USPSA should field teams for all divisions (that are equivalent to IPSC Divisions) first and foremost--including Revolver Division--and only then consider whether resources are available for the various categories.
  18. And I stole it from David Olhasso, round and round it goes. And I think Dave stole it from me.
  19. Doug, you would seriously prefer to shoot that little junior rim-job match rather than the ICORE Regional?? You and the Greens need to straighten out your priorities, and step up to a man's game.
  20. Anything is possible. Are you going to get rid of whatever other plans you have and come over for the match, Dean?
  21. News developments: 2014 IRC Overall Champion Rich Wolfe will be competing again this year. And again, Rich has generously offered to hold an informal free walk-through clinic before the match starts on October 10. This is a great chance to meet Rich and pick his brain on stage strategy before shooting the match. Also: Bob Perdue, the "Mad Genius of Revolver Division," will be competing this year. As you all know, Bob is the mastermind behind the North Mountain Moonclip Holder.
  22. Anyone who wants to shoot Revo at Rio needs to sign up fast. They only allow a limited number of wheels to shoot with the staff on Thursday.
