    Police State

Totally agree with you Dale. I'm not sure how these check points are not "unreasonable searches." Maybe it's justified because the roads and driving is a "privilege" and not a right. It still seems like BS to me.
  2. My source for this is an email newsletter from http://www.topglock.com/ Action Alert: Washington DC Already Planning To Restrict Law-Abiding Citizens 2nd Amendment Rights The following is a memo sent to Washington, DC residents by Cathy Lanier, Washington, DC Chief of Police: From: Lanier, Cathy (MPD) Sent: Thursday, June 26, 2008 6:35 PM Subject: Supreme Court Update Residents, Unfortunately, the Supreme Court today struck down part of the District of Columbia's handgun ban. I wanted to drop you a note to let you know the immediate impact of this decision. The Supreme Court's ruling is limited and leaves intact various other laws that apply to private residents who would purchase handguns or other firearms for home possession. It is important that everyone know that: a. First, all firearms must be registered with the Metropolitan Police Department's Firearms Registration Section before they may be lawfully possessed. b. Second, automatic and semiautomatic handguns generally remain illegal and may not be registered. [WTF?] c. Third, the Supreme Court's ruling is limited to handguns in the home and does not entitle anyone to carry firearms outside his or her own home.
  3. I recently received Fist's new #1KB cantable holster in ultra thin kydex. The design allows almost infinite user adjustments. I have many holsters that are "almost right" but for certain adjustments. This holster allows you to make them to fit your body. I highly recommend this holster. Fist 1kb
  4. Congrats and best of luck.
  5. What's scary is that it's a 5-4 decision. 4 of the 9 Justices apparently believe that the government has the right to disarm the populous! That is a warning that we cannot become complacent. The Anti's will try to find the ability to regulate under Heller. Consider giving to your favorite 2d Amendment organization (e.g. the NRA).
  6. Sorry if this was already covered elsewhere: Plug OK in Prod
  7. I laugh time and time again when watching COPS on TV when the suspect consents to a search when he has 100 pounds of pot in the tunck "Ah, officer, I don't know how that go in there . . . It's not mine!"
  8. I'll go a step further. If you're a smoker and go visit someone who isn't - that's cool if you smoke outside, but any freakin make-shift ashtray you make (e.g. empty beer cans), YOU need to throw them away. I don't want to clean up nasty cigerette mess after you leave.
  9. Funny - I use to hate shootin .22s. Now I love shooting it. Good, clean, cheap fun.
  10. Benny significantly lightened my Edge for me. Did a great job. After shooting Glocks so long, it still felt heavy and I sold it. Semd me an email if you want pics.
  11. I only have one - a Marlin .22lr rifle. If it worries Obama a lot, I will be happy to turn it in to the future totalitarian government. Come get it
  12. Prevailing party attorneys' fee provisions are definitely a doubled edged sword, but I personally like them. They put more skin in the game for frivolous plaintiffs and help discourage (but not eliminate) ridiculous positions. Some states, such as FLA, have offers of judgment statutes that DO allow the recovery of attorney's fees - and those statutes have worked very well IMO.
  13. Most US states adopted the English Common Law (except Louisiana). Under the "English Rule," both parties pay their own costs. This "English Rule" has exceptions - and parties to a written agreement can vary this rule. Since this is a contractual issue, the contract could have contained a provision that the losing party will pay the winning party's costs and attorney's fees. A party who has vast financial assets may not want the provision, because they can financially bully the smaller party. As a result, the smaller party should insist on that provision in negotiations IMO. Even without that provision, some states have mechanisms for recovering attorney's fees. For example, FLA has an "offer of judgment" statute that provides a mechanism to recover attorney's fees. This concept will vary state by state. BTW - Tort Reform has no relvance to this situation - it's a contract case.
  14. Hell yes! I used to watch golf because it was great for Sunday afternoon naps. Now it's just an irritating Tiger love-fest.
  15. I've heard this as well from another source. A filthy rich guy that doesn't tip - bad form and bad karma IMO (assuming it's true). As a former bartender, people that don't tip should be tarred and feathered.
  16. OK - yes - he's the greatest golfer of this generation. I'm just SICK OF HIM! Watching the parts of the US Open was a like a Tiger infomercial! He is SOOO over covered. Just a note: DON'T REBUT ON MY THREAD and get it locked. Start you own Tiger love-fest thread
  17. I agree with this. IMO, everyone's eyes work differently. I agree with the advice of shooting a lot of .22 on plate racks. Also - there's not one single answer - in other words, sometimes you shoot with 2 open, but close 1 for tough shots or steel. You have to experiment and see what works for you. Good luck.

    Which night sights?

I love my TFO sights. They may be too busy for your tastes however.

    Good looking pup!
  20. I just got a Cav Arms stripper lower from the "CAV AID" sale. I need to get a lower parts kit. My choices are DPMS, Stag and CMMG. Does it make a difference or are all kits pretty much the same? I've had good luck with Stag lowers . . .
  21. Congrats! Not much worse than having a job that makes you unhappy.

    .22 Conversions

I have an Advantage Arms kit and love it. DON'T shoot Rem Thunberbolts - they terribly leaded my barrel. I like to shoot cooper coated bullets in .22lr. The Federal and Winchester bulk packs from Walmart work well.
