  1. When i shot 9 a lot i found that Zero 147gr JHPs with Titegroup were very accurate
  2. I waste Clays on 40 minor and major, don't hate on it till you try it.
  3. No. I put an SV trigger in mine and had to file the width of the trigger base and the height of the trigger insert. I also had to bend (more like squish front to back) the bow a little to get the hammer to half cock.
  4. I wonder if making the Classic 5.4" will be harder to make weight with 9 or 40
  5. Sti posted the photo on their own instagram...
  6. typical Clays loading advice on here: don't load to major PF at standard length, go out to at least 1.185 - 1.2 OAL for major. work your loads up gradually
  7. Is a factory .40 Dan Wesson 1911 available? The only .40 I can find is a custom one from czcustom.com
  8. Well that's one $400 way to fix a problem! The expander is only about $35
  9. I have loaded a bunch of Ibejihead 180gr FP (with mostly Solo 1000 and N320) and recently bought a case of 200gr RN. You will need less powder b/c this is true with all lead or coated lead rounds. I think it has to do with when you shoot jacketed, more gas escapes, where as lead or coated lead, there is a better seal and the pressure builds with less powder charge. I'm not an expert on those reasons though, just my simplistic understanding of it.
  10. The Mr. Bullet Feeder expander also creates a similar step in the brass - i switched over to these in 9 and 40 and like them b/c it allows you to nicely place the bullet in there and it will not be crooked.
  11. I have that on mine also, and I think it only happens when you are hand-cocking it.. if you rack the slide back, does the hammer make contact like that?
  12. i think you might want to try fitting a new sear to the safety. I think the Titan makes the sear sit a little differently than the Delta. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this.
  13. I've been using a Safariland 014 for Limited for 2 years now, thinking about trying the Race Master, Manny, or Ernie Hill. In your opinion, if you had to pick one, which one and why? Does the Manny one damage the finish of the frame b/c of the magnet? Edit: NM, I found this http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=159771&p=1783455
  14. you guess correctly with the nod to CK. There's not much to think about when choosing between any STI factory gun and a CK.
  15. The difference is probably less than you think. The SVI grip includes a magwell, mainspring housing, trigger insert, mag catch, and button. The CK grip comes bare. Not true "The CK Arms metal grip kit includes the grip, mag release, mainspring housing and magwell." http://www.ckarms.com/store/grips/51-ck-arms-metal-grip-kit.html Only difference would be the trigger insert.. now you've got me looking at SVI grips..
  16. I picked up my CK Arms Thunder in May 2014, one of the earlier ones I suppose. My trigger pull is right at 2#.
  17. "Freeze"? Never used that phrase.... details please. not let off the trigger enough to reset and try to shoot again
  18. I really don't want to get into that "I can only use Federal primers" territory. I was sort of there with Glock at one time and it was irritating finding primers during crunch times.
  19. This made me want to measure the 4 pins I have, so here they are: inside the notch, along the flat face, full diameter, from inside firing pin stop, full length OEM: 0.2025, 0.226, 0.255, 2.585, 2.605 XTREME: 0.2035, 0.2265, 0.2545, 2.464, 2.607 Henning G3: 0.1985, 0.0224, 0.251, 2.4805, 2.6155 Henning G4: 0.1905, 0.226, 0.252, 2,477, 2.6265 I think the full diameter is the measurement which matters most here for engagement with the FPB. The henning Gen 4 is even more different b/c it has all these slices taken out, and might be even more thin along the direction that matters most. 0.2325 is this measurement.
  20. You mean you're using the 'Tanfoglio Xtreme Firing Pin'? The 2.0 is the one that does not work with the FPB. I think it is funny that reading the description of this one on Eric's site, they advertise that it is "longer, heavier and has a new redesigned hammer impact surface to increase the reliability of your firearm while using light trigger pulls" while Henning is trying to get his a light as possible. Makes me wonder if heavier or lighter is really better. It does seem both extend the length to some extent. I also wondered about this - I own many firing pins - henning gen 3 and 4, and the EG xtreme. Back when I shot glocks, the idea was to put a light striker spring in and put an extended lightened striker in to get reliable primer ignition - the firing pin would move faster. you bring up a great point about the extreme difference in weight between the EG Xtreme and Henning gen4... are they both right, or is one of them so so wrong?
