  1. What? The sear needs to be fit to the safety, pretty sure the sear/ hammer engagement should be left alone.
  2. One piece sear. With the extended block, no fitting initially, the gen 4 henning firing pin was not blocked. Initial tests with gen 3 pin at first appeared ok, but i experienced a few light strikes. I sanded the block from 0.505 to 0.504 and then the gen 3 pin was not blocked. Seems like something is right on the edge with the 1 pc sear. I put the factory pin in with my modified extended block and it blocked the pin, i have not test fired this yet.
  3. What firing pin did you use for this testing? I'm having some trouble with the normal and extended firing pin blocks with Henning gen 3 and 4 firing pins regarding proper blockage of the pin when not pulling the trigger. I wonder if it can be reliable with the factory firing pin- regarding correct safety function and reliable primer ignition.
  4. So the lighter recoil spring gave you less felt recoil? I would think it would be the opposite for some reason. I have no science to back that up just trying to realize how the gun operates. I "think" the lighter spring allows a slightly longer distance for the slide to move back resulting in more linear motion and less raise. then when it goes foreward there is less muzzle snap down so you're back on target with the sights faster. The shooters brain correlates flat as less recoil. Not sure if that's correct, but it's one take on it. Incorrect regarding longer distance. Unless the recoil spring is insanely heavy(or the load really light), so much so that the gun doesn't cycle properly, then the slide will not make the full cycle. Otherwise, most typical springs allow full travel of the slide. https://youtu.be/w3UVLm2GajI
  5. Dont you already have a few? Hoarding? If owning one Stock II and this becoming my primary and my other a backup makes me a hoarder then I guess so, lol. Not sure how that has anything to do with anythingAhh ok, one and a backup is pretty much a necessity.. False alarm on hoarding accusation. I thought you had at least 2 already.. I'm not sure how often these fail, but I definitely see the need for a backup.. Trying to fix one at a safe table would be a disaster. I currently just have one Stock 3, but not planning on any big matches this yr due to family stuff.

  7. you sure about that? Technically, "caliber" is the diameter of the bullet - 9mm and 38 super have the same diameter bullet. On the RO overlays, there is a diameter for 9mm, 40, and 45. There are not separate holes for 9mm and 38 super. edit: I just emailed DNROI about this, will post answer. I have just received an answer from Troy: My email to dnroi: Troy's response:
  8. To prevent people shooting non factory configurations in production division.
  9. I will also add that I think this is a terrible idea: to buy a 38 super and get a 9mm barrel for it, just wait for the 9 to be available!

  11. Stock 3's are all over gunbroker right now - I picked one up at an OK price. DO IT! edit: oops - you want .40.. well.. there are lots in 9 out there now
  12. the Ben Stoeger shop only sells one sear. I assume it works for all of them. I don't know if this is true.. Its description says "Limited/Open" I'm not sure it has the arm that engages the FPS.
  13. I just test-fired a friend's Stock II with the Titan, shot about 80 rounds of my loads with Magtech primers and about the same number of his loads with CCI primers.. mostly single action, but we did some double-action shots, all fired no problem. Can you explain the "fitting of the FPB" you did? You can push the FPB forward with the hammer cocked sometimes on my friend's pistol... one piece sear.. We noticed that the hump on the sear which engages the FPB barely moves.. ordered the extended block as an attempt to address it..
  14. What is the "proper" way to test that a firing pin block is functional on a Tanfoglio or CZ which has one?
  15. That's the exact response I was saying we needed. But now that i think about it, it kind of rubs me the wrong way... They come out with a new clearly aftermarket performance hammer, so now they just say, oh its offered as an 'option' on this $2k production gun that no one in the US at least can even get. If a gun has options doesn't that already suggest it is custom and not suitable for production. Just seems like they are using the Xtreme line of guns to legitimize all these new aftermarket parts for use in USPSA production... Just my 2 cents. Sorry if that drifted a bit away form the OP. What other parts are you speaking of? The ones I can think of: Delta Hammer, Titan Hammer, and maybe the Xtreme DA/SA less curved trigger (I'm not sure if this one is technically legal, but it probably is) I don't see how it is any different than the CZ Custom pistols that are on the production list.. I think Tanfoglio is listening to the shooters (both IPSC and USPSA) and coming up with ways to address concerns while still keeping the pistols legal in their divisions. Nothing wrong with that. Now, if only the general pistol availability would improve in the US, they might be able to make some more money...
  16. I messaged Eric on FB today, and he was surprisingly responsive. Me: Hi Eric, I'm interested in the new Titan hammer for a Stock 2 for USPSA production, but I think the USPSA rules require the part to be offered on a factory pistol that is on the production list. Is this hammer offered on any factory pistols or will it be in the near future? I think the Xtreme Delta hammer is on the Xtreme models, but I'm not sure of the Titan.. thanks.. http://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-NROI-production-gunlist.php Eric: We are offering the option to build production guns from the factory with the Titan Hammer, so it should be fine. I will check with factory. My guns that are coming in next week are built in with Titan. ...We sent an email to USPSA....Since we build guns with this hammer it shouldn't be a problem
  17. people wanna be a baller, shot caller... be like Ben
  18. Is the Titan hammer offered on a factory pistol that is on the production list is the question
  19. I plan on doing the Henning XL FP as well.. thanks for your input. A buddy and me are both setting up our new Stock 2's.. and want to go the "budget trigger job" route first.. our research pointed highly to these spring upgrades and I was curious about the difference. We are leaning against getting the delta hammer upgrade at the start.. seeing how good it can get with some more affordable upgrades.. Thanks.. Edit: did you need to get the extended firing pin block also? There is some mention of it on some parts websites that you need this when upgrading to the Henning firing pin.
  20. What is the general consensus on using Wolff springs vs the EGD Xtreme springs for the hammer spring and firing pin spring? Both offer light versions.
  21. Thanks for the info guys. My main concern is that I wanted to buy a cheap Android device for like $50 to do registration and stage building, and then use my iPod touch to in some way generate the files to upload. I should be able to figure out the last file management part as long as iOS takes it most of the way. We still have an option of just buying a used iPad 1st gen for like $130 or something, but cheaper is better.. if it will work.
  22. I am involved in starting up a club and have volunteered to run the scoring and registration.. so far I have purchased 6 nooks. Looking into this concept of using an Android master.. friends have mentioned that only iOS devices will do this nifty upload thing at the end. My question: If I build a match and do registration on an Android device, say a Nexus, and score the match with the Nooks, Do I need to do anything special to use my personal iPod touch to do the final upload like you do with your iPhone? Can I add this device to the current match after it is over and use it to do this magical final upload? Please excuse my ignorance on certain aspects of Practiscore, I'm currently a newb at it.
