  1. This happened to me on stage 1 thunder. I used my pistol,to shoot the last four poppers. I had TWO pistol hits on a popper that did not fall, verified today after watching my gopro footage of the stage. I shoot a 9mm for 3 gun. 130 pf ammo, the same I use for shooting minor in USPSA. I asked for calibration and was told the same thing, a shotgun from the closest possible spot. I then declined the calibration and took the miss. I agree with Jesse, if it can be shot with pistol, it should calibrated with pistol. As far as ear and eye pro, you should not be allowed to continue without it. It is taught to us by every RO, hunter education class, etc., when you shoot you need it, 3 gun should not be an exception. Just my thoughts on the matter. I still had a great time shooting with my buddies, and making some new ones. George
  2. 17 in everything for me too. 9 lbs wolff recoil spring
  3. I have worn jeans for years now. Never liked the 'tacticool' pants, too many pockets and heavy material. But I bought a pair of vertx recently trying to find something that fits a bit better for athletic activity. I like them so far, fit well, stretch enough, light weight, more crotch room (very important) and the pockets are cut inside the leg and don't hang out. Another thing I like is no Velcro.
  4. I shot a new 14.45 at rockcastle 3 gun last year. I have never been a fan of paras, but it was pretty nice. Accurate for the 14 rds I put through it, whatever that may be worth. But it felt different than the old frames, it wasnt as blocky in the front strap, had nice grips, good trigger for a factory unit. Travis Tomasie did tell me that the frames had not changed but had slim grips if I recall correctly. Fit and finish looked nice, had ion bond and some EGW stuff in it. With the limited experience I have with it, I'd would buy one to try, but, i s till like the 2011 platform better. George
  5. Depending on your slide it may work. I had a .40 build by Bedell, it has a .38 super extractor in it. I don't know the dimension that you need to measure.
  6. Nothing wrong with that, I understand.
  7. http://www.amazon.com/Permabond-910-Instant-Adhesive-Oz/dp/B00BWEQE76 Expensive, but worth it.
  8. Look for a glue called Permabond 910. It's a super glue specifically for metal bonding. It works great, I have fixed a lot of stuff with it and never had it separate. http://www.permabond.com/ How come you don't want to run them loose? I run metal and plastic followers loose with no issues. Do you just not like the rattle or movement? George
  9. Will this match require a sling for rifle or shotgun? Wondering if I should come up with a better sling system for my Versa before hand. George
  10. Though I don't agree with it, I also don't plan on letting this ruin a good time shooting. Just sayin, if I wanted limited capacity I would stay in NY and shoot.
  11. So what do I do with my 11 + 1? I don't plan on buying a 8 round tube for one match.
  12. I'm glad we are not going to miss out on this match this year. Can't wait to see what in store. George
  13. I think a lot of breakages have to do with improper fitting of the part. Nothing on a 1911/2011 is drop in. George
  14. I started running the carbon arms fsl8, I have 2 on the front of my belt. I have ap customs load two if I need more for a stage. I like them both, they work great. George
  15. I like Chip power mags best. I have also used Wilson 47d mags, also work well. That is what I like for competition. But I have dozens of mags of various brands. Colt mags seem good enough and I've even had good results with kimber tac mags. I like comptac mag pouches, though the prices have gone up recently. Almost too expensive for what they are. George
  16. I have one of these for a hk45 that I started shooting limited 10 with before I had anything else. I like the holster for uspsa or any kind of pistol only game. But it does not lock the gun in, and is not the most secure if the gun is holstered and you are moving around a lot. Be careful at matches, dont want to get dq'ed because you sit down and knock your pistol out of your holster. Not ideal for 3 gun, which is the game I like to play. My opinion. I would not buy another. George
  17. I don't have a clamp on mine and have no issue at all. I run a 11 rd total nordic tube. George
  18. Another place you can check http://forums.1911forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=30 George
  19. Just finished up shooting the am match today. I had a great time, the ROs did an excellent job. I will defenitly try to get back next year. The cave shoot was awesome, very different, suppressed .45s and night vision are not something you get to play with everyday. Thanks to all the sponsors and staff, great job. Good shooting everyone. George
  20. 3gungear.com Velcro can go anywhere. George
  21. The safety will have to come out, no big deal. It's a quick easy install. I also did not like the supplied pins, but they fit in my noveske gen 2 no problem. In fact a little loose. I quickly replaced with captured JP pins. Took a small bur of the hammer causing sticky reset. George
  22. The safariland 3 gun case is what I use, it has a little flip out pouch for long shotgun extensions. my Versa measures 51" and fits with a little room the spare. George
  23. I currently run a 11 rd extension, but have been thinking about going to 12 because I am always loading an even number of shells.nothing is worse than taking those last two shells of my belt and only being able to stuff 1 and a half in the gun. Poor stage planning I guess. George
  24. Couple shots pointing out the difference in loading port size. 930 on the right and Versamax to the left. This would help me make a decision between the two. That and Mossbergs like to crap out. I have only seen one run flawlessly so far and it wasn't mine.
  25. This sounds like the same issue I was having with my 930. If I'm following your description right, the gun cycles but does not feed out of the magazine? Somehow, someway my shell stop bent not allowing shells to feed from the tube. I removed my shell stop and trimmed it down so not as much was in contact with the back of the shell in the mag. I filed quite a bit off then sanded the edge smooth, now it allows the shells to feed out of the tube. Now I just need to track down a new shell stop for a more permanent solution. Good luck, George
