  1. I am interested to know what your problem is. Some kind of feeding or loading issue is what I have deducted so far. How about some specifics so other people can help or if anyone is having similar issues this thread can help them. George
  2. I have a old Knights 308 match sr25 with a 24" barrel. I am going to chop the barrel between 16" and 17". I measure the gas port at .090", it is rifle length. My question is what size gas port is going to give me the best results? Should I open it up or keep it the same? At this point I have a Surefire break I plan on using. Thanks, George
  3. Rifle length springs and buffers are longer than carbine. They will not work, you have to have the appropriate parts George
  4. I cant comment on this myself, but I have seen some posts in the past about the clear extensions not being as tough as the black. May be different plastic, floks were having blow outs. I run one that is black, have not had any trouble with it. I would try a search here and on some other forums, may or may not be true. Could be an old problem that has been fixed as well. George
  5. http://originalmetaloy.com/ for hard chrome. George
  6. I am just about the same size and run a LMT sopmod fully collapsed. I like to get my support hand as far out to the end of the gun as possible. Rifle length or longer forends work well for this, and short stock if you have short arms. I would stick with what you have. Short and light. George
  7. Think about how far you will shoot with it. The old school of thought on magnification is one power for every 100 yards. I just ordered a Leupold mark 6 1-6x for my Knights, though I dont have it yet so I cant comment either way, good or bad. George
  8. http://www.brownells.com/optics-mounting/optic-accessories/scope-throw-levers/switchview-lever-nightforce-nxs-sku100005212-40132-61732.aspx According to MGMs fit list the Nightforce NXS switchview will fit. Found it last night. George
  9. How much does the magnification adjust turn? Would it be possible to use a switchview on it? George
  10. If a thick reticle is the only drawback I do think I am going to try it out. I was worried about the glass not being worth the cost. $2k is a lot of coin to drop on a scope I have not been able to look through first. If anyone else is running one, please chime in. George
  11. I am looking at one of these for my .308 AR. Looking for general opinions on them, worth the money? Glass? Reticle? The one specific question I have is the ability to use a cat tail. Does the magnification adjustment turn too far in either direction to use one? Want to know what everyone thinks Thanks, George
  12. Still run the factory Novak rear and green front on my Pro. I think they work just fine. The only thing I plan on doing is cutting 50 lpi serrations on the back of thear rear sight to match my 1911s. Something about looking at serrations, just a continuity thing I guess. George
  13. I have a regular forged Mega upper receiver on one of my ARs that I am very rough with. The anodizing is tougher than any other I have and matches my Knight handguard perfect. All the Mega receivers Ive seen appear to be the same. Just my opinion. George

  15. Another satisfied Blade Tech user here. DOH with a Tek Lok is what I run for everything. Though I have been thinking about a Safariland for 3 gun. George
  16. It does come in .40 http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product4_750001_750051_814078_-1_757896_757896_757896_ProductDisplayErrorView_Y George
  17. What is your price range? Do you want a full size or compact? I would tell you to go to a shop and hold everything in .45, when you find a QUALITY firearm that fits your hand the best, buy it. The compact M&Ps fit the hand nice. I carried a 1911 for 2 years or so, very comfortable do to the width of the gun, but heavy to carry everyday for extended amount of time. HK makes a good gun, USP 45 compact and HK45 compact, both are good sized carry guns. Sig 220s shoot real nice, have a good da/sa trigger. I dont like Glocks due to the grip angle. But this is all my opinion. Capacity in all of these is about the same, 8 or 10 rds for most .45s is the norm. They all have pros and cons, the decision comes down to what you like and want. George
  18. I like the grip work and serrations. But like the Costa M&P I dont think they are worth the money, paying for the name on the slide. I do have to say that Hilton Yam make a hell of a 1911, I do like 10-8 products. Good high quality stuff that has function. George
  19. A company like Raven comes to mind. It seems like the 308 market is untapped when it comes to accessories. http://www.rocityholsters.com/ These guys are local to me, they have made me some great holsters so far. You can give them a try. George
  20. Looks good. I saw a interesting shopping cart at the mall today, would have made a excellent 3g cart. I wanted to take it but my morals got the best of me.
  21. I use Froglube, it works good. Doesnt have a chemical smell. Smells like menthol. A lot of internet hype behind it, some folks have problems with it not running in cold weather. But I have yet to have a problem. Its not a magic lube like some have claimed it to be, but it has worked well for me, I now run it exclusively. George
  22. I shot a friends Troy, for the price I think its a great carbine. The muzzle brake leaves a lot to be desired, but it is a mid gas 16" barrel. It shoots a bit harder than I expected, recoils and moves off target more like a carbine length gas gun. But with a new muzzle brake, the gun shoots like a dream, he installed a Surefire brake. But still, at the price they are selling for, I would grab one if I needed or wanted another 556 ar George
  23. I have been really impressed with Mega products. The anodizing is some of the best I have seen, great quality product. Come in billit and forged. You get what you pay for. George
