  1. I have 2 m&p's in 9mm, my pro has estimated 3k rounds from last year, maybe 500 this year. I have experienced no problems at all. My 4" has a low round count but also trouble free. I don't think you need to buy a back up but it's always fun buying more guns. George
  2. I set up a Versamax sportsman for under $1k. Versamax sportsman 26" $820 Nordic +7 extension $70 Nordic charging handle $25 Lifter welded by my welder $40 Hiviz front sight $25 Opened the loading port myself with a file Free Total $980
  3. How about blade techs drop and offset bracket that's used on their holsters?
  4. I think knifekits.com has quantity pricing, give them a try. George

  6. I have gone through many sights trying to find just what I liked. I now use the same set up on all of my pistols. Black serrated rear 40 or 50 LPI and a green fiber optic or tritium front. The rear sights I like a Harrison design and 10-8 performance. Both come serrated so I don't have to do it and they are black. They will both fit in a Novak cut. I used to like novak sights but no longer like dots in the rear and I am not a big fan of the way they are inletted. George
  7. I have been having fail to feed with Rio target loads. Though no problem with Rio slugs. It seems like its the ammo more than the gun for me. I have not had a problem with anything else, I have not tried fiochi. George

  9. I stripped mine to install a LEM trigger, I followed some different instructions on http://www.hkpro.com/.
  10. I like the rear Novak sight that comes stock on the Pro. I have also used 10-8 rears, but I like to square off the notch. My opinion on sights is if they don't work it is easier to modify with a file and a steady hand. You can make the notch as deep or wide as you like with a small file, touched up with cold blue. Rear serrations are also easily added with a file. Front sight, fiber optic, take your pic. I use hiviz. George
  11. http://modernserviceweapons.com/ About half way down the page their is mention of new prototype base pads. Don't know if they are dimensionally different or will work. George
  12. I use chip McCormick 8 rd power mags, they are the best I've used so far. George
  13. Though I did not have a problem with poi on my XSE, my sights were VERY tight when I swapped them out. The dovetails and sights are 'fit' at the factory, rather just slammed in the slot. Get your self a sturdy brass punch from Home Depot, shorter the better, put it in a vise and give it some good solid Hits. It will move. When you get the sight out, dress the corners with a file slightly, you may even need to take off a little material from the dovetail itself. George
  14. I have yet to see any 1-6 scope that are any good for under $1400. The vortex razor is very nice at that $1400 price point. If you want the extra 2x magnification, I suggest saving a bit more money. How far will you be shooting? That might sway your choice from one to the other. George
  15. I see a lot of Burris mtac and xtr 1-4s being used. Not bad for the money and have useable reticles. George
  16. I like the blade tech and comp tac as well. I also have some TYR soft mag pouches, but prefer kydex for competition. I just received a safariland ar10 the other day, I am NOT impressed. The edges are sharp and the retention adjustment is not very good. Only thing I do like about it is that it cants 0° - 90° and mounts left and right handed. Just my thoughts. George
  17. Is this for people missing index fingers? I don't get it, what is the purpose? George
  18. Try something simple. A blacked out rear sight with a fiber optic front. Get one from. Hiviz with different color light pipes and try that out. This works well for most people, soft focus on the rear with no dots or color or distract and a bright large front to focus on. George
  19. I think used market will be your best bet right now. I have had 17 rd m&p mags on notification from a dozen or so places and have not seen them come into stock anywhere. Every shop I have been in has had none. They are scarce right now, give it some time they will show up again. George
  20. I think you will be happy with your choices. I Also run a cr speed and blade tech holster. The California comp works she'll caddies are a nice start, though I think their are better options out there. I have ccw caddies, they work well, but my complaint would be, if you don't grab all 4 shells the rest will fall out while running. Mag pouches, I recommend blade tech or comp tac that cant. These are reasonably priced and can be rotated for ergonomics of your draw. Good luck, George
  21. This gun looks good, it will be nice to have an out of the box gun available to folks getting into the game. Can't wait to see one in person. George
  22. Thanks for sharing your comments. Posts like this make it easier for guys like me to make decisions. I also handled the Kahles at SHOT this year, it looked great and I wish I could order one right now. Unfortunately my wallet will not permit right now, maybe by fall. George
  23. It has an interesting look to it. I'm glad to see more 1-6s coming on to the market, a useful magnification range for all types of shooting. George
