  1. See!!!! I keep telling you guys that you can get a 625 for less than your right arm !!!!! No really, I have yet to give $450 for any S&W of any caliber, model........oops forgot about the new unfired 646......I gave a little over 5 benfranklins for it. If you just get out and beat the bushes a good price can be found, just be patient. And yes I did have a 610.......got it for $450......it went away for a 625 and a 25 for 400 more. AND YES I'M CHEAP !!!!! Hopalong

Dennis, It was raining and I did not want to get wet while deer hunting. MIshootist.......I once tried to do the same with my first Para Ordanace P-16 and did not clean that dude, period!!! for 5 months (shooting quite regular......2 times a week and 3 matches a month) while also shooting lead. (factory configuration too) and it and the mags performed flawlessly......cleaned it for the TN state championship where it did great but the nut behind the gun came off. Now onto this training, Diary thing. I did not get to go to the range, nor dryfire............but did reload 500 rounds on the 650. (gotta have ammo to burn at the range if I ever get there) How's that? got right back on subject. Hopalong
  3. Hey Kathy, Happy new year to you and RB !!!!! Good luck on your shooting this year, you did quite well for yourself last year. Keep up the good results. HOP
  4. Mark, You have the Initials wrong...........It is not BMW.........It is BRT! Now I need to go make some Ammo. Hop

Thought I may as well get in on this.............. What division? Which gun? Where is it? Where's the Ammo? Minor or Major? Damn, too many options..........I think I'll have a beer! On a more serious note, I did clean my Ltd gun from the last time I shot it.........at the North Carolina State match in October.........It's a start. Hopalong

OZ......... Seems to have worked for Cheeley, He admits he isn't as good at the stand and shoots as the shoot on the moves..... Me, I was just the opposite for a while (4 years) but somewhere in there it swapped and now I can't shoot either!!! Good luck, get a good foundation and go from there.(and you must learn to trust what your eyes are telling you). Hopalong
  7. Mark, You have several wheelgunners in KY, but for some reason, most shoot a flatgun when in public...........right Fomeister???? a couple die hards are Airedale and Zookeeper who will be shooting a wheel most anytime you see them(I said most). Several of the "Lexington Punks........ah, er, um, Mafia" have been known to brandish a real gun on occasion but seem to revert back to the bottom feeders. I know Zookeeper has organized some ICORE matches in the recent past, usually the same weekend as Akidales steel shoot but that is all I know. Maybe you can find a wingman or two. See you there in Feb. Hopalong
  8. Just wondering........what is the altitude for Puyallup ( I can spell it, but deferr on pronouncing it ) Things us Lowlanders need to know (I'm in WEST Tennessee, no where near the Smokies) maybe I need to arrange some O2 HOP
  9. Thanks Glenn!!! But I'll take All "A" s and Smokin HOT reloads. (Well maybe I need to wake up) HOP Oh, and Good shooting to all you Wheelies out there!!!!
  10. Banter, Banter, Banter !!!! (The first Keen)
  11. Tennessee...............You can't give the ball away 3 times.........espescially with the NON-Defence that we have now! Auburn.......... Go War Eagle!!!!! Next .............Go Hogs........Geaux Tigers............Go Gators!!!!!! Man you people don't know just how hard that was to type ! Hopalong
  12. Tony, What about that little team from Knoxville? I know you pull for them all the time any way! Alabama gave a valiant effort, not bad for a team without a head coach. Some pretty tough match-ups for the rest of the bowls, lets see if the SEC can't make it 8-1 in the bowl challenge. Man it really is hard to say but..................Go Gators!!!!! Hopalong
  13. .41, the "Race thing" is most likely a CR Speed revolver set-up(I have one) and it will rub on the triggerguard, just in front of it where it rests on a nylon "take up screw" and on the end of the muzzle. Thanks for the info on the other 25......I would love to get into another one for less than 500, for after I'm done butchering it only a shooter would give what it is really worth again for resale (I don't resale guns though) (and sure do hate butchering anything that I have much money in) Did you notice what the .41 mags are going for? saw one just like mine for $950......sure am glad I found mine when I did, might have to been a Ruger .41 owner instead. Hopalong
  14. Congratulations, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but......................Sorry but you'll have to not worry about the blueing if you plan on using it. A blue gun with real "worn blueing" is cool anyway. Hopalong
  15. Flex is correct (man I hate admitting that! ) that was a stage at the Mississippi Classic, and you need to see what a falling sheet of water does when a comp on a .38 super is stuck in it and fired My 625 blowing a hole in it was pretty boring compared to the open guns that were pushed in the water a little too far. Go ahead with your stage though, everyone should get the excitement of this type of stage. Hopalong
  16. Mark, That sounds good, If USPSA doesn't promote you just go ahead and put it down on all your entry forms this upcoming shooting season! As far as winning HOA and getting promoted.........I have managed to win a few area matches in Revolver division (with competition too) and have stayed in the same class (shooting wise) one of these days I'll get a little class......... Hopalong
  17. After shooting mostly in the Southeast and eastern lower 48 and checking on airfare, I am looking at joining Tom Kettells and Jerry V. out in Oregon for the A-1 match in August.......plus it has to be cooler than Tennessee is at that time I have mentioned it to Danbagger(said he'd toss it around in his head) , so how about you guys and gals? Rudi is out that way now........hell, we could have a preleminary USPSA Nationals........ Come on, it'll be fun! Plus, I have already shot A-3,4,5,6,and 8......need another number Hopalong
  18. Hope to see some familiar and not so familiar smiling faces there. Thinking of loading down some 500 S&W loads to make 180 PF and getting Bubber to cut down some Comp III loaders for it....... Any one think Clark Custom would Moonclip a 500 for me? See some of you in Arkansas, the rest of you I'll see in Tulsa.............. or somewhere in between. Hopalong/ Mr. Clean/ Hilljack/ Don't call me late for Dinner.
  19. 41, If the .45 colt cylinder is already fitted (I passed on one with this option) all you have to do is swap it out with the ACP cylinder by uscrewing the yoke screw and open it like reloading then remove the yoke, swap cylinders and reinstall..........."so easy a caveman can do it" If it doesn't have a spare fitted one then you must start from scratch.............not rocket science but not a stroll through the back yard either. now on the 657................mine is a 6 inch non underlug gun (looks like a stainles 25 ) that is factory except I have smoothed the action. It is not quite as accrurate as yours......Maybe it is me too......but I can kill a skoal can at 50 every shot if rested. make sure you wipe the new to you 25 down with oil so it doesn't rust from all the drool Hopalong
  20. .41.............. Whatever you do, DON'T listen to Carmoney..............he will lead you astray. 25-2 is set up ready for moonclips IF it is chambered for .45 ACP and NOT .45 COLT there is a difference. remember, if you decide you don't need the 25-2 just let me know. .41 mag........a very under rated, round that fit where/what it was designed for perfectly. Hopalong
  21. Doug, Glad you like it, Jerry V. has the right idea. I have a blue 10 shot 17.........good shooter but an aluminum cylinder won't take much abuse so I picked up a 6 shot 617 to shoot on the cheap compared to those .45s for the 25/625s. The only problem is the smaller frame gun sits lower in my CR speed holser and the draw is different because of it(for me) I am looking at a 10 shot but the guy who has it is a bit high on his price so it may not make it to the Hilljack household very soon if at all. Neat handguns! Hopalong
  22. Same disheartening e-mail in the in box today. I guess you heavy metal guys (and every one else) got lucky this time. Hopalong
  23. .41, Is that a 6" 657 in your picture? I have one and sure do Love it! (it is my venison getter now) As for a 25............... I have two 625s and one 25, sure would like to find another.............I can do pretty much the same with all...........the 25 seems to be a little faster on transitions between targets out past 20 yds or so. I can't seem to get the 625 stopped as well. It is what you get used to........If you don't like it just drop me a line. Hopalong
  24. Steph, and Mike are some "good folk". If nothing else I recomend going just for their company. Hop
  25. I'll add my Thank you too!!!! to whom ever deserves it. Now that the BOD has been kind enough to give us some room to experiment with equipment, we need to improve the numbers for sure.........not only at the Nationals but at all levels........that makes it up to YOU to get out and get more participation in your neck of the woods. If only for a second gun at the local matches........it does add up and hopefully it will show. Hopalong
