  1. Flex, I used to think the same way about practicing on a shitty day (nothing goes right type of day)....................... But if you don't go ahead and work on those days, what about when you hit a match and are having one of those type of days?????? You can always get something from a practice, on the bad days you just have to look a little harder. SAM
  2. Good for YOU Tim!!!!!!! Good times with your sister, and with a good old REAL BATTLE RIFLE!!! Thanks for sharing. SAM
  3. I stuck mine on my nametag from the Nationals, that I keep pinned on my rangebag so I don't mistake someone elses for mine...........or Vice Versa. Gotta do something with both. SAM
  4. Mike, As far as the record goes..........IF you include the Ohio, and the North Carolina matches...the record goes down. Ohio has 9 signed up. North Carolina has 11 and that does not include me. (I'm shooting the Benny Blaster) So with your 30 some odd and the other 20 .......................Man, it's been a good year for the wheelgun crowd! Now only to get more for next year!!!! good luck on your match, and I hope you get the single match record. SAM
  5. Well the results are up for the MO Fall Classic. Looking at the results, We missed a good one!! A big Ata Boy for my buddy Rodney May, he and his junky old Sig did pretty good ........Production results here: http://www.uspsa.org/mr/stage_display.php?...stol_Finals.dat I have shot this match for the last 3 years, just did not have the funds and time this year. Hate I missed it though. Oh well, maybe next year. SAM
  6. How about you there scott???? I know you shoot the one down there where you are at............. SAM
  7. Thanks Keith! I'm gonna need all the help I can get. The .308 Special, my 870 supermatic, and the Ole warhorse .45 sure do make it fun though.................sometimes. But I will offer this predicition...............not many if anybody will be having as much fun there in Anniston as I am. Now to go drill out the gas ports on the 870 ! SAM
  8. 10MM...... The contract with PASA park is up this year........so therefore I would be highly suprised to see that venue again for a few years. I expect to see them all go to Tulsa for a few years. But since the Open/ Production Nationals are there this year, I would look for the others to be there next and the Open/production to be else where...........that is if they keep the same format. Mooney, I understand your problem.........hopefully there is way around it, all you can do is ask. Hope to see very many more there next year. SAM
  9. So Mark, How many Heavy Man shooters do you have signed up? Got to get in the basement and build some of them steel seeking, A-zone poking, low-recoiling .308 SPECIALS. See you there, and everyone else who is going. SAM
  10. NO you do not have to be a member of ICORE to shoot the matches........kind of like shooting USPSA club matches. Have heard some of the good ICORE shooters from Louisiana are making the trip up. Will be fun to see how the 8 shooters go at the 6 round Neutral stages. I had put the wheel guns up for the Winter, but will be brandishing my 646 just because. Hope to see a bunch of you guys/gals there. SAM
  11. A little Birdie tells me that some of the Louisiana Contengent is making the trip North. I hope to jump on the V-Star and make the 4 hr trip down and shoot my little 646 as I don't get to shoot it much. You guys/gals take it easy on me...........please! See you then. SAM
  12. Now Flex.............. the Revolver in USPSA was supposed to be dead too!!!! Thanks Redmist. SAM Edit to remove double post.
  13. Same Match Director as last year......and the year before..........HOPEFULLY he can get it right the 3rd time! THAT obviously is a joke people! This will be the 5th in a row for the club, no two have been alike...........and neither will be the 5th. Come shoot with us, it will be fun. HOPALONG
  14. Here it is: To those whom attended with a revolver the USPSA, IDPA, ICORE National Championships. Recruit 1 (ONE) more shooter to go to the 2007 National Championships. The IRC (ICORE) had over 200 shooters this year (GREAT!) and after 15 years of it they seem to have weathered the storm.........but don't stop shooting and going! IDPA National had a slight resurgence from the measley numbers of last year caused by the split of the Division. But it is still behind from the previous years. USPSA set a new attendance record, and also had the closest competition in that division ever!!! If you shooters that attended the IDPA, and USPSA Nationals bring 1 new shooter each to next years match that will be the largest to date of both!!!!! Think about it!!!! And then DO IT!!!!!! SAM KEEN
  15. Just a little carrot to dangle infront of you guys....................... Joe (Precision Delta) is currently working on a HOLLOW POINT bullet in 9mm/38 super as you are talking about it. WHEN it will be available is something I can't answer, He told me they wanted to get them by the end of the year.......but when I was talking with him that is not going to happen. So look for them some time next year. After that I think the .40 cal. hollow point is next in line(I hope). I use his bullets exclusively in Major matches and recomend them.(He doesn't know I'm saying this) as they have always shot accurately(better than I can shoot them) and I have yet to find a flaw. Sam Keen
  16. This year, when I shot a wheelgun I mainly used a 25-2 I did use the 625 (5") at the USPSA Nationals but had the other 625 and the 25-2 just in case. I have also tinkered with the 646 shooting .40 S&W minor a little, Kind of fun in its own way. gun handles really well and shooting Minor it is really comfortable to shoot. Will be shooting a 586 in 38 spl either at the Mississippi IDPA or the Ga IDPA state match.......(thinking of going to their Nationals next year). The Majority of what you will see is a 625 of differing barrel lengths, then some 25s, and 610s thrown in for good luck. SAM
  17. Well Nationals is over (for Me) and Performance wise I was "a little off" but that's the way it goes. I had a good time with my squadmates, friends new and old, but just did not seem to enjoy the "moment" like in the past. Don't know what was different or missing but there was something different. Wheelgun will be cleaned up this weekend and put way in the back of the safe. IF and when I shoot, it will be with the LTD gun. The only time I plan on shooting a wheelgun for the rest of the year will be with my 41 mag, at a BIG FAT DEER! I have enjoyed the challenge of shooting a revolver in USPSA/IPSC but I am/was lucky enough to have had no major troubles adapting to it. Now the challenge is not in the shooting but in the wanting to shoot .........A much larger and tougher challenge that I have yet to decide to tackle. Good luck to you all. SAM
  18. Quick note while clothes are drying...........gotta go BACK to Kentucky.........AGAIN!!! Airedale I'm sorry........but I'm really starting to dislike your state!!!! Anyway, back to the original programing....... Jerry..............is Jerry!!!!! Nuff said. the ICORE guys showed up..............and Delivered........way to go John and Nils!!!!(and I'm still not giving that Danbagger anything......but a hard time !) My Buddy Mike Carmoney..........2 years in a row at 3rd!!!!! Pretty impressive to say the least. Oh and John Bagakis.........with your 86% at Nationals................Welcome to Master(That's supposed to be automatic). Cliff and Jerry had 1 and 2 wrapped up.......until stage 14..........don't worry Cliff....It wasn't as bad as my 18 last year. Shooting with the rest of the "good" guys.........I should have been on Mars instead. Got to see most of the other squads shoot at least once........Many hard fought battles, you guys all should be proud. Now here is the Challenge I bring forth.................. Each one of you return next year but with a catch.....................another revolver shooter so the 33 can bust 60!!!!!!!!! I am already working on 2......one has given in and if he gets a slot (already claimed from the section CO)......the other will take a little more work, and depending on the time of the year. I personally don't intend to shoot much revolver next year, but will allow you beat up on me again next year, but not without a fight. Now to get ready for the North Carolina Section(Benny Blaster here I come) Congrats to ALL !!!!!! SAM Edit to add: Sorry Nemo, Just couldn't get it together.......but I had you covered on the first day!
  19. Damn!!!!! He's just as ugly in pictures as in real life !!! Good looking fish though. I hear it cooking up right now. SAM
  20. Jake, That is the incorrect way to look at it. The 3-gun match in Anniston (A-6) will be attended by some of the best 3-gunners in the area. What better of a place or time to see how it is done by some people that know what they are doing (me excluded). I highly recomend you talking Mr. Brister into making the trip (He's pretty good) and seeing how it is done. All who will be there were exactly in your shoes at one time. so take advantage of it if you can. DO NOT be intimidated by titles, names or "classifications" they are all just people, some just shoot better than others. Hope you can make it. I recomend it. SAM KEEN
  21. Mr. Mainus, I am opperating on the assumption that you are referring to me! Mr. Lee, I will be looking at some of your handy work while I'm there. I am completely satisfied with my own butchering jobs..........but I can appreciate good work when I see/feel it. You need to attempt to attend next year if at all possible. Sam.............ah... Hmmmm......Hilljack
  22. Well Hell, trying to get a good feed with you guys is like shooting on the same squad with you ..............everyone has their own idea. I'll see you guys Wed at check in, and then a little later at Walk through on stage 18! SAM
  23. Bruce, Speed loaders.........Comp IIs from Brownells I did not have it cut for moons, but did have a very slight chamfer just enough to break the sharp edge on the cylinder(so I could easily still shoot 357 ammo in it too) Nice gun, wish I had it back. SAM
  24. I'll be there, 7:00 pm Quincy time. SAM
  25. I'm up for the Patio again............7:00 pm Quincy time sounds good. See you turkeys there. Sam
