  1. Stump, Yes, Round Gun Shooter is a top notch dude! (as are most of the wheelgunners I know........except that shyster lawyer dude.. ) He's only middle notch. Have fun with it, just remember when you are the only guy shooting a wheel gun at the local match that it is you against the world ! On a more serious note: The plated bullets are a different kind of dog, make sure you chrono. SAM
  2. One week from tomorrow and there will be rounds down range in Anniston!!!!! Looking forward to it again this year, if it is as good as last it will be a blast. M1a cleaned and ready, Kimber .45 cleaned and ready, 870 superauto good to go. All I need now is someone who knows how to make them go. See the rest of you HM guys there........oh and you other guys who shoot that whimpy stuff!!! HOPALONG
  3. Carmoney said he was going to refrain from the P.T. Barnum coments ect....... Who are you, and what did you do with the real Carmoney???? SAM
  4. Just noticed this..... http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=40818 Looks pretty good, Price not elevated like they have been lately either. and no I don't get a cut off the sales either. SAM
  5. GiH........ I don't intend for this to sound like a smart ass remark and it isn't. Unless you need the gold dot, get rid of it. Yes it might help you pick up the front sight just a little quicker on that 8 yd target vs. the all black. But what does it gain you if you can't put it (or your bullets) on target???? Fiber Optics and Gold dots are great, if your eyes make you have to use them......Otherwise the standard black front sight is just as quick (If you practice) and in my opinion (see tag line below) more accurate. Good luck, good shooting. SAM
  6. Good for ya'll !!! I'll see ya'll there. SAM
  7. That is pretty much it..... Looking for pet loads. SAM
  8. Mr. Fish.... I recomend you aquire the vidieo mentioned in the previous posts............worth the money! as far as reloads go........... LEARN how to do BOTH !!!!! That way you are not handcuffed to one style if it doesn't fit the stage. At this years USPSA nationals there were several stages that required movement to the left while reloading. the keep the gun in the strong hand (righties) style fits that movement better than the Jerry style. I personally use the Jerry style and can regularly keep my reloads under 2 seconds on targets 12 yds and closer.........but can now get under 2 seconds the other way also..........just not as consistantly as the way I usually do. Just more tools in the tool box. Glad you have found out what the biggest secret in revolver shooting is..............guns that run (unless tinkered with too much) and lots of fun. Good luck, get the vidieo. SAM KEEN
  9. I have a M1 Garand, It has all new wood, a new Dutch Barrell and has been completely gone over and through. I recently took it to a NRA hi-power match and was not too happy with the results. the gun took half the match to start consitantly grouping (No I did not break it in) and I understand that part of it. But, during the rapid fire sitting, and prone it just kept shooting lower and lower. Then during the slow fire prone, after adjusting it to hit x ring (2 in a row and then a 10) it then started drifting down again to the point of changing the rear sight 6 clicks up just to keep it in the black. those who know more about these rifles please let me know what might be the problem, and the cure to what ailes it. SAM
  10. Richie, I'll see if I can't get Stephanie Luttrell to answer your question. She is quite proficient with a wheelgun, and started her competitive career with one in IDPA. My suggestion would be a 686 or 586 or a nice model 10. SAM
  11. Way to go SG !!!!!!! Been telling you for a while that you could do it......now we all know. SAM
  12. Funny Mr. Mist!!!! Congrats to all the wheelgunners whom are making a large impression............ Bubber, John Bagakiss.. , My buddy Johnny Brister (GM and now all gun GM), D. Carden moved up pretty well too.........Carmoney won't be long until GM.........I see Little Carmoney is on the top 20 B class now too!!!!!!! Good going Sam...... Hopefully one day If the moon and the stars line up just right...........until then. Sam
  13. First let me state this...... I (Sam Keen) am not a member of the Mississippi Section. I would like to invite any and all USPSA wheelgunners to attend and shoot the 2007 Mississippi Classic. It is the weekend of May 18 (I think) (it is listed on the USPSA website) will be a 2 day match likely 10 stages maybe more. A level III sanction is applied for as is a Points series "OTHER" match for those of you who are interested in that. The new, ONE and ONLY all gun USPSA Grand Master will be shooting a wheelgun, as will a good many other Mississippi shooters whom will defend their turf vigorously. We had a nice attendance last year, 17 and that was at the same time as A-5 which also had near 20 shooters..............since it is already listed, go ahead and put it on your calander for next year. What else you gonna do? SAM
  14. Well I would like to be the first to congratulate my friend Johnny Brister from Mississippi. With his 2.55 clean run on Bang and Clang that will be his 6th 100% and make him the first ALL GUN GM !!!!!!! and like Mr. Walsh one of the latest Revolver GMs!!!!! Congratulations Johnny!!!!! You too Cliff !!!!! SAM
  15. With his 2.55 clean Bang and Clang with a wheel gun (100%) I would like to congratulate my friend from Mississippi................. The FIRST ALL gun GM.........................(not counting Single stack because it is NOT a division)(Just waiting on the latest update from USPSA) Johnny Brister!!!!! The Revolver GM finishes the quest for all division GMs........which I had to really talk him into. So If you folks want to see a real shooter in action, come down to the Mississippi state match next spring and watch Mr. Brister.........you won't be dissapointed. could not have happened to better person either. SAM KEEN
  16. Whoo Hoo !!!!!! See I told ya'll so!! don't listen to the silly guy from Tennessee, those hillbillies "don't know nuttin" Congratulations Kay! SAM
  17. I have already recruited 2 for the USPSA Nationals in 2007!!! Slots won't be a problem as the sections they are members of never use all their slots up anyway. I have some reservations on the IDPA nationals though, some of the participants I have spoken to were really not happy with them this year for several reasons. Will have to think on that. Me personally, will not make the trip to California to shoot the IRC. IF and When they ever move it out of California (like Arizona) I'll be there. Bones, which is the bigger division at the Winter Nats........ESR or SSR? (If I can make it) SAM
  18. Nemo and others, To answer Carmoneys suggestion that I would know about the Precision bullets in a 25-2.... when I was shooting the Precision bullets from Kemp TX (Black bullets) I did not have my 25-2 at the time............so no help there, sorry. SAM

    S&w 646

Nemo, I have 2 of them. One is for shooting, the other is for investment purposes...........more on that in a bit. The 646 is a "L" frame sized revo(same size as a 686). It was originally a performance center gun only then the rest of the parts was made into a production run of only 900 or so (see the investment?) It is a 4 inch gun only (as far as I know) and has a titanium cylinder making it very light and heavy ammo has a good bit of "OOMPH" I don't particularly like shooting my USPSA major loads in it very much if at all. Now it was a good gun for IDPA until the moonclip/speedloader split, now it is pretty much usless for that game. I still shoot mine in ICORE matches when I can attend one. for a "match" gun, I don't recomend it. But it would be a great gun to start off women, or children off with if you load up some really soft shooting loads for it. If you have any more questions about it just PM me. SAM
  20. Athena has been shooting like a Fiend this year.............but I have to go with Kay Miculek and Athena only 1 % behind her. Good luck to all, and have fun. SAM
  21. And Congrats as well to Redmist10, for edging Phil at the Ohio match. Many wheel gunners showing the rest of the USPSA crowd just what can be done with some of those........"Silly things that spin" (M. V.) And yes I had a blast shooting the Benny Blaster at North Carolina, I hit everything I aimed at...........including the No shoots, the Berm (minus the target) and even the targets occasionally !!! Sam
  22. My Congratulations to Bob; he with stood getting his daugther married, and then drove all the way down and then with stood the onslaught brought forth by Dennis and the rest. Congrats Bob!
  23. This year except for one match I have been using my 25-2, I will be brandishing my 646 at the ICORE match in Mississippi later this month but that is a little off the subject. I have yet to decide if the 25 is better than the 625.............I know the 625 is a bit more nose heavy and doesn't seem to have much muzzle lift, but I have had good results with the 25 back when I first got it and actually shot much. If I had to go to nationals again tomorrow, I guess I'd take the 25 this time. CR speed Belt and holster, I do my own action work.............all my smiths run 100% at 6 pounds DA pull..........most run at 5 ish so I just run them all at 6 so I can swap up if needed and the trigger will not be any different. Vic Pickett Black Majic spring kits Hearthco Moons at all major matches And I still use all black sights front and back. Jerry's grips. But I'm just a dummy that shoots. SAM
  24. Also include the North Carolina section in that if you will..... The numbers are getting great....30 plus at Iowa, 9 or 10 at Ohio, 11 or 12 at North Carolina, and 4 or 5 at Florida...................... looks to be around 60 wheelgunners at an USPSA major match all on the same weekend, all be it not at the same place..................Just have to work on that next year. Keep up the good work, I have been told under the table that the future of the Revolver division in USPSA is not as bleak as it has been. I myself will be working hard to bring not one more but two more to the 2007 USPSA Nationals...............and am really thinking about attending the IDPA nationals in 2007 also. SAM
