Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. I checked out the Roth web site and it appears the p320 holster is for the compact model, yet it looks like an RX full size in the pics. I checked this out on the Roth web site and its listed as being for the compact model even thou it appears to be the RX model in the pic which I thought was a full size. Going to pick up my new RX at Cabelas today and am looking for a holster. Does this fit the full size p320?
  2. Im going to bump it again and call it good for that combo, at least I can start shooting a bit. I have some other bullets coming. Would like to stay with one of the powders I already have. thanks
  3. Yea, 150 gr here as well and thats what I used for the PF out of the 627 with moons.
  4. Thanks for the info guys. I took the OAL down to 1.170 and it still looks fine. Worked up to 3.3grs TG and just made PF. To close though at 126. Cant find anyone loading more then that. May have to do some more poking around.
  5. So Im trying to work up a load for USPSA Revolver. I have Short Colt brass and a Blue 147gr bullet. I have to load long to avoid getting a bulge in the brass at the bass of the seated bullet. 1.200 OAL works well. So my question is, If I loaded Long brass to this same OAL (getting more bullet in the case) would there be a difference in reload speed. Would I still have the bulge problem? I know there would be a little more brass to extract. I guess Im thinking the Long brass would be better but almost every one uses the Short brass. What am I missing? Another way to ask this, is there more room for a bullet in the Long brass before the side walls thicken/taper?
  6. Ill check into that, thanks Ive ran 2 types of reloads and 2 types of factory and they all do the same thing to different degrees.
  7. umm...Just fired the last 5 of 50 of the factory PMC's. The ones that's been running. Well the slide locked back on the last round and guess what, the last fired case was laying on the follower! Is it possible my problem is not extraction? But ejection? As stated earlier the ejection is on the weak side. I don't see how a case left on top of the mag could ever be rechambered thou, it would most likely stove pipe. The extractor must be letting loose early in the cycle. So much for the factory ammo test, box of 50 and it failed on round number 50! I guess that is good. If it was going to fail on round 51 I would of never known and would of remained under the impression all was good with that ammo! Im going to start shooting up those FMJ reloads I found and if I have one more failure Im going to replace the extractor.
  8. Just ran two mags thru the Glock...perfect. I did fail to mention that these reloads once in awhile don't go to slide lock on the last round, I assume a lighter recoil spring will cure this and that its not related to the extraction problem. I have thought about just replacing the extractor, but less so now that I've seen it work with the factory PMC's. How hard is it to properly fit a new one? Something I could do myself with a little youtube help? When searching thru my gun room for the Glock mags they were found with a large container of 9mm reloads. These were what I had reloaded for the Glock to have a go at production several years ago. FMJ and no data. But they run thru the RIA without FTEX. Did still have failure to lock slide on last shot. This just seems weird. I haven't bumped up the charge yet, maybe I should, just can't wrap my head around that as the reason for FTEX,s. Slide lock, yes. Sooty case, yes. Thanks Mike
  9. Keep me posted Scott, I may have to copy from you .
  10. OK...couldnt find any WWB but got some PMC 115gr ammo. It cronoed about the same as my reloads PF wise. But it seems to run without failures to extract. I shot four full 10 rd mags while alternating with full mags of my above mentioned reloads. Not a one of my reload mags didn't have a failure to extract. So it seems the problem is my reloads. What could be wrong with them to cause this issue? I can't find anything with the dial calibers. The PMC OAL is longer at 1.155. Going to load some more and run thru the Glock. I ran one 10rd mag thru the Glock and it ran just find. Thanks for any help and direction in this matter. I did start looking at the head stamp on the cases that failed to extract to see if there was a theme going on. but there was no one specific brand.
  11. After you recoup the moon cost and don't have to many stepped on my the pasters maybe . I have over a K clips for the 625 and always had all the ammo for a match loaded into clips and plunk tested before a match. What little 627 shooting I have done was enough to know that the 627 clips are easy to get bent.
  12. So Looked back over the match results for 2016 at my home range (Rayners Range http://www.raynersrange.com/archive/2016/2016.html ) and it looks like they might be averaging more revo shooters now then when I was shooting. And the SS turn out looks more meager then the revo shooters. Rayners Range is an awesome place to shoot USPSA for several reasons and one being that you can reshoot in a different division (reshoot scores don't count for the match). So to sort things out I think I will try sticking with revo with the 627 and try other divisions by reshooting the match. Ill pay close attention to the larger matchs that I like to shoot for the number of revo shooters that sign up. Ill make the 2017 season a practice run to see if I can shoot worth a hoot and to decide which division I want to compete in. Then Ill be classified again and ready to go full bore in 2018. Lost my classification. My new card has all X's.
  13. Its already been there, just didn't like it as well as a 625. I may make an effort to adapt though.
  14. Never say ever Mike! Long time no see my friend. Couldn't help bringing this up. Find it a little funny...how time changes every thing. Dont know if you've seen my resent post, Ive not been shooting for several years and am inclined to get back into it this year. Imagine my surprise when I learn the general consensus on the forum is that my 625 is not competitive any more. So.....since your a mentor of mine I will again be asking for your words of wisdom. Switch divisions or learn to shoot the 627 I have?
  15. So I watched a youtube video on the 1911 extracter tension and decided to test mine like it showed. It held a fired case but wouldn't hold a factory federal round, I pulled it out and bent it a little (more tension). It now holds the factory round. I will test tomorrow, fingers crossed.
