Am I seeing things or is that a 646 on the bottom left? Hopalong............you know, the guy who takes your lunch money !!!
  2. Trapper is spot on with the 2520 and the 168 grn HPBT Hornady or Sierra are great. Mine likes Hornady just a little better (1.25 " @ 200 ) I also have good results with 4064 but not at the Max load end, it gets wild for some reason. If you can find it, (GOOD LUCK) the military 7.62 LR Lake City is AWSOME !!!!! mine really likes it about the 2520 vs the 4064, I like the 2520 for the ease of metering, esp when making "Mass Production" (mid range and in 41.5 grns 2520 147 grn winchester fmj boat tail winchester large rifle with commercial mixed brass). That load gives me Major P.F. over the chrono and 3/4 inch groups at 100 yds in my 18" scout squad. remember, you'll gain fps with the longer barrell of a std M1A so take that into consideration but the loads I have all fall into the safe range in my loading books. Hopalong
  3. Good for you Gregg !!!!! congrats to you and all the others out there doing your part. Hop
  4. Redmist, "Action Pistol" treatment or rather "Butchery by Hopalong!" It had a .500 wide grooved trigger, and I replaced it with a .400 smooth. Original hammer with the original trigger sitting in the house for spare or whatever. I put a Vic Pickett Black Majik kit in it while I was in there doing my VOO DOO majik. Nemo has a Ti cylinder in his too, so you can ask Pat or Nemo what they think. Need more info drop me a PM. Hop
  5. Cliff, I thought Jim was supposed to back by now????? I guess when you're makin bacon you'd better get it while the grass is green ! Looking forward to it, see you there. Hop
  6. I'll be there sporting a Kimber Eclipse, shooting L-10. (yes, I do have other guns besides revolvers) Rodney forgot what he signed up for but it'll be either Limited or Production. Bill and Dennis will be shooting Limited, as will Stan. See ya'll there, Hopalong
  7. Chris, That's cool. It looks like I'll have to work all weekend anyway. good thing about that is I can use the $$$$$ Have fun and see ya'll at A-6 3-gun. Hop
  8. KA CHING !!!!!!!! $$$$$$$$$$$$$
  9. NOT the lead in side of the notch. It is not peened off, it is just completely rounded and gone. I have never seen one like it or even remotely similar. it appears to me that the hardening they do around the notches was either too hard and making it brittle or too soft and just leaving. Oh, and another person wanting my 25-2 ! (Sorry Matt, but If/when I quit it goes back to Chad) Hop
  10. Brit, Traditionally, USPSA nationals are before the World shoot as a Tune-up for them. Hop
  11. See ya'll there, gonna be grand. I've help build the stages, If you aren't having fun at this match you won't be able to have fun. Please introduce yourself, I'll be the guy running stage 10. Hopalong
  12. Congrats El Conquistador !!!!!!! You may have a cool one on me next time we meet ! Hop
  13. Looks like for me it'll be TN section. Have to think about any others. Hop
  14. You know, The better half of Odie Dehan. Oh and she also was making pictures at the Nationals this year on seems like stage 6?????? Hop
  15. I talked with Jerry at the Nationals last week, asked him if he'd be able to make it to Jackson. He said he had Smith & Wesson business to attend to. I may or may not be there, but if I am able to attend I'll see you guys/gals there. Hop
  16. Well the Nationals are over. Congratulations go out to all the winners. The Public Challenge did not do too much to increase the participation of Revolver division this year, which was pretty dissapointing to me may I add. We as a division ended up with 39 wheelgunners, up 6 from last year (that was up 15 from the year before ) To answer Pat Sweeney's question.......... Yes I guess we are going to let the Euopeans out do us! Good for them. I want to thank: Bob Perdue for his offer of one of his MOONCLIP HOLDERS Randy Lee for his offer of one of his HAMMERS Dave Hearth for his offer of the BEST MOONCLIPS made. Keith Ulfers for his offer of $ 100 CASH and John Heiter, the Mississippi State Match director who doesn't even shoot revolvers for his offer of $100 CASH It is people like BOB, DAVE, RANDY, KEITH, and JOHN who make me proud to say I am associated with them in some kind of way. If we had made the 50 minimum, some lucky person would have walked away with over $1000 worth of loot, without even firing a shot................BUT since we didn't get that minimum.............................. TOO BAD !!!!!!!! Don't look for this offer to come again, ya'll had your chance. Hopalong
  17. Well if anyone is interested I'll add my little tid-bit of info. This was the least prepared for any major match that I have ever attended and it showed (times and score on targets were off) I can't remember ever having so many "weird" things happen to me at one match. 2 reshoots, trying to get started on 1 stage 3 different times, several other things shooting and non shooting related. for the most part it was a fun match though, watching Rodney was a bonus in itself. Hopalong
  18. To really figure one out you need to beat on it a while. typically shoot them from the top down and let gravity keep it pretty well still. If they are counter weighted all bets are off, your time on it at the practice range comes in handy here. They are not hard, only if you make them hard. I have cleaned one that was not spinning in 2.52 from the draw. I did one that was already moving in a little less than that but can't remember the exact time. Find a range that has one and spend a little quality time with it. Hopalong
  19. Eric, The way I see it is, It is only the business of the party mentioned. Now back to business................. What about Rodney May in 10th overall shooting a SIG 226 !!!!!! Seems like no one mentions those cheap, junky guns either !!! Hopalong
  20. As a match director I offered: gas one way to the match, hotel for out of towners, food and drink on the range, shoot for score if they wanted. I have RO'd for way less than that (Nothing but shooting for score) and more than that too. Time and Place makes a big factor in it. H o p
  21. Awww............ Pi$$ on it, When a person can't even BRIBE others into bringing/talking more than 6 to the NATIONALS with a chance at a GUN, MOONCLIP HOLDER, MOONCLIPS, GUN PARTS and CASH what's the use of keeping on trying................ I've been trying pretty darn hard for the last 4 years but don't seem to be getting much returns. Hop
  22. Got to congratulate my man RODNEY MAY for the 10th overall................... Not bad for a Mississippi boy, with a Sig 226 !!!! Hopalong
  23. Made it home finally, Raining here for the first time in MONTHS !!!!! a few quick notes. Good to see all the familiar faces, and meet the new ones! (not going to name them all as they are too many) Last time I saw Cliff he was headed to the after hours bar, so He's likely busy. congrats to Jerry for his CRUSHING VICTORY !!!! and to John B., Mike C., for slipping ahead of the rest of the GMs ! and a BIG congrats to B'Wana for his fist time Nationals to be the C-class champ !!!! He did great, did not try to do anything he did not have any confidence in, or silly (unlike some others I know) Got to do Laundry and get to bed as I'm pretty tuckered out. Hop Oh, and edit to add..... Since we only had 39 shooters (6 more than last year ------50% drop in growth ) NOBODY wins the new Smith & Wesson, Bobs' moonclip holder, Hearthco moons, or Randys Hammer Oh.....and 200 bucks CASH !!!!! Thanks go out to Randy Lee, Bob Perdue, Dave Hearth, Keith Ulfers and John Heiter (who doesn't even shoot revos) for their generous offers !!!!!!
