For me it depends on the target. 1------------- inside 10 yds and wide open I'll do it just the way you mentioned. .70 ish seconds and 95% A first shot 2------------- outside 10 yds and or covered, I get a good sight picture before a smooth quick trigger pull. 1.25 and 100% first shot Not much of a difference..........but I've seen where half a second will get you a match win vs. first loser. But I'm not much of a shooter now. Hopalong

  3. I used Flitz and a Felt aplicator with my DREMMELL tool on my 646 !!!! difference was night and day ! Just make it Shine, don't go crazy , HOP

  6. Chrono is no problem, I have my "special" loads for that....................................... 10 grns BULLSEY 180 grn FMJ Starline multifired brass, fireformed Winchester small Rifle primers. loaded 1.200 only because it takes that to make a compressed load. See ya'll there. Hopalong

  8. Thanks for all the well wishes (or at least the real ones). Carmoney, It's the MILES, not the AGE !!! I had a pretty good day, I was even given a gift from the friendly TN state trooper for my old age absent mindedness to "Click it or ticket" ($20 here in TN). Cliff, You're the only on who would be able to get a Birthday thread closed ! Jane, I'm really not that good of a guy, but I'm working on it. Benning 3-gun From there I HOPE to shoot the following: Arkansas Mississippi Ky 3-gun Arkansas 3-gun Tennessee MO Fall classic All else we'll "Play it by ear" Hop

    Cancer !

    Update: After 8 weeks on the standard Chemo treatment on Tuesdays and a test drug on Fridays Michaels' tumor is now 30% larger. The way He, Dawn(his wife and my friend) are looking at it is this: If the cancer had not been detected and treated how big will it be now? Michael has a great attitude but still needs prayers. So please say an extra prayer for him, Dawn and thier 3 girls. Then say one for the others that are fighting this damn disease. Thanks to all and God Bless, Hopalong

  16. Well it looks like 3 in a row !!! I was in TX visiting my friend who has cancer for X-mas. I told him I'd make a trip back to see him in the spring. His condition is not getting better so I'm going to go earlier. Gonna save the $$$$ for this match for the trip back to Floresville. Oh well, MAYBE one of these days................. Hop
  17. I have the unfortunate task of letting others know. I had the luck of meeting Ed several times but unfortunately did not get the chance to KNOW him.   21. Slots won at area matches....................(Level III matches) If you win the division you win a slot. If there are more than 20 in that division the top 3 get slots. If you are a member of the Area that is Hosting the match and you win your class you will get offered a slot. Junior, Senior, Lady win slots if there are a certain amount of shooters (usually covered at an Area match) That is from the old green book, It may have changed with the new one. Hop
