  1. The Safariland that is mentioned above. The GLS fits just about all 5" guns, just install and remove the 'shim' as needed.
  2. This. They donated a bunch of barrel certificates to MGM Ironman last year. I like the idea of donating a certificate, so you can pick out a barrel you want, not one you are selling after a match.
  3. 4895 works great, except it's a long stick powder, so you can't really run it though a Dillon well for hoser rounds. Might trade it to someone that shoots .308 or 30.06
  4. Check out Midway's AR Stoner hand guards. I just got a 13" for my 6.8 talk about LIGHT. Looks well made, maybe I'll get it on this weekend.
  5. I've shot both the green (plain) and red (copper plated), both laser accurate. Freedom still lists the green slugs but out of stock all the time and now dropped the red. Wish they would bring them back. I have some Fiocchi's they shoot fine but the Freedom Munitions are even more accurate.
  6. Depends on the match, some have rules 7 1/2 or smaller bird shot only. I use Winchester heavy load AA. Takes two timed shots to spin. If no limits on bird shot I use Prairie Storm.
  7. And if you buy $250 in steel targets from MGM the shipping is FREE. MGM makes a excellent popper, I know I've had to fix many OTHER brands.
  8. Ben Stoeger Pro Shop has a deal for 25 targets plus a roll of pasters for $22.95. Shouldn't been too expensive on shipping for only 25 targets.
  9. I don't think it's a bad sign, but a plate rack is pretty big for most people who don't own their own range to get to the range. Most of us that don't own our own range use the MGM auto poppers and 'C' zones.
  10. This +2 Ben has the dry fire drills figured out. Had a statement made at a class I was in that it takes 250,000 rounds of live ammo for a person to make Grand Master. Ben made it to Grand Master in about 8,000 rounds of live ammo fired. Now some of this may just be Ben's natural talent, but he figured something out that many others had not.
  11. I removed my middle bead, put in a HiViz front sight and machined the rib for a XS rear sight. I used Feedom Munition slugs they shoot like lasers, I shoot my spinner at 60 yds off hand, if I do my part I spin it every time.
  12. Was a great match, one of the BEST organized I have been to, ran within minutes of on time not hours like many others. Over half the stages were natural terrain, so had just the right mix for a good match. Stages where challenging, but not gimmicky. Having the A&M cadets doing a majority of the resetting was great, I hope they are back next year. Kurt, Brian, Aaron, and all the hard working staff GREAT JOB!!!
  13. For the price $59 is a good deal for the amount of work to make the levers, also MGM has the best selection of levers. Before the Razor II came out I had a oddball 1-6 scope, a quick call to MGM was able to tell me what lever fit the scope. Can't beat good service and a quality product.
  14. I know there are a lot of people swear Benelli's but Benelli was bought up by Beretta quite a few years ago. Benelli started out as motorcycle manufacture after WW II, where as Beretta has been making shotgun for over 500 years. Beretta is the oldest company in the world. Both guns have the Italian quality, Italians for the most part do very fine machine work.
  15. I shoot a Beretta 1301, nothing wrong with it. The gun has NEVER left me down in a match. Only thing 'wrong' with it is the serial number is kind of close to the loading port.
  16. I just drilled holes in my Shooter Connection belt and bolted the ELS mounts to the belt.
  17. Many places use USPS Priority Mail, MOA Targets ships many targets free for orders over $150. MOA makes a 95% 'C' zone target that fits in a large Priority game box. I have bought 3 of the MOA 'C' zones and mounts, all fit in one box. I feel sorry for the girl that delivers my mail, the worst was a Blue Bullet order of 12,000 bullets.
  18. Safariland GLS should work. Not sure if long, or normal length.
  19. I looked at the GSI bullet feeder, main thing I didn't like was having to buy parts to run each different 9mm bullet. The Mr. BF includes everything to load the different combinations of 9mm bullets.
  20. The inner belts are pretty stiff, but break in easily. The outer sticks like glue to the inner. For last few years I had used a CRSpeed inner belt with my ELS outer the Safariland inners were real weak holding an outer.
  21. I bought 2 Shooter Connection belts, I love them. They are very stiff and don't feel cheap.
  22. I measured from the hole to the pin on my ELS and added 4", was a bit longer, but that is how I like my belts.
