  1. I have run these all day long in an STI 2011, STI 1911, Glock (short OAL 1.085) at 3.8 to 4.3 at 1140 in a 124 grain and 121g, my logs show the Montana Gold 124g JHPs were set at 3.9 of V320 at 1.100 OAL and shorter in the Glock to 1.080 at the same charge. Chrono for match loads of course, hope this helps.
  2. Longshot makes a lot of gas and lower powder drops to make major..it is loud but flat..I run it it in my PCC..N 105 for minor (Steel) and major Tru Blue are my go to choices after trying 6 or 7 diff powders. Your gun bullet config will determine which powder keeps the dot movement minimal.
  3. Lee U die for knocking any glocked brass bulge out
  4. Kick that TG up to 3.1 and test chrono the PCC.
  5. I built 2 PCCs one has a Wilson barrel the backup has a KAW..at the same time my buddy built his with a KAW barrel too...after testing 8-9 diff powders we settled on WST & Longshot, the dramatic challenge was the KAW barrel ran 200 fps on average faster than the Wilson, this includes 2 other Master level shooters in our gang that have JPs. Barrels can make a dramatic diff on which powder/Chrono results you get. We tried Clays and Titegroup and found ALL 3 barrel makers preferred TG a little hotter load for overall consistent behaviour. In your barrel, 2.9 may not be enough horsepower.
  6. WST is running nice in my PCC..decent pistol load.
  7. Sounds like your now running in production or limited..I run a PCC 9mm and tried the 105 with 115g and 121 but didnt like it..I think it was a compressed load at 5.9g or 5.6..did not try it in a handgun..experiment with the dot and diff loads, a light bullet will take a fair amount of powder..heavier may be better to start the experiment
  8. Back when..I left .38 Supercomp major loads in the tumbler for 4 or more hours when I got busy doing other stuff...no issues running them at all. What I did notice was some of them due the weight clattered around the bottom of the tumbler more than others and picked up black streaks on the case from the gunk layered on the plastic at the bottom of the tumbler....these I had to hand clean and thus ended my "loaded" tumbling excersize.
  9. I have run this for years in my Open Gun at Major...like zzT states I run run it down to 150pf for steel challenge..runs fine....I have 15 1 pounders... if you want more...
  10. 1 shot is thin but runs thru the dies very loose...I think any residue after loading helps in feeding the bang stick as well.
  11. 1 shot case lube to load ..and then fire...Never tumbled after loading .40, ...45...over 10,000 rounds 9mm thru my PCC and over 20,000 rounds 38 supercomp in my open gun....waste of effort-time in my opinion.
  12. extreme and PD...tryimg some RMRs I just received soon.
  13. So many bolt variables bewteen these AR9s can do affect the trigger behaviour, I am also running a piston buffer with a wave spring in the rear, perhaps this condition is helping. Rounds feeding and down range consistently is always the goal. I wanted it to run like my open gun and it does..
  14. FWIW..shot many matches and I have over 8000 rounds on a hyperfire 24C with zero fails..or doubles and one in a back up AR9..using Faxon Ar style extractor 1 pc bolt in both.
  15. I have had it pushed up ..hitting a steel case that looked like the nickel I was running..but never pulled out?
  16. My Faxon and my buddies both run short..max OAL is 1.090 on JHP and TCs....my Wilson Arms is accurate and goes out to 1.140 on JHPs
  17. ...or potentially the pin is set too deep?
  18. I use the same one, my shell plate just touches the die.. lightly....one shot lube..no issues. Loaded 1000s of 9mm. Yours may be slightly out of spec? Maybe exchange it for another.
  19. Powder drops comfirmed consistent I assume?
  20. I run the MGold 121 IFI..have for years proffered o st the 124...very accurate. Test some and decide. Precision Deltas are very good too..
  21. silohuette is ok...shooting open myself in 38 supercomp..I like Viht 3N38...clean..longshot is good but loud...7625 was my only powder until disc'od...then Viht.N105 has been my go-to for years...now running exclusive with Trublue and its outstanding..also in my PCC...be interested to hear feedback on TB...good luck.
  22. I have measured the throat to rifling on 3 barrels at our Aero-Space inspection lab, the first KAW was sent back assuming it was cut too short, upon receiving the RMA barrel, same short dimensions, then bought a Wilson Arms barrel and used a depth gauge on that one and find the throat was cut deeper and JHPs and TCs could be loaded to 1.110 with no issue, IE (drop-spin) I don't know the answer to your question, only hard data that 3 KAW barrels (fellow competitor bought one too) were all short, or what we felt was shorter than acceptable. The Remington 115g RN will just drop in which are at SAMMI OAL of 1.110. TCs and JHP's will hit the rifling at the SAMMI OAL of 1.110
  23. I ran a KAW barrel that would only run loads under 1.100, then went to a WIlson barrel and it will eat most profiles out to 1.120, however..MG 124 JHP and any TC's like Berrys , or other JHP's like Deltas I still have to load max at 1.080 then there are no feeding issues. I went thru all my favorites profiles and did a drop test until I found the happy OAL and backed them off ..010 to compensate for varying brass lengths, some brass I measured were .005 to .008 variance. My max is the same as a factory white box 124g round nose are 1.110 on average, this tells me to stay away from loading long even if you can.
  24. Agreed..myself and another Master level shooter had the problem with Montana Golds in 124 CMJs ..all over the range by feet..not inches...tried a very light crimp..didnt help...now I run Berrys TP and Frontier 121s TC and they do well out to 150 yards ..straight with normal drop running viht 320 at 4.3 with a .001 -.002 crimp
