  1. Back when I shot IDPA SSR, I used a Fobus for my 686. It was very good fit and came out quickly.
  2. You may want to look at a circle dot sight. I have been running a venom for the last couple of years but will be trying out a circle dot this year. I am a little slower on stationary clays than I would like to be. my thinking is a circle dot will give me a point of reference (edge of circle) when dragging across the clay and still have the dot for more precise targets.
  3. I sold my 650 a few years ago for some of the same reasons. I wasn't shooting as much and thought I could buy what I needed. I did but found that reloading helped me to shoot more for the same price. Fast forward to last year. I purchased a LnL and had to rebuy a lot of "stuff" I had forgotten about and it was a lot. Keep it if you think you will ever have the itch to start reloading again.
  4. I’ve never ordered directly from Grams. Usually get them from a third-party. However, grams springs and followers are the best you can get.
  5. I started with a JM pro. Mine was a great gun with very few issues. I did clean it about 500-600 rounds so that may have helped. Personally I prefer a gas gun over an inertia gun but that's just what I have shot all my life.
  6. I have a Brazos 38 super with 3 holes. I have a 9mm shorty with no holes but a very large comp. As aandabooks said, powder and load development is key.
  7. Nope. There are other companies that build out a box fed shotgun but on a couple with the vepr. If you go with the vepr I would go with Dissident. I sent them a stock in box gun and they returned to me a quality gun that runs. and if you ever have an issue with it call and you will probably speak to Mike or Lan the owner.
  8. Ammo Brass LLC. Matt and family are great folks and very good to deal with.
  9. Moose, in his natural state.
  10. Below is my info from Atlanta Arms 125gr 38 super. Full size gun with 3 popples and a 4 port comp. 11. Another vote for Atlanta Arms. I've ran their 38 super before and its great. I've chronoed it also and it was plenty of PF and the SD was crazy low.
  12. I don't want to give you the wrong part number. Tomorrow call the office 980-474-1888, and speak to Steve or Hal. Tell them what you need and they will get you right one.
  13. I have one from a prize table pick up. Great bags with a ton of storage.
  14. I shoot open so it takes a lot of stuff. I use this, less hawk and cooler. It is a regular baby stroller I cut down the middle and inserted steel bars in the frames hollow bars. Just go one size down on the dia. Drill small holes in both ends of cut frame and insert hitch pins. I also drilled holes at the cut line to collapse back to original size if I need to. (PCC, 2-gun, pistol only matches). It still bends in middle to fold up for travel. I pack gear in a SKB 3019-12. All of this flies if I go to west coast event.
  15. The best bet for the mags will be to send them to Dissident Arms and get tuned. The magpul furniture is way more shooter friendly. I have AGL trigger in mine. It was installed by Dissident when they did my upgrade. Carolina Shooters Supply has a ton of parts if you want to do the work yourself including magazines. They are one of my sponsors so when you get ready to order, let know and I can send you a coupon code to save a few.
  16. It looks like you are in the Atlanta area so I am going to throw out Jeff Abernathy at Tommy Guns USA. He has built several of my guns and they are rock solid. The last open gun he built me was way below your budget. He will however trick it up as much as you want. He will give you a build sheet with his preferred parts list or you can send him anything you want. The reason he has a preferred parts list is some folks want it pushed to the edge and the parts on his list are all top quality and guaranteed to work. The pic is a dedicated 3-gun 9mm shorty he did last year.
  17. I currently run a Vortex Venom on my Dissident gun. Nothing bad to say about the Vortex but looking forward to trying out a Holosun next year. Whatever you pick, it will take a beating for most 3-gun matches.
  18. If you are located anywhere close to east coast, look up Tommy Guns. Jeff Abernathy builds some great guns.
  19. Thanks. I have a wide Nitro Fin on mine. So very similar.
  20. Thanks. Do you have a thumb rest/*thumb rest [generic]*, etc?
  21. I see a block out on your pic above on the right side of the gun. What did you use for this. I assume that this is for the hangar/connection system.
  22. Anybody know of makers (kydex) of open pistol holsters for 3-gun? Not a lot of folks do it since they are not as many shooters in division. Thanks

    New Open Gun

Check out Tommy Guns USA also. Jeff does amazing work and usually has a quick turn-a-round. You buy the parts and he builds. He will send you build sheets of what he recommends on quality parts but he will build anything you want.
  24. I don't have any experience with the Panzer but I do have with the Lynx. It's a solid gun for the money. I also have, and tested the Cheetah, a similar and earlier version. Both run about 95% out of the box. One of my sponsors is Carolina Shooters Supply and they carry a lot of aftermarket parts for them. If you have any questions, let me know. Also, If you are interested, PM me and I can hook you up with a discount code.
