  1. Aluminum is worse than that. We use a fair amount of 6061 T6 for tooling in .500", 1.00", and up. We are paying almost $3000.00 for a 48" x 144" sheet of 1.00" compared to $1200-1500 a year ago and lately we've been forced into using 1.25" where we would have used 1.00", the 1.0" stuff is hard to get and using the thicker just drives the cost up since it's all priced by the pound.
  2. Be glad, very glad, that you got it!!
  3. I work in aerospace and metals of all kinds are on a steady if not spectacular rise in price. Availability is also starting to become an issue especially with titanium and some other exotics. We are getting material quotes that are valid for 24 HOURS that used to be valid for 30-45 DAYS. The main reason given is that China is buying up everything in sight. I've also noted a pretty good jump in bullet prices over the past 6 months or so. Hope this craziness ends soon or I'll be shooting an AirSoft
  4. #2 at Whataburger (double meat), no tomatoes and add cheese, extra onions, and jalapenos supersized with a Dr Pepper Popeyes spicy, 2 wings & 2 breasts with red beans & rice. Their onion rings were some of the best I ever wrapped a lip around until they quit offering them
  5. TL, What kind of 'yak have you got ?? I'm in the market and looking for feedback / recommendations.
  6. Most anything Ross Seyfried Most anything Elmer Keith Most anything Jack O'Connor And possibly my favorite of all time....Skeeter Skelton I could always relate to Skeeter's articles since we grew up in the same part of Texas and when he talked about things he saw or did as a boy and young man it seemed that I had similar experiences. Sad day for me when he died.
  7. If in doubt pull the bullets. I've got 200 rds. of .40 in the garage I need to do that with due to a glitch, now fixed, in my 1050. I loaded the ammo, slept on the idea that there MIGHT be a double charge somewhere in the batch, and got up at 0500 the next morning and loaded more ammo for that days match. Even if I scrap it it's cheaper than replacing a gun to say nothing of the peace of mind.
  8. Aaaaah Texas It was a BEAUTIFUL day Saturday in Waco
  9. Sorry DJ that was me.... It's always good to put a face to a name. And you were incognito until I saw the Area 4 DVD's
  10. Damn I'm glad I still live in Texas where coffee is simply......coffee
  11. Waco shoots Saturday. Dallas IDPA shoots Sunday at Elm Fork http://www.dallasidpa.com/ Ferris isn't shooting USPSA anymore to my knowledge, they are shooting IDPA and IDSA. The IDSA match is Saturday. Sgtglock is right, Coleman is 3-3.5 hours.
  12. I don't have an Edge but my Eagle in .40 has been 100% since day 1. FWIW, I bought it from Brazos Custom. Bob goes through all STI's purchased through them and checks for obvious problems before delivery. It's not a full tune-up but it should take care of anything major and obvious.
  13. It took me a while to compose this post for that very reason.
  14. The Dell call center in India is a particular passion of mine. I was late on a single payment last year and got the dreaded phone call from India. I listened politely and told the caller that I would make the payment that day. He told me that I needed to make the payment NOW and that he would be glad to take my credit card info. I declined to do that with the thought in mind that was no way in h*ll I was giving CC info to someone over the phone and off-shore. He then asked for my checking account number and, with the same thought in mind, I again refused. He got pretty agitated and started running off at the mouth unintelligibly. All I could understand was that he wanted me to make a payment right then and why wouldn't I cooperate with him. I finally asked him where he was physically located and he replied New Delhi. I told there was his answer as to why I wouldn't be making a payment through him and hung up. Payment is on auto draft through my bank now so I don't have to go through all that again.
  15. Consider your first match a success as long as no one leaves with more holes than they came with and you don't DQ. Relax, BS with other shooters, and enjoy yourself. Remember, you're doing this for fun
  16. I'm loading 4.2 of TG and the 185 Precision for my STI. Works well although a bit smokier than I would like but I do like cheaper bullets so I guess I'll stick with it for a while
  17. D/FW area Regular is $2.15 - $2.20 / gallon After reading this thread I'm feeling lucky about it too.....
  18. If you add up a 650 with strong mount, roller handle, and case feeder you are almost into 1050 country from a price standpoint. Trust me once you load on a 1050 nothing else compares.
  19. HG, What powder are you loading ??
  20. Doesn't seem to be much of an issue for me as long as I can hand-off the timer or clip board a couple of shooters prior to me shooting. As long as I can do that I can clear my mind and rethink what I need to do before I shoot.
  21. Have you given any thought to Titegroup ?? Works well with jacketed.
  22. Get a 1050, you'll finally be able to load as fast as you can shoot.
  23. SV magwells will fit the box without trimming. I've got one on my "dual use" Eagle with bushing barrel. As to the weight issue I haven't worried about it, the gun weighs 34 oz less magwell and mag. My magwell is aluminum but several of the other guys in this area have stainless SV's on their guns and I have never heard of anyone getting dinged on weight.
