  1. Brian and I were actually making plans on how the hell to get there and where to stay. I dusted off the old shotgun bandoleers.
  2. Well ericm, looks like i will not be attending your match. Have fun applying camo duct tape.
  3. In what world is the DCD daylight visible? i think you were joking. but if you take off the illumination module it allows to you to mount it with a 30mm ring- thus solving the mounting issue
  4. If you are looking at the vx6 line- yes it is very light-the glass and fov looks very good. but the CM-r reticle that looks awesome on a computer in black and white is not close to being daylight visible. the firedot is yes visible in the daytime. but if you are looking at the vx6 the firedots are the only option if you want a daylight visible dot, although their issue is the push button illum controls being not as intuitive as leopolds advertising would have you believe. the tr24r would be the scope of choice- the best in class illumination very light weight.
  5. maybe the best option. works awesome, cheap, functional. http://www.amazon.com/Breakaway-Nylon-Coasters/dp/B009SPDU3C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1440128298&sr=8-1&keywords=throw+lever

  7. Why do people keep saying this? I find it to be a fairly to spec gas port. Which does not lend itself to use with low mass components without a adjustable gas block and well in my experience that will ruin your match or give you problems at some time. Your statement is the reason i bought the nordic barrels. the 18" nordic's gas port is.96(what they leave the factory at) milspec rifle length is .93? they said the 2" difference is the reason for a larger than milspec but...
  8. the gas port is not reduced. I read that somewhere too. I did not want to have to use an adjustable gas block either. but that is not the case on either their 16" or their 18" both shoot awesome, very accurate. but they don't have reduced port sizes. my next barrel will come with a gas port drilled so that i can drill it myself. the somehow claim that it is reduced, although it doesn't say anything about that on their website.
  9. based on the first link the (colt match trigger is 6lbs. i am still laughing
  10. one reason bdc doesn't seem important to me. you still have to know what the 400y mark actually does for you..
  11. really what is hard about 8moa at 500. basically hold the base of the triangle at the tip top or a touch over the top of the target. poor reticle agreed but i would take it over a bdc that doesnt match your loads:)
  12. someone copied and pasted this thread in arfcom http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_18/670065_Trijicon_1_6__not_the_VCOG.html the thread there is a bit more active but still speculative in nature. to clarify. the scope is a fiber optic (assuming tritium duel illumination) No batteries.... I dont know where the arfcom people are seeing a led and batteries based on the pictures. still trying to find more info on the scope. and will be holding off on a scope for my .308 until then.
  13. glass quality appeared better than 1-4 but i could not side by side compare. and the tr24 is a great scope(no batteries, awesome illumination, awesome wide range eye box) yes it lacks a perfect reticle. but with the triangle and knowing your zero it can be done. (zerod at close to 300y) the reticle in the above scope was a ? it looked like most hunting type crosshairs with modified*> german #4 but i am hopeful for vcog or bdc reticles. again i have no real info on the scope, i was hoping some here could shed some more light on the subject. i want to buy one. here is my 2k$....
  14. To start this off my favorite 3gun scope is a trijicon tr24r. if that in your mind take away from my credibility so be it. the tr24 doesn't have the clearest glass or best fov. but it is the most forgiving eye box and that makes such a difference for me. I Can't find this on the internet anywhere.. I got to look through it today and i snapped some pictures. I don't have any specs or further details. chime in if you know something I want one. Links below, We will call it a leak. trijicon is either tight lipped about the new scope do the poor performance of the vcog and still trying to get it out of stores or it truely is just a one off. https://www.dropbox.com/s/p1nrfbaveyjjag4/2015-03-02%2014.02.53.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/ix8n0babu8t9zyf/2015-03-02%2014.03.01.jpg?dl=0
  15. stealthy, Load at max pressure and then work your way up I am 3grains above maxed listed and still only 3100fps.
  16. like a bi focal just look down a bit without moving your head. just not as clear as a decent or low end scope. and the field of view is not listed. I hope this catches on in 3 gun because then I will be able to walk up to the prize table earlier while using a normal 1-4
  17. thanks. You answered the question i asked. I know what i want... I just wanted to find possibly a bulk discount deal or something because I ordered 10 packs of 100 and well I am just looking to save a few pennies. I only asked about the 68s because they seem to be a good price in a bulk box but if they are no good than bulk is pointless. but i assumed that since they did sell them in bulk that somebody must like them... Thanks for the replies and your input.
  18. the 60 vmax should be the ticket for a 16in gun as the slower powders that push 75 and 77s just dont get the velocity. 55s work fine yes. i have loaded thousands of 55s and they work good but i think the 60s will have a edge over the 55s in accuracy at longer distances
  19. I have been looking to get some bulk 60grain sp or vmax. i can only find it in a 100 round box at full retail prices. also has anyone loaded some of hornadys 68 grain hpbt? thanks
  20. The average match Doesn't shoot past 300. 300 and in doesn't need any reticle. Thats why most off the shelf "ar's" have a built in vent rib just like a nice shotgun. who needs plastic flip up sights? while test firing uppers at the range (without any sight equipment)i just aimed down the top rail like a shotgun and made hits at 300. everyone was impressed.... I wasn't.... at 300 do you actually aim with the first BDC line or do you just hold a hair high if anything? at 300 I just mid high on the target with the center crosshair or dot.
  21. Haha its like shooting a revo at a uspsa match instead of an open gun. Its probably a good cross training tool to practice trigger control. but sight -bore offset is killer. also even with some 2850 fps reloads through it. it has notably more recoil than the most basic carbine AR15.
  22. I just ordered one of these, hope I have better luck. 3moa out of a nordic barrel? you must be doing something wrong. it is as accurate as anything i have tried(noveske,jp,wilson, lilja, lothar, daniel, lmt) Easily 1moa or better. i have shot a 1.2inch group with wolf and no sandbags. Sam
