Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Brian and I were actually making plans on how the hell to get there and where to stay. I dusted off the old shotgun bandoleers.
  2. Well ericm, looks like i will not be attending your match. Have fun applying camo duct tape.
  3. In what world is the DCD daylight visible? i think you were joking. but if you take off the illumination module it allows to you to mount it with a 30mm ring- thus solving the mounting issue
  4. If you are looking at the vx6 line- yes it is very light-the glass and fov looks very good. but the CM-r reticle that looks awesome on a computer in black and white is not close to being daylight visible. the firedot is yes visible in the daytime. but if you are looking at the vx6 the firedots are the only option if you want a daylight visible dot, although their issue is the push button illum controls being not as intuitive as leopolds advertising would have you believe. the tr24r would be the scope of choice- the best in class illumination very light weight.
  5. maybe the best option. works awesome, cheap, functional. http://www.amazon.com/Breakaway-Nylon-Coasters/dp/B009SPDU3C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1440128298&sr=8-1&keywords=throw+lever

  7. Why do people keep saying this? I find it to be a fairly to spec gas port. Which does not lend itself to use with low mass components without a adjustable gas block and well in my experience that will ruin your match or give you problems at some time. Your statement is the reason i bought the nordic barrels. the 18" nordic's gas port is.96(what they leave the factory at) milspec rifle length is .93? they said the 2" difference is the reason for a larger than milspec but...
  8. the gas port is not reduced. I read that somewhere too. I did not want to have to use an adjustable gas block either. but that is not the case on either their 16" or their 18" both shoot awesome, very accurate. but they don't have reduced port sizes. my next barrel will come with a gas port drilled so that i can drill it myself. the somehow claim that it is reduced, although it doesn't say anything about that on their website.
  9. based on the first link the (colt match trigger is 6lbs. i am still laughing
  10. one reason bdc doesn't seem important to me. you still have to know what the 400y mark actually does for you..
  11. really what is hard about 8moa at 500. basically hold the base of the triangle at the tip top or a touch over the top of the target. poor reticle agreed but i would take it over a bdc that doesnt match your loads:)
  12. someone copied and pasted this thread in arfcom http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_18/670065_Trijicon_1_6__not_the_VCOG.html the thread there is a bit more active but still speculative in nature. to clarify. the scope is a fiber optic (assuming tritium duel illumination) No batteries.... I dont know where the arfcom people are seeing a led and batteries based on the pictures. still trying to find more info on the scope. and will be holding off on a scope for my .308 until then.
