  1. How about Kahles 1-6 impressive scope
  2. Same issue here with the versamax and slugs they shoot very high and right, other than moving the rear sight all the way to the left the only other solution I found is to aim low and left at slug targets over 50 yards. I use an improved cylinder choke and rio slugs
  3. I mounted a jp red dot to a versamax and I sighted in with slugs at 50 yards then I went to shoot some trap and wow! I usually miss 1 - 3 clays but with the optic I had 2 clean runs!
  4. Just bought the Kahles 1 - 6 and the field of view is amazing and the illumination is perfect. I doubt you can get a better scope in 1 - 6 magnification.
  5. I have the Drissel cat tail and fits perfect and doesn't move.
  6. Lone Wolf made in Korea, Storm Lake made in the USA so they are not exactly the same. I own both storm lake and kkm Glock barrels and shooting with a delta point at 20 yards from a bench rest the kkm is more accurate by a hair.
  7. I find the dump pouch very useful, I put there the pistol and or rifle mags that I'm going to use to make ready that way I don't use the ones on my belt also when I clear the rifle or hand gun I just dump the mags there at the end of the stage. It's a lot easier than trying to put a mag back in the belt pouches with the adrenaline still rushing, I see many shooters fumble mags when trying to clear their guns.
  8. This Saturday at rio salado in Mesa there is a match, lots of fun and friendly crew any shotgun and AR 15 will work fine then well... You will want to upgrade to the latest and greatest since you shoot open you know what I'm talking about my only recommendation is to find a good holster for your open gun I've seen many open shooters get dq'ed because the open race holsters aren't secure enough and the pistol ends up in the ground.
  9. Darn I looked at my versamax barrel in the area you pointed out and took me about an hour to remove all the lead! I used some hopes and a steel brush, got it almost all out manually but there were areas that the lead was caked so I attached the brush to the wireless drill and voila! Squeaky clean! There was also a significant build up in the choke I cleaned it the same way. Thanks for the heads up!
  10. I chopped it right up to the sling attachment point in the stock you can check the picture and yes there is enough thread to hold the buttpad screws.
  11. Suggest check post 389 page 16 to see what I did to mine, no problems since I modified it.
  12. I have the Timney and JP. I prefer the Timney by a hair
  13. I found it here http://techeyes.com/brands/trijicon/trijicon-magnified-optics/trijicon-vcog.html Better price than amazon plus a 10% discount. I ordered one
  14. That compensator works with major loads the best otherwise you are going to have FTE and if you go below an 11lb recoil spring the slide is not going to lock consistently. I suggest change your compensator to shoot minor.
  15. Can't see the picture of the new elixir! I need some!
  16. That makes sense I guess it can be one of those hyperawarness situations that when tied to anxiety can make anybody's life miserable and that's possibly why Xanax seems to works
  17. Here you go http://youngmanufacturing.net/ym-slc-super-light-carrier-complete-bolt-carrier-group.html
  18. Reading this thread made mine worse.... (Made me aware of it) Otherwise I just ignore it
  19. There are 2 IDPA, 4 USPSA, 1 steel challenge matches in Tucson a month, no need to drive to Phoenix to find a good pistol match.
  20. D wipes contain Butoxyethanol a cheap solvent that's it.
  21. If you really want to upset your wife stay in Casa Grande. Take your pick, both cities have matches every weekend. In Tucson at the Tucson Rifle Club they even have a practice match on Tuesday mornings were you can shoot several stages over and over to hone your skills. If you like 3 gun you can't beat the 2 matches held monthly in the Phoenix area. My suggestion is to find a place to stay for 4 weeks that accommodates your budget in an area that is visually pleasing in either city. otherwise your wife is not going to be happy. Winter is high tourist season in AZ all lodging rates double or triple. Pm me if you want more info. Art
  22. Check Pimapistolclub.com and tucsonrifleclub.org a match almost every weekend
  23. "I would like to get a little larger profile bolt handle. I kinda liked the one on my JM Pro, not to sharp/just rough checkering. I wonder why they made the versa one rotate? Is it to keep it from being pulled out of the bolt when racking? Any ideas?" The Taran tactical bolt handle for Benelli fits just fine
