Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. The dump pouch isn't really for a specific purpose, I've just found it useful more often than not. It sounds like everyone is saying "too much crap". So throw most of the shotgun stuff in my range bag until I get to a heavy shotgun stage?
  2. So the nearest club matches for 3 gun are once a month and 2 hours away, when I can get away from work, so I don't get to shoot a lot of them. So since I can't try my gear out very often, send me your opinions on my belt set up. Don't joke my home made shell caddies and load 2s, I'm only about $20 into the whole setup! The pistol mags go at 12 o'clock right under the belly button, the load 2s are in between the holster and pistol mags, which forces my holster to be just behind 3 o'clock, which I don't particularly like but it's not too bad. The dump pouch is directly at 6 o'clock, and the reset follows around. My shotgun holds 9 +1, so my plan with the caddies is to shoot until dry, grab the 4 and throw one in the chamber and load the 3, then load 6 from the other caddie. Any suggestions would be great!
  3. wish they were cheaper, id buy both and see what i like. none of my friends have them for me to try out. I was SUUUPER lucky and stocked up just before sandy hook and all the ammo went wonky! i have a few thousand rounds left! hopefuly by the time i get through all that the ammo companies will have regained their sence of reality!
  4. i think it would help immensly if i could just get more meat on the gun. I have small hands but can still only get one finger around the factory grip, the fatter grip looks like i might get two fingers, plus its wider
  5. as an asside, this is what i lubed my berretta with in the desert, did not collect dirt and didnt break down with temperature.
  6. thanks for the feedback, do you think the back of that grip being rounded hurts your accuracy at all?
  7. ok i know this isnt "done" here because its a competition site and this is definately not a competition gun, buuuuut... suggestions I have a NAA 22 mini revolver in 22lr with the factory rosewood birdhead grips I decided i can no longer live with the grip. I need a bigger one, and am looking between these two: boot grip oversize grip Two questions: which will make me shoot more accurately which will look LESS like a gun if i keep the pistol in my change pocket in my jeans and the grip sticks out. experience with the gun would be nice to hear too Background: i have several hundred rounds through the gun and can barely hit the broad side of a barn from inside it, and this is the gun i carry when im not carrying a gun. i have no illusions about it, i know im carrying a 22
  8. I use a product called gun butter for all my moving parts. I really like it, its not verry popular though. I used to shoot with the guys who made it in WA state, i guess they sponsor shooters now with it or something. anyway, link to follow http://www.gunbutter.com/
  9. so is there a way to test it in the workshop?
  10. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! you sir win all my innernets!
  11. so this gun is still fairly new to me, but ive gotten pretty well aquainted with it, but still have a rookie question. in the shop (not actualy shooting) i am cycling the gun by hand, and the bolt is locking back on every round. Is that because im doing it by hand, so the bolt is held too long, and the bolt release is reseting itself before i can release the charging handle, or have i incorrectly reassebled it? heres the specs brand new +5 mag including new spring from choate (50-100 rounds since ive installed it) new gas piston and o ring (just installed today) new action spring (just installed today) lubed the crap out of the bolt and the bolt release with a quality lube put one drop of clp on the mag follower. i read somewhere it may help but im wondering if that is the culprit. the gas tube is clean and dry or is it that they just do that when cycling by hand and im a moron?
  12. I prefer a heavy gun. I'm not in the military anymore and I don't have to carry it miles at a time, and heavier guns shoot nicer and are easier to shoot fast.
  13. I think I just need to find someone with a reloader to make me some decent dummies
