  1. They wanted to bring a gun in and not be ridiculously expensive, so the bushing gun is at least a year off. Whether or not they apply for it to be a Production Div gun is unknown. They did set precedent with the Oranges and Shadowmates that some countries got, so creating a new Orange with a bushing isn't a bad idea. But it will cost more. it also takes more time to produce which would mean smaller quantities per year vs the production that they can do with the new gun without the bushing. I'd love to post all my pics, but I can't post enough per thread to have any kind of continuity. 2. First person report here. Every year I hit Norway 2 or 3 times for matches and have shot the waterproof targets many times. The first year I went, 2010, they had two displayed at the entrance to the Kongsvinger range, one shot to shit the other virgin. Both had been up for 3 weeks and had seen rain, snow, wind, hail and lots of sun. Both looked nearly new. The shot target had some patched holes on it and the tape was still there. Initially the tape was a bit too see through, but the new tape they use is much more opaque. The targets don't cost much more than normal ones and are thinner than what I'm used to here in BC. We use a type of corrugated cardboard, and the Norway targets are more of a pressed cardboard. The tape sticks in the rain and sticks to other tape on the targets. Basically they are made from fish packaging cardboard and the tape comes from the same industry. Best targets every made in my opinion. Eric G also sells a similar target, but it's more money. I brought back a nice pile of them a few years ago, full size and mini, in the hopes of finding a similar product here, but my IPSC section was all "meh" about it. Apparently replacing targets numerous times during a match is more cost effective than using a slightly more expensive one that lasts pretty much until it's completely shot to pieces, regardless of weather.
  3. throwing in an update to my block of suggestion from a couple years ago for driving the pins out of the hammer. CZ Custom sells a nice bench block for 30 something bucks that is an excellent addition to any tinkers bench. it has a nicely cut out hammer spot on the block that securely holds the hammer while driving out pins, and is also made so you can put the disco and strut back in and put the pins back in. It's drilled so the the pins fall into the block when driven out, and captures them until you remove the hammer and flip the block over. Great great tool. It will also hold the slide securely in cutouts and the frame laying on it's right side once the safeties are removed.
  4. I run the nickleplated 9mm/40 17 round mags with +2 and a magblock inside to comply with Canadian law for 10 rounds. When international I use another magblock inside to limit to 15 per IPSC rules. This prevents the rounds from bouncing down on a hard slide lock reload (which of course one would prefer to not need to do). I've had, regardless of springs, feed issues when loading any mag to less than capacity and slamming it home on slide lock. using the blocks means the rounds won't go anywhere.
  5. the frame is 1mm thicker on each side so 2mm thicker all told How much thicker is the frame? Is it close to a large frame tanfo?
  6. yes, which is exactly what I said in both my Facebook posts and the email I sent Vince. A number of us were told this while at the show and posted about it, but apparently we are "unreliable" according to him. lol. on another note, quick question. How many images am I allowed to link to (and why is there a limit)? Trying to group the pics by content and keep getting told I'm posting too many.
  7. delete if possible-dupe
  8. Foxbat, you must have seriously messed up water dude
  9. cost would be my guess
  10. The bushing Shadow 2 is amazing to play with (not shoot as they couldn't do that at IWA). the barrel stays solid as the slide moves back, better than a regular one. Remember that the test targets are done by human beings and not ransom rests. I've shot better groups than all my test targets out of all my guns. Our Canadian edition Shadowmates however, are the nicest example of Shadows I've seen yet (outside of the 2) and in fact are tighter than the 2s we saw at IWA. the slide to frame fit is as close to an SV as you can probably get with a Shadow. Seriously tight, with every new one I run into at class being better than the previous one. And they stay tight. Should we see that with the new 2, I will be very excited.
  11. Yeah the bushing setup is slick. And of course controversial. That's my new favorite photo that I've ever taken lol. Massive props to the CZ people for indulging me and my phone.
  12. Giant yes to the new MG mags, throw a +2 MG baseplate on as well as it won't change the round count limit due to how they are dented.
  13. thanks for posting my pics above. I'll try to get the rest of them up in a public domain as soon as I get home. The gun rocks, that much I can say. In talking with the team and handling the guns at IWA I was super impressed. the reduction under the beavertail, even with the thicker frame, means smaller hands can still get a good trigger position in DA. Suggested retail is 1000 Euro (so I was off by a bit). they are aggressively marketing this gun. It has been approved as of April 1st for IPSC I am told. There were two models with accurizing bushings, I got exclusive pics of that as well as the internals. will post soon (add me as Robert Engh on facebook if you really need to see the pics now). sear cage is totally different, trigger bar looks beefier, but it could be an optical illusion. I thought the Rami slidestop would work, but because the frame is thicker it won't. they say they will make one for the 2, but that could take a long time. they were surprised to learn a lot of us use Rami slidestops in the Shadow already. the new rear sight rocks, enough so that I bought 6 and have 10 more coming. there is some weight reduction done to the springbox and the stainless recoil rod. The differences in measurements you see in publication is because some countries measure from one spot and others from a different spot. Hopefully we'll see a chart showing measurements and where they were taken One of the pics shows the new barrel in an old slide, basically it's an Oz barrel the new coating, holy fcuk. it is durable, we took two today and beat them pretty good against each other as well as dragged a knife tip over the slide. Not a mark. The new finish is tough, smooth, and slick. Machining is some of the nicest I've seen. all done on brand new machines and state of the art, including the QC afterwards. SIngle action only versions will happen The gun should be shipping with both styles of safeties in the box. Not sure if they will both be fitted or not though. Existing safeties and slidestops will not work due to the frame being wider and the rails thicker. springs are the same, at least so I was told, trigger spring, hammer spring, sear spring, firing pin spring. Sear, hammer (the new style, they had both styles installed) and trigger are new with improved hole placement and interface points. Frame slidestop pin hole is improved to help increase life of slidestop (tighter tolerances and such, sounds like voodoo to me) probably more, but it's 2:30am and I have a cab at 4am for a ride to the airport. Hoping to get a good solid 8hrs sleep on the plane (thanks sleeping pills, in advance) as I've got less than that over the last 6 days.
  14. I can run an empty spot on my 2000 without issue, the strip won't advance until the primer is gone.
  15. It's only for calibration so I don't care if the gun has to be hand cycled, thanks for the load ideas.
  16. I've been asked if I can make up some rounds for a calibration gun for a match. Gun will be a Glock 17. Bullets will be Campro 147gr plated, which I normally treat the same as jacketed. Powder will be Tightgroup and primers will be CCI. Anyone got a load I can start from?
  17. the guns or the sights? I'd expect the gun to be at least $2400
  18. that rear sight does fit the regular Shadows, I'm snagging a dozen while at IWA
  19. I don't have any issues with my grips moving on any of my guns. I know that the grip screws can come loose, but that just needs a bit of loctite to deal with.
  20. so I've always wanted to do that too, but it doesn't appear my swage hold down die does that. Is it because I've got an old one? Or am I an idiot? and again sorry for the hijack I was having index issues on my 1050 and tonight I cut the spring one coil down so that it had less bump.
  21. I've always wanted to try my RCBS measure on the the 1050, but was worried the pressure of belling in the powder station would break it.
  22. A bit of a hijack, to the last poster, ever use the RCBS with pistol cases?
  23. Correct me if I'm wrong but dont all CZs that use grip screws only use one? Never been an issue on the 6 I own
  24. I'll be at IWA and at the launch for this gun, will report as soon as I have info. I'm grabbing a bunch of the rear sights while over there as they will fit on regular Shadows and you just need a 7mm front sight for them to work. My biggest concern is going to be holsters. DAA will likely have an adapter for the Race Master holster, but I'm thinking Kydex holsters will take awhile to come online, unless they've made arrangements with someone
  25. Given what it can do to a case when the clutch is turned up, I don't see something like the U die being an issue
