  1. Wife now 2/3 the way thru radiation. She's got more hair on her head than me. She's eating like normal, taking her hikes and generally in great spirits. Life is better now. Last radiation on the 22nd, then off to Superstition. Take in a giants game and shoot 3 gun at Mesa. Been a long, nasty road, but we're there.
  2. at the array you did the reload, you engaged the steel to the far right first. some guyz hate leaving on steel, but as you came into that port, the paper on the left is what you see first. you could have shot those walking into that port, then hit the steel as you were leaving towards the other port. YMMV.
  3. 1989 steel challenge-stage called "go for broke". two shooting boxes, 3 feet apart, one in front of the other. had to shoot two outside rectangles before going to the forward box to take the last 3 plates. trick gamble was to lean into the forward box...unless you miss the 2nd plate. did it twice in a row. still looks funny as heck. enjoy!
  4. gotta admit, "it's a small world" would be a bitchin' shotgun stage.
  5. We have a couple of bald eagles that come every spring to hang out by our lakes. Damn those things are big. They fly with little effort, and fast. Beautiful to watch.
  6. Jamie-you have stock with this company? Gratuitous plugs...
  7. marine corps taught the nut shot when i was in-pretty effective.
  8. chopper in mesa grabbed my buddie's benelli once...short superstition match for him.
  9. since you used the benelli version, if you had tec tubes for the 1100, you may have to mod them as well. the benelli tec tubes have a shorter "tang" on the tip of the tube. you will likely have to take some of that length off an 1100 tube for the loader to engage the lifter properly. let me know how it works out. benny is building mine now.
  10. i did strip the gun after that stage, cleaned out a bunch of pieces of composite forend and it ran like a champ the last 2 stages. after the match i checked out the port where it went south-no way that part of the forend could have touched a port. i then turned around and looked at the location of the shotgun staging barrel behind me...guess what, there were two holes in that barrel, and one was right where a shotgun would have been staged-in my case, muzzle down, turned on it's left side. i then realized i had actually shot my own shotgun with my pistol. i remember tossing my 2 round velcro band when i disassembled the 1100, and there is more proof there, showing where the round had hit. twilight zone stuff. so, no jamming the bakersfield crew-they put on great 3 gun matches...just shows how difficult it is with a house with solid walls-impact areas can't be controlled. in the end, this 1100 is "bulletproof"-a 121 gr MG major round just pissed it off. i did completely field strip it this morning and checked everything. went through 2 boxes of shells at the range and she's still good to go. as soon as benny's finished with my 930, it'll be retired. the gentleman from AZ got it right!
  11. ok, this one puzzled me. take a look at this 1100. backdrop is this. shooting a 3 gun match yesterday at 5 dogs. stage is shotgun and pistol. start with the pistol, shoot a few swingers, enter a house, run through the hallways hosing stuff...dump pistol and grab shotgun, hose steel, flying clays and a star. i get to the shotgun, after the first shot i have a bolt action 1100. bang, cycle bolt, repeat for 21 shots. flying clays hitting the ground, star going 100 mph, a disaster. i get back to the safe area and notice this part of the forend blown out. wtf? no gas holes in that area...could i have caught it on a port on the 1st shot? ok, virtual six-pack the the person that guesses what happened.
  12. Luv pmags...use them a couple times and sell 'em...kinda like a beta mag. Fusil the bomb!

  14. What would you have rather seen, Butch? (beside s a 3-gun/Multi-gun match? ) ten paces with an airsoft gun
  15. Like Jim, i was blown away that Tom could retrain his mechanics to be as good as he was with the opposite hand. One of the nicest guys you'll ever know. I'm so sad to have not seen tom in awhile. But my world is better having known him. RIP, my dago friend...
  16. This series is starting lame. The M14 is for 300-600 yd work-not 75-100. Shoulda used the sharps for that distance. Compound bow next...snore. Already had paint guns-what's next? Derringers? DVR getting shut down for the rest of this year.
  17. They stopped asking thay cause when Troy reads a WSB, there are no questions.
  18. yep...no such thing as "ex". semper fi!
  19. Larue-the only mount you'll ever need...
