B careful-chaps on kalifornia takes on a different meaning...

Want to thank the fellow BE family-many of you I know and have shot with over the past 26 years-and many of you I will never meet. Yet the outpouring of concern is impressive. To my local friends, it'll be awhile till I see you at the range. To my buds I see at major matches, I'll miss vegas and the MG this year. Look forward to seeing you all at some point after we've kicked the shiyat outta this. Till then, thanx for the encouragement. I've shared your posts with my wife and She's encouraged. Thanx so much for the support. My safe will remain closed for some time. I'll see you all at the range when it's over.

So i waited many years to post this. Don't wish to ruffle feathers, but here goes. Came back from day of plinking back in 1985. I live in a big town of 400k+ people. Lived in a quaint neighborhood of old Italians. IAC, pulled into my own driveway way parked. Opened the trunk of my 320i to retrieve my Valmet m71-s. City cop happened to be driving by. Next thing i know I have some cheap s&w model 69 pointed at me like I'm some felon. Now, I have to tell you i do not like looking down the bore of a weapon. The war had been over for 10 years and looking down a bore was not pleasant. Ended up on my knees explaining to this cop it was my property and that I was returning from a day of shooting. This was way before our states assault weapons ban. 3 cop cars later, and a lot of heated discussion, I'm ok to go into my own house. 25 years later, I still find myself bitter with some hatred toward LEO's. All because of that incident-on my own property. I'll put my flame suit on for my buddies who wear the badge, but I find it difficult to forget this incident. I will never forget it. It definitely did not help my relations with those that are sworn.

Was in Austin for a visit. Went to a UT to watch a ball game. Before the game they asked all vets to stand up. Class act! Had at least 3 different folks offer to buy me a beer. Been out 36 years and they still were gratious. Gotta love Texas...if it wasn't so hot, I'd move there!

+1,000 our local rag had nothing it it at all yesterday. sad. this is in the annals of time. it was and always will be history. and everyone should be reminded...every year!

funny in a sick way.

So I'm shooting a shotgun/ rifle stage-10 rounds shotgun and about 14 long range rifle. Get thru the shotgun, one for one, decide to burn the 11th round. Then, move about 15 feet, dump the now empty shotgun, grab rifle and hear " Stop"! WTF? Get d/q'd for the way I burned the lastSG round. Was told it was done unsafely. Was firing thru a port, and the birdshot went thru the port! Oh well. Can't argue a d/q. Dont get me wrong-I accept it, but just don't agree with the call. I only burn if there's an advantage to do so and this was one. So, after doing this for many years, I won't be burning last rounds any longer-not when the method of burning is subjective.

Funny listening to the weak windoz arguments. Been an appleguy since the apple IIe. Have 3 macs at home and my daughter has amacbook pro at college. Had to use pcs at work for years. No comparison. Haven't found a thing a pc can do that a mac can't do better, easier and more efficiently. It is the absolute no brained. And don't tell me about unix. Used it for years as well. Gimme OSX anyday.

straight razors are kewl. i have 3 of them from my uncle's old days. got them sharpened, bought a razor strap and went at it. yes, time consuming, but once you get the knack for the angles, and avoid a mole here and there, they are tough to beat. +1 on right out of the shower. craig, if you wanna try it, im sure you can find an old barber shop around yer area where they still do shaves. you'll walk outta there feeling like someone took a belt sander to yer jibs.

coming back from setting up a stage for 3 gun...nice day, windows down, getting up to speed when my right hand suddenly is on fire. big chunk of gravel came off the tires and flew up into my hand. chunk of meat somewhere on hwy 16 right now. hey, it's 3 gun!

had some prescription sub-zeroes a few years back. they broke where the material was the thinnest. oakley stopped making them for that reason. got a full credit for another pair then. last year got some prescription half jackets-awesome.
