I just got a 6 pack of Duracell 1/3N from Amazon for $19.48 ($3.25ea) tax free & free shipping. May not be the best price but easy to order from the comfort of my easy chair.
  2. I use both. Some of mine have plastic and some have metal, never a problem with either one in 9 major.
  3. I would say that's pretty close. Your set screw is what needs to be tight so the shell plate bold doesn't turn. I usually run the shell plate bolt down to where I can barley feel the resistance of it dragging and tighten the set screw.
  4. Last one I shipped through UPS, it was the insurance that really runs the price up more so than the actual shipping fee.
  5. They were $32.99 last week when I ordered SRP.
  6. They are pinned. You can punch it out. Buy your site from Dawson and it will come with an aluminum punch to drift it. Get on his website and he has videos showing you how to do it. And yes, use Loctite. Also he tells you on his site what height site to get based on how your gun is shooting.
  7. Don't know the "best" place to get them but I got my TRS at SportingArms.com That was the best price at the time and the gun was in stock. Fast easy transaction. The gun has ran flawlessly!
  8. I had one once, of course that was before STI came into existence.
  9. I picked up another case of 40's just in case I need them
  10. I've ran plastic and steel in both the 140 and 170 mags without an issue. I run 1.165" in STI mags and need spacers in both the 140 and 170mm mags to make them 100% reliable.
  11. I probably had more problems with 9mm range brass than any over caliber as far as bullet tension. I finally changed from my Dillon 9mm sizing die to a U-die. Haven't had a problem since.
  12. That may be true but I wonder how many of the new up and coming companies will give as much back to the sport as STI does.
  13. I've had real good luck with Brazos high performance Edge and the 4 mag package deal from them. The gun and mags just run and run!
  14. Good to know, I have been waiting for them to list 121's but I've got enough 124's to get me by for the year now.
  15. Same here... I have some nice Wilson's! If you haven't seen a Bare run an entire USPSA match, come to Indiana and you can use mine. It ran just fine without any failures when I was shooting single stack. I do have to admit it would be better with a larger magwell and fiber optic sights but those have nothing to do with it's performance.
  16. Between the two, Les Baer... no doubt!
  17. I say if it ain't broke don't fix it. Once it breaks I would consider going Aftec. I have an Aftec in my open gun that has worked real well but I also have several standard extractors in my other guns without issues.
  18. Make sure you have your die set all the way down to the shell plate. I run a U-die on 40 & 9 without any issues. It will give you more of an hourglass shape and hold your bullets well to prevent setback. I still chamber check all of my rounds with a case gauge. The ones that don't pass I use for practice and the others I save for match ammo. Even though I get a few that fail the gauge they cycle just fine in my guns.
  19. I have a total of 3 STI's one is a custom build (9Major open gun), one from Shooters Connection (USPSA Single Stack), and one from Brazos (HP Edge) and all 3 are great. Maybe not the same fit & finish as my Bare's, Brown's, or Wilson's but didn't cost near as much either. As far as a competition gun they are the best bang for the buck. If you aren't satisfied contact them first and see what they will do to make it right.
  20. Nice looking blaster! I too started the season with an open gun. Still haven't mastered the dot yet. Just about the time I think I got it figured out I loose it again. It is getting better but it's not as easy as I thought it would be.
  21. I've done several with a punch and no issues but if I had access to a pusher I would give that a shot. +1 on Dawson's videos.
  22. I've always tried to keep a years worth but once things get back to normal I will be stocking up for 2 years worth of components.
