  1. I have had a 550 in the garage for over 20 years without issue. My 650 is on it's 3rd year without issue. I think it depends on how much you use it and wipe it down. Some of my Dillon dies that don't get used very often are a different story.
  2. According to their website it is... **Due to HIGH DEMAND** We are implementing ordering limits of 1 CASE or 1,000ct per bullet type. Ordering more than this per week will result in your order being rejected and your payment refunded to you.
  3. I prefer the 1911/2011 style guns for gun sports. I have some fine Wilson's, Ed Brown's, and Les Baer's that I carry on occasion but my number one carry gun is a Glock. Why, because if it gets roughed up, dropped, dirty, sweaty, or whatever it's a Glock, didn't cost a fortune and will go bang every time. I've carried a 1911 for a lot of years but anymore I prefer the lighter, less fuss of a plastic gun for the majority of my carry.
  4. My open gun I pull the upper apart and clean before every match. The lower probably every 5000 rounds or so. Probably doesn't need it that often but I like having it clean. My limited gun doesn't get cleaned near as often. I try to keep it oiled as well as the feed ramp and chamber clean. The rest of it gets cleaned whenever I feel like it.
  5. A quick call and they could tell you. There was also a Wilson employee that monitors the 1911 Forum http://forums.1911forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31 goes by the name WilsonCombatRep that could tell you what it came with.
  6. Heck I hate to leave 9's on the ground!
  7. I've got 5000 rounds on an Aftec in my open gun and no complaints here. I do have a regular extractor in my Edge limited gun that has over 10 thousand rounds on it with no problems either. But if I have problems with the Edge I may put an Aftec in it as well.
  8. On 9Major I took mine off the 650 since the cases are soo full the checker was causing more powder to spill. For cases that don't contain much powder they are nice however it's probably more peace of mind since I have never had an issue. On my 550 I loaded for years without one and never had an issue either. Just pay attention to what you are doing and you will be fine. If you want the added insurance, go for it.
  9. I have both and both work well.
  10. Not sure about the 9mm but in the 40 they make a heavy and light recoil master. I'm guessing your 9 will come with the light one so you may need to change to a full length guide rod and conventional recoil spring if it doesn't work with your loads.
  11. Looks like Brazos has some super tuned mags in stock.
  12. Once you get it in your cart this is a place to enter your coupon code.
  13. I use Hoppes #9 as well and always have. I did try some Frog Lube once and did like the smell, even the wife liked it until I told her how much it cost. She said Hoppes really wasn't that bad...
  14. Natcheze has CCI #550 Small Pistol Magnum primers in stock now... http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm?contentID=productDetail&prodID=CC0018&src=exrbSrch
  15. I wouldn't change anything on it unless you have problems. I figure when/if the recoilmaster breaks in mine I will replace it with a standard spring. The one in my Edge broke but STI sent me a replacement for free so I stayed with it. But next time I will just go with a standard recoil spring instead.
  16. I don't know about the 9mm but I have the same gun in .45 and it runs well with Wilson and Tripp mags. Never an issue with this gun.
  17. CMJ has a complete metal jacket. The bottom of the bullet is covered, no exposed lead. FMJ has exposed lead on the bottom which equals more smoke and lead deposit especially in a compensator.
  18. Sounds great. It's going to be a L O N G wait... I've purchased a super tuned Edge from Brazos as well as several tuned mags and not the first complaint. It will be worth it.
  19. I haven't loaded hundreds of thousands of rounds with Clays but I have loaded a bunch on my 550 and 650 without any issues.
  20. Just ordered a case of 9mm 124gr JHP! Thanks for the heads up.
  21. You'll be back to competing with the Colt when you get it back...
  22. Just received my 8 lbs of Silhouette today from MidSouth. I hope I see the same results I did from the 50 rounds I loaded from the pound I had. I was shooting a Montana Gold 124gr JHP from my Cheely 9Major open gun at 1392 fps with 7.9 grains of Silhouette and a SRP at a standard deviation of less than 6! The dot hardly moved within the lense and felt better in the hand than the AutoComp I have been using. I've read a lot about it being reverse temperature sensitive so I will be keeping an eye out for that. I would like to hear from the rest of you using Silhouette in 9Major, what's your thoughts?
  23. As far as semi-custom I have Wilson, Baer, and Brown in 1911. I have never had a failure with any of them.
