  1. +1 on shooter's connection. Online is going to be the way to go. Our sport is too specialized for many local stores to stock our equipment.
  2. The Grams springs are GMMS-11. I don't remember if the follower kit number. It seems like it was the spring and follow mentioned in the previous post however.
  3. I run the smith and alexander on my spartan.
  4. I've made several orders and had them all within a week.
  5. Note to self: When that little voice in you head tells you that's it's ok to go to a match with a dirty gun and not to worry about checking ammo beforehand, ignore it. Clean the gun and chamber check your ammo. Driving 60+ miles and shooting only two stages is not good. On the other hand, I did have a good time ROing and enjoyed the fellowship at the range. Lesson learned... better luck next time.
  6. For me it depends on the time of day. At dusk, dawn or moonlight the green is easier to pick up. My carry guns have green F/O on them. For bright light, I like the red. My competition guns have red F/O or plain black sights. It's not quite as bright as the green, but is still easy to pick up.
  7. I thought about being lazy tonight, but glancing at my last post;I see I have work to be done to get ready for the Alabama state match. So, as soon as I get done with this, I'll be hitting the weights. I had a great match yesterday. I finished second overall in a local match with the Ellisville club. Since it's non-afiliated, everbody shoots heads up. The only shooter to be me was shooting open. I'm pleased with my progress in Single Stack. I installed a magwell on the gun. Wow, what a difference hitting all the reloads makes. I had one mental hiccup on the first stage that resulted in me taking a miss rather than the time it took to reload. The rest of the match was CLEAN; no mikes, no deltas Looking forward to tearing it up at Mobile this Saturday.
  8. Welcome, I look forward to seeing you on the range.
  9. There is no doubt that our bodies are better able to focus and handle stress if they are physically fit. I injured my foot last spring and have just recently begun to get back into shape. I know I focus more on shooting if I'm not worrying about being out breath, hurting,or wondering if I'll actually get stopped without my inertia forcing me over the faultline.
  10. If you add them to the cart, they have a place on the checkout page for the promotional codes. It's at the top of the page when it loads.
  11. I shot a good match this past weekend with the Mobile Club. I can truly say I was in a class by myself. As it turned out, I was the only guy that shot Single Stack. I'll take the win in Single Stack , however, I also finished well overall. I finished 10th out of 26 mostly behind open shooters. I had a couple of issues with focus during the match, but I quickly recognized what was going on and got back into the right frame of mind. I need to work on my reloads with the Single Stack. They are not consistent. I'll hit two or three good reloads in a row then fumble one. I ordered a mag well from Power Factor Shooting. That should make the reloads easier. I was one for one on all but two pieces of steel That helped me keep pace with the Limited and Open shooters. I had no major gun malfunctions. I still have one or two mags that don't want to drop free sometimes. Swingers and the Texas Star were no problem. My movement was smooth except the first stage we shot when the starting box deciding to come with me on the stage. I'm back on my normal workout routine. Monday was strength training followed by shuttle runs shooting the plate rack. Tuesday was all foot work; shuttle runs on the plate rack and steel silouettes. Practice has started for the Alabama sectional Championship. I'm looking for a class win and a top ten finish.
  12. If you're running the gun with a recoil buffer, the slide may be short-stroking which will cause the bullets to nose dive.
  13. I was in the same place you were a couple of years ago. I had to decide how much I wanted to spend on an S_I or find something different. I had a buddy who shot a TS. I remembered shooting one day after a match. I started pricing the guns. I had been using S_I mags with another brand of gun I was using at the time so I didn't need to buy mags with the S_I. Then, I priced the TS. I was able to buy the gun, mags, mag bottoms, springs, and sights for about $200 less than the other gun I was looking at. The TS is the most accurate handgun I've ever shot. So, I like the TS. I like it so much that I took another one in on trade a few weeks ago.
  14. Hey, Congrats!! I've been away for a bit and just checked to see everybody's progress.
  15. I had to take a little material off the inside of my mag catch. The mag catch was pinning the mags when I hit the release sometimes. Take the slide off and push the mag catch all the way in. Look and see if there is any material visible on the inside of the grip frame. If there is, you'll need to remove the material until it flush with the grip frame. Bob Londrigan has an article on the procedure on his website that has more detail. I hope this helps.
  16. I'm sad to say that there aren't any .22 conversions for the large frame CZ's. I can't remember exactly what the compatibility is was with using the Kadet kits, but I think the size of the magazines is an issue.
  17. As far as function, my G21 has no problem with LSWC bullets. I don't run a lot of them, however, because of the issues with leading in the polygonal rifling.
  18. There's usally quite a few "D" and "C" class shooters at the big matches. The big matches are a great place to pick up a lot of shooting knowledge. Shooting at the big matches helps with "nerves" at the local matches as well. It'll really help your progress as a shooter.
  19. Wow, it's been a while. I got the CZ back from Angus, and it works great. I look forward to getting back to Limited division later this year. Right now I'm shooting Single Stack. I've worked up a good load and have most of my equipment sorted out. I had a pretty good showing at the Mobile club at the end of December. I won Single Stack and finished in the middle of the pack overall among the Limited and Open shooters. I finished third in a pistol/shotgun match here in Ellisville this past Sunday. I'm happy with my progress in Single Stack so far. It's time to get back in fighting shape. I had a couple of good runs last week. I'll start hitting the weights again this week. If the weather cooperates, I should get some good runs in this week. I like the new track. It's 1.2 miles four good hills.
  20. J.D. Sales in Canyon, Texas makes some nice cast bullets. Check them out at www.shooterready.biz.
  21. Great primers. The large rifle problems are more consistent for me than Federal Gold Match too. No problems in any of the pistols I shoot them in.
  22. Years ago I had a similar problem from a Kimber Classic Custom. It turned out that the extractor needed to be be radiused and polished. Five minutes with a file and some emory cloth and it would run anything.
