  1. Both mine and my wife's .40's have tight chambers. They are tighter than then kart national match barrel in one of my limited guns.
  2. I hate the three dot system. A quirk of my eyesight is that my eyes tend to focus on the rear dots rather than the front dot. I either switch the rear sight or black out the back dots. Oddly enough the white outline rear sight with the front dot is fine.
  3. I bought my wife an xdm because it fit her hand better than the glock and springfield was running an extra mag special. We had her a limited set up for less than $700. I liked the xdm so much, I sold one of my glocks to get one for myself.
  4. Yes, the CR Speed world shoot model for the xd will fit the xdm.
  5. Fit is definitely king. My barrel slugged out at .401. Anything under .402 leads terribly. I've had good results with water quenched bullets sized to .402 and lubed with a 50/50 mixture (by weight)of parrafin wax and vaseline with 2 tablespoons stp engine treatment over 6.0 grains of hodgdon longshot.
  6. I've been using the CR Speed holster, but I'll say that the Double Alpha holster looks very interesting. I'll probably make the switch to the Race Master sometime this year.

    TS Maintence

Here's the million dollar question for the day. When I order recoil springs etc. for my TS, are they different than the springs for the other CZ 75 models or do they use the same part numbers? Which parts interchange? Which parts don't interchange? What is the stock spring weight on the recoil springs and the main spring?
  8. I was going through some of my bullets the other day. I was comparing bullets for my .357 and 9mm. I found both to be the same diameter whether they were 9mm or .357. I think both of them measured .356. Both kinds were from the same manufacturer.

    CZ TS .40

I bought a steel guide rod from Angus and got rid of the shok buffer (the buffer was causing the slide to short stroke and driving rounds into the bottom of the feed ramp). My mags have extended base pads from Angus with Gramms springs and follower. I kept the fixed rear sight and installed a fiber optic front sight. The only issue I've had recently has been a couple of failures to extract, but I think that's gonna wind up being a ammo related problem. I set the take up and over travel to my liking and have been rocking right along.
  10. I'll be on the look out for the manufacturer if it happens again. I shot today and had no problems. I miked a bunch of my brass last night. The rims were between .415 and .421.
  11. Do you remember which brand was giving him problems? I got a load of brass the other day that had a bunch of foreign stuff in it.
  12. Ok guys thanks for the input. I think I'll replace the extractor spring. I've had the gun about a year so it's about time to replace springs anyhow. When I took the gun apart Sunday the extractor was clean relatively speaking. Where can I get the wolff springs? Also, what poundage are ya'll running on the recoil springs. I'm shooting about a 175 pf.
  13. Yeah, I think so. The spent round was left in the chamber and the slide pinned the fresh round on the feed ramp. It did it a couple of times last week while I was using some cast bullets so I just dismissed it. Saturday it did it on the last two stages I shot at the Gator Classic. I think my round count is around 6,000. Certainly not as many as I would think would wear it out. I pulled the extractor and compared it to the spare that came with gun. I couldn't visibly discern any difference. Nothing was chipped or looked excessively worn on the old one. I put it back and ran factory ammo Sunday with no more problems; so I'm stumped at the moment.
  14. Does anyone know what the allowable amount of wear for the extractor on the ts is? I've had four failure to extracts in the last week. Two of them were at the Gator Classic this past weekend. I pulled the mag it happened with and made a trip to walmart for some factory ammo just in case my handloads were out of spec in some fashion. I made it through the rest of the match, but I'm concerned that the problem may pop up at random. If anybody knows the specs, let me know.
  15. I concur. I love the sights on my TS. They are very easy to shoot.
  16. Dawson Precision makes a nice fiber optic front sight for the Kimber. I used a .100" wide front sight on my .45 and .40. They gave me a little more light on either side without compromising the precision.
  17. I take a deep breath or two and time my final exhale with the start buzzer.
  18. I finally got a copy of Brian's book the other day. I've read it a couple of times of the last two weeks. The idea of flowing is central to the thesis of being focused and aware. Today at our local club match I decided to just shoot. I didn't worry about times or points. I found my targets and shot them nothing more; nothing less. I decided what I need to do, and that's what I did. I was flowing, shot to shot, target to target, and position to position. One of the RO's asked me one time how many rounds my gun held. The reload from my first position to the second was so smooth he missed it. I noticed lots of little things today. Among them were: 1. I'd lose the sights when I didn't let myself see what I needed to see 2. Cast bullets generate massive amounts of smoke on a still day when facing the sun 3. There was no tension in my body once I decided that I was just going to shoot 4. The one time my brain did kick into gear it slow me down The result of flowing was that today I shot High overall and was the match winner. I even beat out the open shooters today. It was cool to just be; no pressure, no tension.
  19. The TS is a great platform. It has low felt recoil and tracks really well. If you get one, buy a steel guide rod and dump the recoil buffers. The buffers cause all kinds of feeding problems; especially with longer reloads > 1.125".

    Help!

Try cleaning the extractor. I had a similar problem the other day. The difference was that the fired round was being left in the chamber.
  21. For what it's worth, regarding the weight of the CZ, I did a test the other day to see if I was losing time on transitions. I have a Kimber TenII that I've shot for years set up with a .22 lr conversion kit. It's very light; more than half as light as the CZ. My transitions with the Kimber were .25 seconds. I shot the same drill with the CZ, and my transitions were .25 seconds. I've found that the CZ tracks very well regardless of the weight.
  22. Does anyone know why the blackberry curve won't access any of the links on the USPSA website? I'd love to be able to check my match results and classification during my down-time at work. Unfortunately my employer sees fit to block it, but I digress. Is there an app or an upgrade that will allow access to the links on my blackberry?
  23. There are a couple of things that can affect overall length. There is some variance in the length of the bullet itself usually + or - .001. The length of the brass will also affect the OAL. If you set your OAL with brass that is long, then you can expect the OAL to vary depending whether the length of your other brass is greater or shorter than that length. Set the OAL with the with the shell plate full. This will help remove any variance from play in the shell plate.
  24. I'm happy to report the reliability issues have been resolved. I shot the MS Classic this past weekend and took 1st in C Limited. I dumped the recoil buffers and upgraded to a steel guide rod. My ammo was loaded to 1.120". I ran the gun with 20+1. It ran like a "Singer".
  25. The magazine is the limiting factor on the XDM. The maximum length I could get to feed out of the magazines was 1.140". I decided just to go ahead and shorten them even further to 1.130" just to make sure none of them were dragging on the mag tube.
