  1. My extractor broke at our local match last month, but that was after 4years of heavy use. Swapped it out and finished the match, no biggie. As for odd malfunctions, my fixed rear sight broke off at the dovetail this past weekend at the Heart of Dixie Shootout. I never would have thought that would have been an issue. Now I will say the fact that I use the rear sight for a slide racker may well have contributed to its demise.
  2. I never have noticed it myself. Just weird I guess.
  3. I use the STI/Para sized mag pouches with my TS. I just crank down the tension screws.
  4. I've been looking around for a suitable holster form my P07. It's looking like i'm gonna have to go the custom route.
  5. Unless you got stuck with a crappy trigger, I don't think you'll benefit from a reduce power main spring. My gun came from the factory with a 1lb trigger. You can adjust the pretravel and overtravel on the trigger to get a feel very similar to a 1911. I'd play with rate on the recoil spring. My gun likes a 14lb spring, but a lot of the other guys run 11's or 12's. I like the aluminum IPSC magwell from CZC as well.
  6. I've tried a 12lb spring in mine. I didn't like the 12. It had too much vertical dispersion. Shay at Akai Custom Guns recommended I use a 13lb spring. It worked pretty good, but I went ahead and used a 14lb spring. I can't tell a difference in the gun using the 14 versus the 13. The 14lb spring should last a little longer. It's probably a good idea to change the spring out every 3-4 thousand rounds to keep some stress off the slide stop.

    P07 Mag Issue

I have a P07 in .40. It takes a pretty good whack to seat the magazine. I suspect the mags have a little more spring in them to make sure they function after sitting loaded for a while. My springs for my TS only have 11 coils in my 140MM magazines for limited. The springs for my P07 have thirteen coils, and mag bodies are considerably shorter.
  8. CR Speed or Safariland 773's for the glock would probably be the ticket.
  9. They say the barrel bushing tightens up the groups significantly at 50 yards. It might give you a little more wiggle room. That being said I've shot poppers at 100yards with the stock barrel and bushing.
  10. I'm a guy that fits your basic demographic at 6' 4" 250+. The TS does a good job of filling up my hands without being too big. I had the checkering removed and the grip recontoured to be a little more like my single stack by Akai Custom Guns. With the checkering gone and the triggerguard undercut, it handles even better than stock. I've shot the CTS, but I think I like the long dust cover a little better than the short dust cover. Extractor springs, sear spring and trigger return springs will need replaced every couple of years, sooner if you dry fire a lot. Recoil springs need to be checked regularly. Slide stops probably need to be changed at the beginning of each shooting season.
  11. Check out XX2i Optics. The glasses are lightweight, inexpensive, and have great lenses. I like them as good as my Rudy's.
  12. Congrats, on your purchase. If you haven't done it already, get rid of the recoil buffer. It causes all manner of feeding and cycling problems.
  13. Either company you mentioned will do a good job. Both CZ Custom and Akai have done work for me on my TS. Akai did the grip reduction and refinish for me. Shay did a great job. Angus and his guys rebarreled my TS for me last year when the barrel lug sheared off.
  14. The Spartan or Trojan is a good place to look. I did a Spartan build up for my dad. Gun, magwell, mags, and mag funnel were in the $850 range.
  15. I've used one for the last three years. It's a great gun. Mine is very accurate and reliable. I opted for it over the S_I guns because I was able to get a full rig including 6 mags for the price of the S_I gun alone. It balances nicely. You will have to keep a check on springs and slide stops. I've broken two slide stops since I had the gun. I I also had a bad barrel and had to have it replaced CZ Custom did a nice job on the barrel. I had Shay at Akai Custom Guns do a grip reduction for me. The TS is a much better fit with the factory checkering gone. I have large hands and even with the grip reduced it's still a good fit. It feels a lot more like a single stack 1911 now.
  16. Model 5197 has a standard belt loop attachment. You can still attach ELS later if you want. The part number should be the same as above except that "5198" is replaced with "5197"
  17. I had a similar problem on a Kimber Ten II that I use to have. The mecgar replacement mags were just a little shorter than the stock mag that came with the gun. If I put my Dawson basepads on, they wouldn't lock into the gun. My solution was to enlarge the mag catch slot in the mag. I removed a little material from the top of the slot. until they would lock in place. I checked to make sure the rounds were still properly oriented to the feed ramp. They were the mags worked fine. The only downside is that they became competition only mags.
  18. How does the sizing run on the Safariland belts compared to CR Speed or Double Alpha? Do I need to order a size up from my pant size or the same size?
  19. I thought about getting two or three and picking one stage of fire at each match to video from different angles.
  20. Do I need to order compact mags?
  21. Hey, Do standard 75 and 75B mags fit the P-07? Thanks and Merry Christmas.
